WHO: Heather Mason & [OPEN]
WHAT: Having a smoke and taking in new surroundings.
WHEN: Mid-morning.
WHERE: Outside her apartment building.
RATING: PG.
STATUS: Complete.

Heather was used to being stuck in a strange town. It didn't mean she liked it, but Silent Hill had been cut off from the rest of the world -- possibly even from any other dimension -- by the fact that the roads surrounding it were all broken and dropped off like a cliff into nothingness. This place seemed a lot better off, though. As far as Heather could tell, there were no grotesque monsters, no crazy fog, no dimensional shifts... It was a regular sort of town, even though no one could leave and people were sucked inside from all different times and places. At least it wasn't like a living nightmare, and Heather could live with that.

Being in a new place such as Colligo wasn't a picnic, though, no matter how much better off Heather felt. She didn't think anyone actually enjoyed it. She'd seen a lot of complaints so far, anyway, and since Heather had only just arrived a few days prior, she couldn't really judge what kind of place it was. Besides, her situation was different than anyone else's, and she had her own reasons for feeling the way she did. One good thing about it, though, was the fact that being transported like this got her mind off of the horrors she'd just been through. Anything that distracted her from her time in Silent Hill, along with the murder of her father, was just fine with her.

Taking a long drag from her cigarette, Heather watched as the smoke swirled up into the clear sky from her seated position on the steps in front of her building. She'd been assigned a room and had a roommate, but that was okay. She didn't see much of them yet, anyway, and she would be crazy to complain about having a roof over her head. She wasn't paying too much attention to anything else in that moment, and so when someone stopped right in front of her, she didn't notice it right away.

It wasn't so much that someone had stopped infront of her, but more like someone had appeared close to her, taken one step, and then stopped because someone was in her path. Inhaling the smoke, Rose had to take a step back because she immediately sneezed, though her hand made it to her mouth in time, and she turned away.

Drawing out her wand, she twirled it in the air, the smoke instantly vanishing from the air around her. Lost of people smoked where she came from, but there was something about walking into it that made her body react. And it smelled bad.

"Ah, sorry." she said, taking one step back. For nearly running her over, at least, she wasn't about to apologize for sneezing because of smoke. "Almost ran you right over." she offered a bit of a smile, before she tucked her wand back into her boots, the tip sticking out, pressed against the side of her legs.

She'd been in Colligo for a little while now. Not too long, but honesty, it seemed longer than what it was. Probably because she was rooming wit her cousins dead grandmother, a woman who was a legend in their world. It was a little odd.

For as much as Heather had learned to expect the unexpected, there was nothing that really could have prepared her for the fact that a girl with bright red hair, waving a magic wand, had appeared immediately nearby out of nowhere. She gasped quietly and felt her heart skip a beat before she realized what had just happened, or tried to anyway.

"What the hell are you supposed to be?" she asked, eyebrows lifting. Not the friendliest greeting, but the girl couldn't be human, right? As she waited for an answer, she took another drag of her cigarette, blowing the smoke away from the girl this time.

Rose cocked an eyebrow as she looked down at the sitting girl. She had planned to just walk past her, but now she was rooted to the spot. Mostly by the rude greeting, and now her need to see where this was going to go.

"The Wizard of Oz." she quipped. She'd seen the movie once. Anyone could have known there was no wizard from the start, and what had been with the woman in the pink bubble? And the evil witch? Loaf of bollocks, all of it. Rose had watched it at her mums parents place when she was younger, and had never wanted to watch it again.

Holding her hand out, her wand shot out of her boot and into her hands, and she twirled it in her fingers casually, looking down at the girl who was probably around her age. "I'm a witch, what the hell are you?" a witch who's accent was definitely from another country. If only Al and Scor were here, they could probably find some way to start a laugh from all of this. Or maybe start doing something stupid, like pulling rabbits out of a hat.

Heather wasn't actually a rude person, not when one got down into the nitty gritty of her personality. She just had an abrasive way about her even when she was joking around, and if someone couldn't take it for what it was, Heather wasn't bothered by it too much. She wasn't exactly a people person anyway.

She said nothing in response to the Wizard of Oz comment, and she probably should have expected something like that, but the fact that she spoke so casually about being a witch definitely pulled a reaction out of her.

"A witch?" she echoed, taking another drag from her cigarette and laughing quietly. "Oh man, this place is royally screwed up. There's people who claim they're rooming with Luke Skywalker, and now there's witches, too."

Rose blinked blank eyes at her. Clearly she had absolutely no idea who 'Luke Skywalker' was, and she didn't think she ever would unless she purposely looked it up. It was probably a muggle thing.

"A witch." she confirmed. "There's all kinds of us, you know. I'm not the only one who can use magic." there was a lot of them here, many of them being her family, or at least from her world. "And I have no clue who Luke Skywalker is, so I'm not getting the reference point."

