Family. For as long as he could remember, his family had consisted only of a father who couldn't have cared less if he existed or not. His attitude and understanding had improved drastically upon the introduction of Luke into his life, and the younger boy had pretty much filled the void that this father had managed to create by not really caring. Blood or not, Luke had been his brother, the one family member that he could really count on to be there. Luckily, the way that he had royally screwed that up had been fixed here, and not only that, but his family had been expanded quite significantly. It was ironic that the people that he had been working with and caring about for the last two years had turned out to be blood. And even if the situation here was a bit odd, he'd more than accept it.
Stepping into the courtyard, Gabriel offered Angela a tentative smile, not really sure how to greet her, but she solved that issue as she stood from the bench, crossing over, and pressing her hands against his cheeks in a way that would have made him uncomfortable if he wasn't in such a good mood as she grinned up at him.
"Hey to you, too," Gabriel said with a laugh, reaching up to delicately remove her hands from his face. "Two down. Four to go."
