After Melinda had drank from the blood that Ianto had given her, she felt kind of satisfied but there was just something missing. But to her right now blood was blood and she was starving. When she threw away the couple of bags that she had drank from, she put the rest in her purse, just in case that she would need any because she was about to go and just explore to see if anything would happen. Would she still have the cravings? Would she attack someone? Deciding that if she was going to sparkle she would just cover herself up. So she grabbed a scarf and a pair of sunglasses as she put on her coat and grabbed her purse and headed on out.

As she was walking, it wasn't too bad. But she didn't stop anywhere, she just kept on going. No really knowing where she was going to go exactly but it was just nice to get out and be able to smell the fresh air and get to experience being outside for once. And she did have the extra blood in her purse in case that she got any cravings. Taking a deep breath she knew that she would be alright.

Approaching the park she saw all the kids playing which made her smile. Luckily she always packed a book just in case that she wanted to just sit and read. Finding a bench she sat down and took her sunglasses off and began to read her book. But she kept getting distracted by all the kids playing and then the couples having picnics. She could hear their veins pumping their blood. Maybe this wasn't such a great idea but she couldn't help staring at it, so she ran, ran as far as she could. Getting out a bag of blood she began to drink it, but that wasn't enough. All she could do was think about were those people and how great they would taste. Peeking from behind a building that she ran to, she just stared, wondering who she was going to try first.

Caprica had been very glad not to end up switched like so many other people. It had been a long time now since her last, and what turned out to be final, resurrection. Waking up in a new, identical body was disorienting enough, but to wake up in a completely different one must be terrible for those unfortunates.

After she'd finished a walk by the park, she was passing a building when she got the gut feeling of being watched. She stopped in place and looked around her before calling out, "Hello? Is someone there?"

Melinda was just looking at everybody trying to hold back from feeding from people but she couldn't. She had the urge to just run over there and feed from a couple of people that were starting to walk off. Getting a little scared of who she was becoming she began to hear a voice.

"Go away, I don't want to hurt you." She could hear the blood pumping from this person's veins and it was hard to resist. Maybe if she didn't see her she wouldn't attack her.

"I'm not myself, I can't control my cravings because I swapped bodies with a vampire. I can hear your blood pumping and all I can think about is attacking you to feed off of you. Figured that if I didn't see you then I wouldn't harm you." She then said while she started to drink the animal blood again. It only lasted a minute or so with the animal blood that she felt like she could go outside.

"Ah. I see." She didn't literally see, of course; the speaker was in the building's shadow, and with words like that, Caprica thought it best not to move where she might have a view.

The vampire concept was new to her, but she had tried to learn while here about the different kinds. She couldn't tell from any of that information if her blood would be good or bad for them. It was blood, yet deep down, it was not the same as human blood. Of course, she'd rather not have to find out what a vampire thought of it.

"Why are you out here if you can't control the cravings?"

Not really giving the whole animal blood thing a chance she didn't want to hurt this poor girl. "Sorry, I'm usually not like this at all. I should be able to control anything since my own body is a witch and all."

Maybe she would try coming out and seeing what happens. Just focusing on the animal blood she could possibly try and be friendly with her. It wouldn't hurt at least to try, she just wished that she was in her own body at this point.

"I thought that with the animal blood that was given to me that I could resist the urge and the cravings would just disappear. But it turns out that I was wrong." She finally came out to show herself. "I'm going to try and keep this blood with me. I don't want to be in hiding forever." She said as she took another drink of the animal blood but staring at the woman's veins.

"What does being a witch have to do with it?" That was another thing that Caprica was having to learn about here-- magic. She didn't have the cultural heritage that so many people here shared; they had references and stories and histories to relate to, but she wasn't even from their galaxy.

She wished she knew how strong these vampire bodies were. Her own was outwardly human, and nearly identical inwardly as well, but part of the difference was her strength. Against a human, she knew she'd have a very good chance of defending herself. She couldn't be sure at all with a vampire.

"What?" She stared aghast. "You're putting other people's lives at risk because you couldn't bear hiding until this is over? Your temporary isolation against life?"

"Because I have powers, I can control it. I thought with me being a witch that I could control the cravings. That is why I brought up me being a witch." She had told her, and this was a bad idea. She needed Ianto or Ben right now cause she didn't know if she was going to last or not out here with this woman.

Melinda really wanted her own body back, if they swapped back she would definitely say something to Alice about how much she learned about being her and everything. Cause its really not easy being a vampire because the cravings will eventually get the best of her.

"Hey now, calm down. I haven't hurt anyone alright. I'm carrying around animal blood to drink so that I can focus on that instead of attacking people." She sighed, "I'm sorry if I scared you or anything, its not my intention at all."

"Your powers apparently are specific to your own body. I suppose that might be a revelation for people like you who've swapped, what's tied to the biology and what's carried by the soul."

"I'm more upset than scared." That was true. Besides, getting scared might just provoke more of that predatory response. "It's still an experiment, isn't it? One that could end in someone else getting killed?"

"Yeah I think I realize that right now. But the animal blood is helping somewhat. I mean I'm craving human blood, but this is doing its job right now." She said shrugging her shoulders.

"I never killed anyone. Apparently I'm not that kind of vampire, the person that I swapped with they drink animal blood. And I can't even die in the sunlight, I sparkle. I just came back here because I started getting human cravings. Figure I might as well just step back for a few." She had told her.

"Well, vampires usually the sun turns them into dust. Some vampires can't handle sunlight, but I guess the vampire I swapped with can, they just sparkle like diamonds. And yeah, they have been my friends for a while. I'm not a vampire in my real body." She then took out a handful of animal blood bags to show her. "I have plenty, and it seems to be working. I'm not attacking you am I?" She said trying to prove a point.

	She couldn't understand what kind of differences would be needed to turn someone into dust from sunlight, but she could find out about that later. She looked as best she could from where she stood. This woman really didn't seem to like her but who would want to like her if they thought that they were going to get fed on by her. But she was trying at least, that had to matter right?

"Wait, your not human? I guess there's only one way to find out then. Will you take a walk with me? I promise I'm completely harmless." She told her, "If I act like I can't handle it I'll gladly run back to my apartment and stay there."

"I'm not from the Earth that most everyone here seems to be from. Make of that what you will." The truth, of course, was that she wasn't human, non-Earth type or otherwise. She hoped her point was made anyway, that a craving that dangerous was unwise to test. "Very well. If it will keep anyone else from being your test subject, I'll walk you home. What's your name?"

"I think I can manage that, it wouldn't be the first time that I've come across something unusual like that." She said with a shrug as she talked to her. "My test subject? Nobody said that anyone was my test subject, I came outside because I needed the fresh air and to see what it would be like with the animal blood. That's all. I never said that I was testing people to see if I attack them or not. And to see if my cravings would come back after drinking the animal blood. I'm fine for right now." She had told her. "I'm Melinda Halliwell, and you are?"
