WHO Damian Wayne and Jesse Winchester
WHAT Evil mistletoe madness.
WHEN After this conversation
WHERE Out and about.
RATING PG-13?
STATUS Incomplete

Evil mistletoe.

It seemed that neither of them could let this evil twist of Christmas joy stand. Asaph had gone too far this time and they were going to put a stop to it. At least as much of it as Asaph allowed them too. Jesse was sure more evil mistletoe would arrive as they went around burning all the mistletoe they could find.

Grabbing his pocket and shoved it in his pocket before heading out the door.

He headed straight to the park as he buttoned up his jacket. He wasn’t made for this cold weather and would be happy when it was all over. He saw on the network that he wasn’t the only one but he wasn’t about to say so.

Walked over to a bench as he waited for Damian to get there.

After what had happened with Enigma and Steph back during Christmas in July, Damian was dead set on doing away with any evil mistletoe that he encountered. He just didn't understand what Asaph enjoyed about embarrassing people and ruining relationships. Despite the fact that Damian had, had no control over the situation, Damian still hated the fact that he'd hurt Steph and he probably always would, but he was at least glad that they were able to still be friends. However that wouldn't stop him from trying to destroy as much evil mistletoe as possible. Of course when Jesse suggested they just torch all mistletoe, Damian couldn't help but think that, that was an even better idea. Sure, it was possibly destroying public property, but it was for the good of everyone.

Grabbing a lighter, Damian donned his jacket and headed out to the park to meet up with Jesse. It didn't take him long to get there and soon, Damian was spotting the other teenager, "Hey! Ready to burn down some mistletoe?"

Jesse expected to be waiting for a while longer. He knew it didn’t take him long to get to the park. It would have been faster if he just teleported but he decided to walk. He figured it would take Damian about the same amount of time or longer to get there.

He had barely sat down when he heard Damian’s voice coming towards him.

“Hell yeah,” he said as he jumped up from the bench. He didn’t care if it ruined Asaph’s fun. Their collector had to find a better hobby than ruining the holidays for everyone.

Damian may have been a normal human, but years of training amongst the League of Assassins when he younger left him faster and stronger than most people his age, which meant it didn't take him very long to reach the park, but he wasn't surprised to see that Jesse got there before him. "So, where should we start?" It was fairly late, so Damian didn't expect there would be very many people out who could catch them and even if they did, he didn't think the police would do too much to them considering the Chief of Police and pretty much everyone else on the force were also non-locals and would probably understand what they were doing. "I think most of the normal decoration mistletoe is around the shopping district." He didn't know why anyone would put even regular mistletoe around the streets, because normally complete strangers didn't like to kiss each other. Well there were some strangers who kissed other strangers, but those ones were a completely different story.

“I wasn’t here the last time it happened so where does this mistletoe usually appear?” Jesse answered with a question. He didn’t have the same horrible experience with the mistletoe that Damian had. It would probably be best to follow the other boy’s lead in this mission.

It was good to know that the possibility of stranger kissing wasn’t in the general public. Although it made sense that Asaph would want to keep his minions out of it. He wasn’t even sure that the pod people even knew how to kiss so it would probably just confuse them all.

He took a couple steps near Damian as he waited for more instruction.

"Well. usually it just appears at the most random times. So, maybe if we start burning regular mistletoe we'll anger it, or Asaph, and it'll show up," Damian smirked. It had crossed his mind that if they started burning mistletoe, Asaph could decide to throw a whole shit load of evil mistletoe at them, but at the same time Asaph could decide to sit back and watch, considering that was what he was good at. "So, should we just start burning any mistletoe that we see, be it regular or evil?" He raised his brows slightly as he waited to see if Jesse had another idea, not that Damian could think of any other way to start.

Start by burning any mistletoe they came across? It seemed like that was the only opinion they had. It wasn’t as if there was a way to tell which was the evil mistletoe and which was the regular mistletoe.

“A better plan than no plan,” he said as he waited for confirmation of where they were starting.

