Roy was having a sense of Déjà vu as he walked to the coffee shop. It was only earlier this year that he'd had this same conversation with Helena after finding out that in a possible future they were married; although the difference was that they had been in a sort of relationship at the time where he and Babs were just friends. They'd been there for each other when Helena and Robert had been sent back, so it wasn't exactly a stretch of the imagination that something might happen between them in the future, but he knew that they had to talk about it, because it had the potential to get awkward if they didn't. It was a little strange though, being the one to suggest that they talk, because when it came to women, Roy was certainly not the one who initiated these sort of things or even participated in them. Sure, Roy had been pretty serious with Donna and there had been Jade, but talking about relationships wasn't something he tended to do. In a way, it was good and bad that Asaph had made them all forget about the time they'd spent in Colligo right after his and Babs' potential future, because it had given things time to settle down a little. He would have talked to her right after that, but with the Station being haunted for a little over a week, he'd had to deal with that.

Now, however, the Station was ghost free and the city was monster free, so that meant talking to Babs. Reaching the coffee shop with the Welsh name, Roy went in and ordered a coffee then glanced around to see if Babs had showed up before him.

Ah awkwardness. This was something that Babs had been trying to avoid pretty much since things had returned to normal. It was just way easier to do that. It had been this roller coaster of emotions the last couple of days. All she really wanted to do was ignore it. Because clearly this was going to change their relationship. She didn't want their relationship to change. Not at all. They were back to this awkwardness though. She didn't even know where to do with this. It wasn't like she was very good with this sort of thing. Not the whole dating thing and certainly not dealing with this other crap. However she knew that they needed to talk. Barbara headed to the coffee place, and when she went inside, she saw that Roy was in line.

She gave a wave and ordered her own coffee before going over. "Hey."

Roy had noticed Barbara when she'd walked in, but he'd decided to wait until the other redhead approached him. He didn't want to overwhelm her any more than he already had and he knew that this was an awkward situation for the both of them. For once in his life, Roy was glad that Dick was not around. When it had come to Helena and other situations during his time in Colligo, the one person Roy had wished was around was his best friend, but in this situation, considering Dick and Babs had been an item for quite some time, it would have just made things a lot more awkward.

As Babs walked up to him, Roy smiled; just because things were awkward didn't mean he wasn't going to be charming, "Hey. So, there's a table in the back, if you want to head over there." He gestured towards it, figuring it could afford them a little more privacy than sitting at one of the tables near the front of the shop.

It would be quite quite awkward if Dick was around. She wasn't sure that she'd ever see Dick again though, not that it mattered all that much. They weren't together, and though she'd always love Dick, she wasn't in love with him anymore. This was as awkward as it could possibly be without having to add anything else on top of it though. She gave a small nod, not looking as charming as him and went to the back table to sit.

Well here went nothing. Maybe she could convince him that acting like it didn't happen wasn't a bad thing. Babs sipped her coffee and looked over at him. "So.. how do you want to go about this? Without ruining things. Any ideas?" might as well get right to it.

Roy followed Barbara towards the table and took a seat as he took a sip of his coffee and contemplated Babs' question, "Well, we should probably decide how we feel about what happened." So far the only thing that was different from when he'd had this conversation with Helena was that they weren't on a rooftop, "And what it means. I mean, it's not a definite future, but it is a possibility." Sure, Roy had never thought of Babs in that aspect before, but part of that was due to the fact that she was his best friend's ex, but things did change and it was clear that if that particular future came true, they would be happy. While he didn't recall exactly how they had gotten together, he did knew that he had felt happy and loved and didn't doubt his feelings for Babs while he'd been his older self.

This was so loaded. It was like sitting across from someone that asked if you liked them, only you had no idea of the answer until they asked you. Not to mention that this whole thing was a big bag of awkward. "I don't really know how I feel except embarrassed, to be honest," she replied with a shrug of her shoulders. No, she'd never really thought of Roy that way either, for a lot of reasons. Though like him she knew that their older selves had actually loved each other quite a bit. Enough to have kids. Kids. "Right, a possibility though. I just don't want to mess up our friendship. I like being your friend. I don't have many of those.. especially here."

Roy smiled and reached across the table, placing his hand over Babs', "I doubt this could really mess up our friendship. Maybe make it a little awkward for a little while, but not mess it up." He squeezed her hand reassuringly, "Who knows, it could even make it better." Roy surprised himself with just how calm he was this time around, considering how nervous he'd been when he and Helena had, had this conversation. The situations had been different of course, but it didn't change the fact that there was a reason Asaph had decided to show them this possible future. Either he was just messing with them or he knew something they didn't know yet. Of course, didn't Asaph always know things that his collectibles didn't?

"Awkward is one way of putting it." It was true she didn't want to lose him as a friend. So it's not like she'd be so embarrassed to never talk to him again. That would be silly. Except it left a lot of unanswered questions because she didn't really want to talk about her feelings. "Better? I think you're pushing it a little." She wasn't sure if she was teasing him or not, honestly. What if he did actually like her? Now she'd be forced to look at him like that, all the time. She'd think about it all the time. She'd seen him naked. That's what she didn't know if she could get over.

"So.. we just.. stay friends and that's it then? I can handle that."
