Who: James Sirius Potter & Caroline Forbes
Where: Something Wicca This Way Comes
When: Thursday, July 5th. Early Evening
What: Hanging around the magic shop
Status: In progress

Jamie leaned over the table in the magic shop, sorting through a stack of magic books that needed to be put in their proper place. He was pretty good at inventory, having worked in George's magic shop back home, so he already had the majority of the books sorted into various piles and he hadn't even used any magic to do it. Ironically, he'd been using less magic at work after a slight mishap when a spell had backfired and he'd accidently broken a couple crystal balls. Sure, he'd been able to fix them easily enough, but it had made him realize that things in the magic shop were just slightly more versatile than those that had been in Weasley Wizard Wheezes; after all, most of those things had been made to explode and didn't cause too much damage. So, wanting to keep his job and not suffer the wrath of Cordelia, Jamie had begun using less magic when he was at work.

Setting the last book in the correct pile, he pulled out his wand and levitated a stack of books so that they followed him to the bookshelf. Okay, so there were some spells that were perfectly harmless when used the correct way. He certainly wouldn't go levitating jars of spell ingredients, because one wrong move and kaboom. And again, he'd be in the same hot water that he'd been in with the crystal ball fiasco. Taking the first book off the stack, he put it where it belonged and continued with each book until he heard footsteps behind him; not sure whether it was a customer or one of his co-workers, Jamie glanced over his shoulder to see exactly who it was.

Caroline didn't exactly spend all her free time in magic shops, because she had a life and she wasn't a weirdo, but every so often she stopped by Constantine's store. It was never really for shopping though. She was a vampire, not a witch, and she didn't really have a pressing need for crystal balls or creepy statues, except to use as paperweights to annoy Damon? What? Just because they were in a stable relationship and happily engaged didn't mean she suddenly wasn't allowed to screw with him just because she felt like it. That was half the fun of their relationship. The other half was the more literal screwing. They did that a lot too. No one should be surprised by that considering how hot they were.

Mostly she just came to the shop to see Bonnie or Cordelia. She got along really well with both of the other women, and sometimes it was nice to just hang out with them. Plus, she was always on the look out for less gaudy lapis jewelry to see if she could get Bonnie to spell her a few alternate pieces. She needed some variety in her life. Maybe some vampires were fine with wearing one giant ring for all eternity, but she had taste, thank you very much. So she was in Something Wicca This Way Comes enjoying a free afternoon since Damon had taken possession of Emma for some daddy-daughter time, just looking around, when one of the guys, she didn't bother remembering names but she was pretty sure he was one of the ones Molly used to like (or maybe still liked), turned around suddenly.

"Hey," she said cheerfully. "Is Bonnie around? Or Cordelia? I was sort of hoping to run into one of them. I should have called first, but I'm pretty sure it would have turned into some weird voice post or something. And texting is so out. There's a reason I don't use Twitter. I don't need everyone knowing about every time I stop at Starbucks."

Jamie recognized the girl as a friend of Bonnie's, but couldn't quite recall her name, "Um...Bonnie isn't on tonight and I'm not entirely sure where Cordelia is. She was here earlier, but by the looks of it, I'm the only one her right now." Jamie knew that someone else had to be in the shop, perhaps in the back or the basement, but for the time being he was the only one on the floor. Picking up the last book, which had been levitating, he located where it belonged and slid it onto the shelf then stuck his wand into his back pocket, "I could check the back, if you wanted." While working in the magic shop hadn't been Jamie's plan, he did enjoy working with other magic users, mostly because he was intrigue by their own personal magicks. None of them used wands like he did, mostly just incantations and various magical items and it got him wondering if it were possible for him to do the same. After all, it wasn't his wand that manifested his magical ability; that had been inside him since way before he'd gotten his first wand.

"Also I don't think we have Twitter in the future." It was still a little odd to think that he was in a time where he should have been seven years old, but it was pretty cool at the same time. "No, that's a lie actually. It's just a lot more high tech." It wasn't until being brought to Colligo did Jamie use any of those social networking things.

Caroline was disappointed that Bonnie and Cordy didn't seem to be around, but it wasn't the end of the world. The shop had a few interesting things and, if nothing else, she could hang around for a little while before going to the coffee shop and then home. Maybe, if she was lucky, one or the other could stop in. "That's a shame," she told Jamie, moving toward an area that had various pieces of jewelry with special stones. Even though her daylight ring was unnecessary thanks to the change in her DNA from the cure Nikola had given her, she still kept it around just in case she ever reverted. But with her engagement ring and her daylight ring, it was just too much, so she was tempted to find a nice lapis necklace that she could get Bonnie to spell for her.

She didn't see anything in particular, but she figured she could find something later. In the meantime, she had this guy to talk to. "I didn't think you wizardy types used Twitter anyway," she said idly. "I thought you were all technologically retarded and stuff." She paused. "Was that insensitive? I think it might have been a little insensitive. Sorry. Anyway, I'm thinking of getting Bonnie a present before the baby's born, and she's all witchy so...yeah. Any idea what she might like. Any witch books she's super excited about or anything?"

"She was here earlier today, so I'd assume that she's home now." Jamie had thought about asking Bonnie or Willow or Tara for help when it came to wanting to figure out if he would be capable of doing magic without a wand, but Bonnie had the whole pregnancy thing going on and Willow and Tara had only just gotten back. He could have asked Constantine, but he got the feeling that his boss didn't exactly like him and that made things a bit awkward. Sure, he could have tried on his own, but after the mishaps he'd had at the shop, thanks to his magic, he didn't want to accidently blow up his flat or anything, so for the time being he would rely on his wand and try to do less magic at work.

Listening to the blond, he eventually made his way back to the table where he'd left the other stacks of books and chuckled in response to her question about technology, "Well it depends on who you're talking to. My dad grew up in the Muggle world and my granddad on my mum's side was obsessed with Muggle things and my aunt is a Muggleborn, so we were all raised with an appreciation for Muggle things, which includes technology." Of course there were still some Wizards, even now, who were still quite old fashioned, but most of them were still educated in Muggle ways in some capacity, "And as for Bonnie, there's nothing I can think of off the top of my head. Sorry." He leaned against the table and ran a hand through his hair, which was so much like his dad's and grandfather's, "If I think of anything I'll let you know though."