Was she comparing the idea of someone being Luke to someone being a witch? He must have been someone famous in the muggle world, or something along those lines. "Anyway, it's not that odd of a concept." because really, could people honestly believe they were the only things on the planet, save some animals?

"No reference point," Heather replied, taking one last drag on her cigarette before she dropped it to the ground and stomped it into cinders with her foot. "And if you don't know who Luke Skywalker is, you must have been living under a rock, but he's a character from Star Wars. And I guess he's here?" She shrugged her thin shoulders. "That's weird. Hearing someone tell you they're a witch. It's all weird, you know?"

Pursing her lips in slight annoyance, she reigned in her temper and shrugged. "I haven't been living under a rock." she said, one hand resting on her hips. "Your culture isn't mine. I've heard of Star Wars. It's some sort of...movie. That's a muggle thing. The Wizarding World doesn't have movies." she found very little entertaining about staring at the television unless it was for music, news, or a very good story line.

"Yes, well." she said with a shrug. "Hearing someone mention movies like they're the most obvious thing is weird for me, and would be for most people in my world." unless they were muggle born.

No point in arguing with her. "You must be new here." she would have to be, if this was all still weird to her. "I'm Rose Weasley, and you are?"

Heather knew better than to argue the point. She could see for herself that this place was home to many different kinds of people, and even beyond that, she was no longer the type of person that was close-minded, not believing in such things. She'd seen enough that she didn't really question much anymore. Really, she just needed to get her entertainment somewhere.

"Hey, I'm not saying I don't believe you," she replied. "Just saying that yeah, it's weird for me."

She smirked just slightly at the assumption, then nodded. "Yeah, just a few days. I'm Heather."

"It's safe to say it's weird for most people." her dad was her age here, her uncle younger, and her aunt only a few years older. Her entire family was fictional characters to many, and seeing her fathers face on posters in stores was juts...odd.

"You'll mostly get use to the madness." she offered, though she doubted it meant all that much. You couldn't completely get over it, but you did come to expect it after only so long of being here. This place defied all laws.

Spinning her wand in her hand casually, she looked up at the building. She didn't really care to live in such a muggle setting, but it was how it was. She'd have to deal with it, and just realize that using too much magic would screw up all the electrical stuff. "So, what? Sitting out here and contemplating life?"

For being a rather anti-social girl, Heather didn't think Rose was too bad. She wasn't annoying or anything like that, so that was definitely a plus right off the bat. That wasn't to say that Heather was going to go and become best friends with her, since Heather wasn't into that whole concept, anyway. But she was alright.

"I'm not actually worried about not getting used to it," she said with a slight chuckle. "I shouldn't even be saying any of the stuff in this place is weird, after the other weird stuff I've seen." She shrugged. It didn't matter to talk about that though.

She watched Rose for a moment before answering her next question. "No. Sitting out here and smoking, that's about it." She'd been contemplating a few things, but none of which she really wanted to share.

Other weird stuff? Now Rose was curious. Tilting her head, she looked at Heather with interest. "What other weird stuff?" what sort of things did a muggle see that would really be weird? Although, maybe that was normal for someone who was from this girls world.

She didn't think she'd ever get use to a teenage father.

"Sound exciting." she said with a smirk. "Listen, I have to get going. But hey, you look about my age. Two of my best mates are here as well, if you ever get bored, give us a shout, yeah?" she offered, smirk turning to a smile. She might not be a witch, but it was always nice to know there was more of your own age group.

Besides, some of the things they got up to was hilarious.

Heather hadn't expected Rose to ask about the other 'weird stuff' that she'd seen back home, but she wasn't about to talk about it. Hell, she was trying her damnedest not to think about it, she wasn't going to sit around discussing it with a near-perfect stranger. It was no one's business. And aside from that, Heather wasn't about to let anyone start feeling bad for her, which was what would surely happen if she told anyone her dad had been murdered. The rest about Silent Hill, well...that would just make her look like a freak.

"It's a long story, and if you have to get going, I'd rather not keep you," she replied, actually not wanting to be rude for once as she turned down the girl's curiosity. "But, ah, I'll look you up sometime, alright?" She rose to her feet then, expecting the girl to head off on her way again.

If Heather called later, or not, that would be found out later. Not a big deal, she was simply making the offer. Maybe Scorpius would enjoy someone to drool over. Either way, she had offered, and now that was the end of it.

"Yeah." she said, taking a half step back when the girl stood up. "Good luck with the switch to Colligo life." she said. Smiling, Rose turned on the spot, and with a crack she was gone. Pulled into suffocating darkness, she would reappear a sort moment later infront of her room, debating if she should attempt to make Al's alarm clock sing mushy love songs at him when ever he entered the room.
