claire winchester is not your typical superhero ([info]goallbuffyonus) wrote in [info]colligo_threads,

Although Meri would have loved to say that her mommy would never say something like that, she knew that it was probably true. Her mommy didn't like Lucifer, not even a little bit, and anytime his name came up she got a look on her face that said as much. So yes, Meri could easily see her telling him that what he thought didn't matter.

"I think that's dumb," the girl announced after a few seconds. She frowned slightly as she met his gaze. "He's your brother. You should get a say in it, too. She'd want a say if it was Uncle Lyle and I know daddy'd have a say if it was Uncle Sam." She stopped there, considering her options. She could tell her parents what she thought and risk being told she was too young for her opinion to matter. Or she could keep quiet and let them work it out like kids were supposed to do (according to her folks, anyway).

"I guess I can tell them," she finally decided. "Mommy might not like it but I bet daddy won't get too mad, since I think he's right." And, when push came to shove for Meri, that was what mattered.

A brief pause, as she absently tucked a few loose strands of hair behind her ears, and Meri perked up a bit. "D'you think maybe that'd make 'em stop fighting? I don't like it when they fight. Gabbi gets fussy and then Jack goes off to play or gets real quiet and goes to his room and there's never nothing fun to do when he's acting like that." She rolled her eyes, clearly more than willing to blame her twin for why she was currently bored.
