Even with such a limited amount of experience in the real world, Hanna knew that most people who met her immediately underestimated her and that very little would ever change that. She also knew, however, that what most thought of her didn't matter and therefore didn't let it really bother her. Instead she just looked for small ways to stop them in their tracks - much as she'd just done by shooting the target in such a way - and continued on with whatever she was doing as though they didn't exist at all.
Every so often, though, someone didn't immediately underestimate her and it was those people that she enjoyed meeting.
So when John spoke, Hanna didn't ignore him as she might have if he'd been one of the ones snickering behind her back. She simply cast a quick glance toward him, her blue eyes searching his face for a moment to memorize various details, before responding with a simple, "That depends upon the target in question. Most animals, particularly creatures of graze, will allow their instincts to control their movements and therefore are unpredictable in the pattern they will use to escape." Pressing the button to send the target back another fifty yards, she took aim once more.
"A creature with higher brain function - a human being, for example, however, tends to run in a straight line as logic dictates that is the quickest distance to reach a destination." She fired two more shots and glanced toward John again, the corners of her mouth curving upward ever so slightly as her tone shifted from someone who was obviously responding in a conditioned way to someone who was simply offering an opinion.
"It is quite easy to hit a target that is simply moving further away along the same trajectory."
