Sophie met Nate at the clinic, concern clear on her face as she looked at him and Sam. She hated seeing Nate in pain, and she knew what losing Sam would do to him. She'd seen him fall apart once, and she knew without a doubt that a second time would be worse. She held onto a carry container with two coffees in it and a shopping bag and gave him a small, worried smile. "How are you holding up?" she asked. She was nervous, being around Sam, but she would do anything for Nate and this was no exception. He didn't need to be alone right now, and she wanted to be there to support him. Even though this wasn't the Nate she was familiar with him, her feelings were the same. After all, it hadn't been Leverage that had made her care for him. "Hello, Sam," she said softly, not wanting the boy to feel uncomfortable around her. "My name is Sophie. I'm a friend of your father."
McCoy had been doing some lab work when the EMH informed him that there was someone in the clinic. He made his way over to the man and woman and looked at the boy in the former's arms. He felt a pang as he thought about Joanna, but pushed that aside. "Doctor Leonard McCoy," he said by way of introduction, leading them over to a bed they could put the boy on. "Do you know what the trouble is with..." he looked between them, "your son?" If they already knew his condition, then he could focus on trying to treat it, rather than running tests.