It would, at the very least, giving them something to do for a couple of hours. Depending on how long they decide to continuing burning up the mistletoe. Or how long Asaph would allow them to continue to burn the mistletoe.

"Lets head that way," Damian gestured across the street from the park where there was a coffee shop and some stores, which were decorated with wreaths and tinsel and garland and of course mistletoe. "I know that the coffee shop has some hanging right over the door. I don't know why anyone would put it there, but name one thing that makes any sense in this place." Considering the late hour, Damian didn't bother looking both ways before he sprinted across the street, assuming Jesse would follow him. Reaching the front door of the coffee shop, which was dark inside, Damian reached up and pulled the sprig of mistletoe down from where it had been secured and holding it by the stem with one hand, he pulled his lighter out of his pocket with the other and lit it then tossed the mistletoe onto the ground, avoiding accidently tossing it in the snow.

It was probably one of the cruelest things Asaph did. Turning usually harmless objects against the people that he collected. It was worse because they couldn’t prepare for it. They had to treat everything as ‘hostile’. It wasn’t exactly how people wanted to feel during the holiday season.

Jesse was only a couple of steps behind Damian as they reached the other side of the street.

He stopped when he reached Damian’s side. Letting the mini batman get the first kill in, watching as the mistletoe disappeared into flame. The ice and snow melting around where the mistletoe had hit the ground.

Merry fucking Christmas Asaph, Jesse thought as he looked up at another twig of mistletoe. He didn’t have to reach for it. Only thought about the flame and the mistletoe turned to ash, not burning anything else.

Damian watched as Jesse burned up another mistletoe, a grin spreading across his lips, "That was pretty fucking awesome," Damian had known that Jesse wasn't exactly human, but he didn't know exactly what he could do, "Keep that up and this shouldn't take nearly as long as I thought it would." Heading to the next store, Damian didn't see any mistletoe hanging from their doorway, so he stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and scanned the general vicinity. Of course, while he was distracted, looking for harmless mistletoe, he didn't notice the not so harmless sprig that was hiding in a nearby wreath. "Do you see anymore around here?" He asked as the evil bit of mistletoe detached itself from the wreath and drifted towards Damian, hovering just out of sight, behind his head.

Damian sentence had Jesse turning away from where the mistletoe was. Well huh. It was natural for him and so he didn't think anything of it until Damian said something. It was kind of awesome, wasn't it?

"It's an antichrist perk," he said with a laugh in his voice. He didn't exactly look or act like the antichrist or for a demon. Neither did the other one that was here. "I could probably do it all from right here but where's the fun in that." They were going to rid this city of mistletoe but he thought it would be better to make a night of it.

Jesse followed Damian to the next storefront. Not really paying attention to when the other boy stopped. He bumped into him just as the 'evil' mistletoe drifted toward the boys. It was as if fate wanted it to happen. It appeared in the corner of Jesse's eye but it was too late to react. Before he knew it his lips pressed against Damian's.

"Steph and the others used to call me a tiny anti-christ." Damian couldn't help but laugh when he thought about himself when he was younger and then Jesse, "They were so off." Damian agreed that it was much more fun to burn all the mistletoe themselves instead of using any abilities. "Yeah, it's a lot more fun to burn them ourselves."

Once he started walking again, his attention was on looking for more mistletoe, so he didn't realize just how close he was following and he was just turning towards Jesse after the other had bumped into him when he was suddenly kissed. Of course Damian had been through this a few months earlier, so he knew right away what must have happened, but the influence of the mistletoe prevented him from pulling away and instead he couldn't help but kiss Jesse back.

Jesse couldn't stop himself from making a joke at Damian's expense. "I can see where they were coming from," he said with a laugh. He was just teasing a little bit.

Unfortunately this was his first time dealing with the demonic mistletoe. He didn't know why but he thought that because of what he was he would be able to fight it.

... He wasn't fighting it so well as anyone could see with his tongue practically shoved down Damian's throat. There was a desire to stop but he wasn't in control of himself.
