WHO: Sherlock Holmes & John Watson
WHAT: Sherlock has therapy, and he's not sure how to do it properly. He decides to ask John for advice.
WHEN: April 17th; afternoon
WHERE: John & Sherlock's flat
RATING: PG
STATUS: In Progress
Yesterday had proven to be excessively draining. Transferred back into his own body by the morning, he had had to check in at his court mandated counseling session. It had been a lengthy session with the therapist insisting that every law enforcement official that she was required to see tended towards the same pattern of behavior. A strong insistence upon self-reliance, a refusal to seek help even when it was necessary, and even intense self-destruction were all characteristic of law enforcement personnel who had just seen too much. And despite the fact that Sherlock had attempted to correct her assumption that he was anything resembling a member of law enforcement much less had the same reasoning for his behavior as any of them, she had just smiled benignly and assured him that she couldn't help if he wasn't willing to be honest with both her and himself. In the end, she had only ended up scheduling him biweekly appointments, Monday and Wednesday, 'for the foreseeable future' as she didn't see them resolving his issues anytime soon.
And after that mess, Sherlock had headed back to the flats with the intention of stopping in the make sure that Anna was settling back in to her life only to find that her place was empty and showing all the signs of her having been sent back home. Down one familiar face in his list of people that he knew around here, Sherlock headed back to his own flat with the singular goal of allowing himself to relax for a bit in the company of one familiar face that he felt he could always depend upon to be there.
Picking up his violin as he entered the flat, Sherlock moved to the window, playing a few idle notes as he walked before calling out into the flat with no real concern where John was at the moment or what he was up to, "How are you supposed to make a therapist thing you're improving?" He asked, playing a few other notes before frowning to himself. "She's not going to let this go until she thinks I'm actually making an effort. I'm not sure how to do that."
