Over the past eight years, Damian had spent a lot of time working on his issues that had been left over from his childhood and apparently he hadn’t done as good a job as he’d originally thought. After talking to Raven, he’d realized what he still needed to work on and one of those things was how he felt about Jason. Sure, they’d never exactly gotten along at home, what with Jason shooting him and all, but if truth be told, he really did want to try and work things out with him, even if he was still extremely pissed off at the other former Robin for hooking up with his mother. Damian and Talia had, had a very estranged relationship at the time that he’d been brought to Colligo and now eight years later, his opinion of his mother was still undetermined, but that didn’t mean he had wanted to know that Jason had slept with her, even if it had been when he had been a baby.
His need to talk to Jason had led Damian to the gym where Jason hosted his stupid Fight Club, which as far as he was concerned was the best place to try and talk, because they could beat the crap out of each other and Steph couldn’t get mad at him, because it was what you were supposed to do in a Fight Club.
As they circled each other on the mat, a few of the other’s who had come for the Fight Club watched and spoke amongst themselves. “Seriously, Todd, I thought you were supposed to be better than this?” Damian’s tone was smug as he threw a punch at Jason, keeping his other arm up to protect himself, “Don’t tell me you’re going easy on me. I’d be disappointed if you were.” Sure, he wanted to work things out, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t antagonize Jason a little in the process.
“No, I’m just getting started,” Jason says with a smirk on his face as he sends a counter punch back at Damian.
Damian had always hated that stupid smirk of Jason’s that he got when he was fighting and now he knew that it was because the former Robin had reminded him too much of himself and Damian had, had the potential to become just like Jason if he wasn’t careful. At the moment, all Damain wanted to do was hit that stupid smirk right off Jason’s face, but as he went to throw another punch, Jason’s connected with his shoulder, causing pain to blossom throughout the joint. There were a few random comments from the others around them, but Damian tried his best to block them out and focus on Jason, “If you call that just getting started then you’ve lost your touch.” He grasped his shoulder for a moment, “You’re not so tough without a gun, now are you? Don’t think I haven’t forgotten what it felt like when you shot me!!”
Using the memory of the pain he’d felt when Jason had shot him, back when they had all been fighting over his father’s legacy, Damian grunted as he jumped and executed a perfect round house kid; Jason’s head being the intended target.
Jason was distracted by the roar of the crowd when he hit Damian. The hit hits clean before Jason has time to react knocking him to the ground. The crowd really liked seeing that happen and let it be known.
“No I have not forgotten than. It’s one of my favorites nexts to one of the ones I’ve mentioned to you recently,” Jason says somehow still grinning from the ground recovering himself fastly. While he was talking he sends a legsweep at Damian.
At the reference to his mother, Damian's blue eyes narrowed, "You song of a..." He was so distracted by his anger that Jason's legsweep easily knocked Damian off his feet and he hit the mat, hard. The teenager didn't stay down for long, placing his hands behind his head on the mat and pushed himself up and back onto his feet, "You're going down, Todd." Moving forward, he threw a punch straight at Jason's head.
