Remus had missed this so much that he didn't care how close or smothering Sirius got. All he wanted to do was sit there with him all night and only get up if the apartment was on fire. In his eyes, needing him or anyone else didn't make Sirius weak in the least; it made him human. He had always acted like he didn't need to rely on anyone else, but Remus had know different. Remus had known why Sirius needed to be the strong one and he'd always let him, because he'd needed that, but now it was clear that the other Wizard needed him to be the strong one and Remus was certainly more than up to the task. "I prefer having a clean apartment, Sirius. Besides, there wasn't anything else to do while you were gone." Even if he wasn't forced to tell the truth right now, he still would have told Sirius how utterly miserable he had been without him.
