WHO: Damian Wayne & Stephanie Brown
WHAT: Damian needs to tell Steph about the evil mistletoe incident before it gets too late
WHEN: Wednesday, July 25th. Afternoon
WHERE: The Mansion
RATING: PG-13 for possible language?
STATUS: In Progress

Damian knew that he should have done this sooner. A lot sooner. He should have gone to Steph as soon as he'd gotten back Monday night instead of convincing himself that she was probably asleep and that waking her up and telling her while she was half asleep wasn't the best option. He knew that he should have told her Tuesday morning then, but then she'd had classes and they'd both worked the night before. But now, here it was Wednesday afternoon and he knew that he couldn't put it off any longer, because not only did she deserve to know, but if he didn't say something now, Enigma might say something on the Network and even though he technically wasn't to blame for what had happened, considering they'd been under the compulsion of the evil mistletoe, it still wouldn't be good if Steph found out from her and not him. There had been quite a few times since he'd arrived in Colligo where he'd hated Asaph and now was definitely one of those times, because now Damian had no idea what the outcome of this situation was going to be and it was all cause of those stupid mistletoes. Damian knew that they were both very jealous individuals when it came to the other, but could Steph hold this against him when it wasn't technically his fault? He didn't know, but he had to find out. This wasn't something he could keep from her.

Stopping in front of Steph's bedroom door, Damian took a deep breath before knocking. He'd never been nervous about going up against The Joker or even the zombies that had infested the city a few months back, but right now he was extremely nervous, because he loved Steph and this was the last thing that he wanted to tell her no matter what the reason behind it had been.

Summer classes at the university were going well, even if it was weird to be calling them summer classes when she was wearing her coat, jeans and boots. Though she still sometimes missed Gotham, because it was her home and there were so many people she missed there, she was happy in Colligo. Her life seemed to finally be coming together. She was doing well in school. She had friends who knew who she was and didn't judge her. She had a relationship, even if it was kind of a weird one that she never would have predicted would happen in a million years. She was even managing the Batgirl thing here without everything getting screwed up at every turn. Honestly, her life lately was pretty much perfect. So the universe dictated that something would happen to screw it up. Because the thing was that life didn't go Steph's way. It never had. And having things go this well just wasn't the norm. Still, for now she was content to hold on to the good and hope the bad stayed away for a little while longer.

She was on her bed, drinking hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and working on a paper for one of her psych classes when she heard the knock on her door. She almost missed it with the music playing on her laptop, but she noticed and turned her music down. "Come in," she called, figuring anyone who was actually a threat wouldn't really be bothering to knock. She knew it wasn't Raven, since her best friend had an open invitation to come into her room and never knocked, but several people in the mansion were polite and she figured it was just one of them.

Normally, Damian probably would have just walked in without knocking, but this wasn't like any other time and the knocking prolonged the inevitable. Hearing Steph's voice, he pushed the door open and walked in, closing it behind him, "Hey. You busy?" Even if she was, he couldn't let it stop him, because he had to tell her this now or risk her hearing it Enigma, which would be even worse. Standing there, watching Steph where she sat on her bed, Damian was reminded of how only a few months ago, he'd been living in this same Mansion, but things had been extremely different. While there wasn't much of an age difference between them now, eight years in the future, when he was really from, she was still quite a bit older than him and he was still just Damian, Bruce's son and ex-Hellspawn, but here he'd finally gotten what he'd wanted for so long even if he'd denied having feelings for her for years. Considering who raised him and how, the only way Damian had known to express his feelings was to lash out, but that wasn't exactly a secret to anyone; both in Gotham and here in Colligo.

Finally pushing himself away from the door, Damian took a seat on the edge of her bed, "So, I've got to tell you something." He paused for a moment, chewing at his bottom lip before taking a deep breath and getting on with it before he lost his nerve, "So, Monday night I was patrolling and I happened to notice that Enigma was trying to break into the bank. So, I figured that I should probably stop her. And I did, but while I was stopping her, we were attacked by that stupid mistletoe of Asaph's and we kissed..." As he said it, he felt his heart rate quicken as we waited for Steph's reaction; dreading it.
