Finding the sceptre in his apartment had been a surprise. Loki had sat down next to it and read the note several times over, taking in the words and the implications with them. Glancing back down at the package, there was a hesitation in him when it came to actually reaching out for the item, in the idea of picking it up, but he managed after a moment to lift it out of the packing that surrounded it. Turning the sceptre in his hands, Loki took a slow, deep breath as he felt something flood into him, a renewed determination to ensure the safety of this place, that he thought had been lost entirely in the wake of Neria's death. Resignation had flooded him after that, a feeling of not really being able to make any difference, compounded with the guilt over Banner's death and the annoyance at Barton having been downed as well. But now, as he clutched the sceptre in his hand, he felt as though whatever he tried, he would be able to achieve.
And he already knew what his first step would be.
Adam's words made a lot of sense, turning the attackers against each other would benefit them the most. He'd seen some people talking about utilizing the Daleks against the Cybermen as they apparently seemed to hate each other, but confronting either of them but the individual at risk. These Silents, they seemed to be far more complex in their interactions with this place, and while they were what had taken Neria down, spiking the deep rage in his gut, he also knew that when addressing the deaths that had occurred, most were not related to them. Wrapping himself in magic, he shifted from the apartment and into the streets, looking around himself as the crowds stopped and advanced towards him. Raising the sceptre, Loki blasted them back, smirking to himself as two Daleks flew backwards, colliding with the Cybermen that had been coming towards him as well. Whirling and dancing around the area, after several short minutes, he'd cleared a circle around himself, littered with broken bodies of the Cybermen and shattered pieces of Dalek armor and stone. Standing tall, he turned to confront anything else which might advance on him and found himself face to face with a tall, puckered face alien in a three piece suit. Ridiculous in its own right but just what he had been hoping to see.
"About time," Loki drawled, a devious grin spreading across his face. "I have a proposition for you."
