Who: Hugo Weasley and Juno Weasley
What: Celebrating their first Valentine’s Day together
When: Backdated: Tuesday, February 14th. Evening
Where: Their dorm room
Rating: PG-13
Status: Complete

There were still times when Hugo couldn’t believe that he was actually married and this was one of those times. It was Valentine’s Day. His and Juno’s first Valentine’s Day, not only as a married couple, but as a couple in general and despite it only having been about four months, he honestly couldn’t imagine his life without Juno right there beside him. He knew their relationship was rather unconventional and he knew that Charlie was still pretty dumbfounded as to exactly what had caused them to get married, but Hugo was happy and he enjoyed making Juno happy, so he tried not to question what had caused them to do it and only focused on the fact that they were married, because that’s all that really mattered. He enjoyed doing little things for Juno to see her smile, which included the candy hearts that had rained down on her that morning when she’d gone to leave for class. Candy hearts that had been inscribed with not only the usual things that they chalky candies usually said, but also a few that read ‘Juno + Hugo’. After all, seeing Juno smile was his favorite way to start the day. It was also his favorite way to end the day and he hoped that tonight wouldn’t be any different.

He was pretty sure that tonight would end as most nights did, especially after Juno saw what he’d done. Hugo’s classes ended earlier than Juno’s did, so he had gone to the store and after avoiding sinking into a pit of quicksand outside the store and stunning yet another group of ninjas, Hugo had finally made his way back to the dorms and into the communal kitchen where he’d cooked Juno’s favorite meal. Once back in their room, he’d laid out a blanket on the floor, lit some candles and set out the food with a warming charm so that it would still be hot when she returned from class, which Hugo noted wouldn’t be long.

Juno had gathered up the candy hearts that morning and packed them in her lunch, pulling them out at random throughout the course of the day, and smiling to herself. Hugo really was one of the sweetest, most thoughtful people she knew.

As they school day drew to an end, she became more and more anxious to get home, and spend the evening with him--excited to see what he had planned for her. She had a couple of gifts stashed away for him in the dorm--hopefully, he hadn’t found them, and snooped, but if so, she didn’t really mind--and some new lingerie underneath her outfit for unwrapping later on. But mostly, she just wanted to enjoy his company.

Hugo had never actually been in a serious relationship on Valentine’s Day and considering he’d only been in three before Juno, he hadn’t really been sure what to do for her, but he had finally decided on dinner in their room, because he didn’t have to worry about reservations and overcrowded restaurants and not being able to hear one another over all the other conversations going on; besides it would be a lot more intimate at home by themselves. He only hoped that she liked it. He also had a few gifts stashed away for her, which he had spent quite some time thinking over before purchasing them to make sure that Juno would like them.

Glancing at his watch, he noted that her last class of the day should have just gotten out and he sat down on the bed and pulled one of his books over, deciding to attempt to finish reading the chapter he had bookmarked while he waited for her.

Juno hurried back to the dorm as quickly as possible, whistling happily as she let herself in. She caught herself glancing up, in case there was another rain of candy, then laughed it off, and called out to her hubby. “Honey, I’m home!”

Not that he wouldn’t already know it, considering the dorm room wasn’t that big, but hey. She just felt like saying it.

Hugo looked up from his book as the door opened and he smiled upon seeing Juno, “Welcome home,” He said, setting the book aside and getting to his feet then crossed the room to where she was standing and wrapped his arms around her waist. They only had one class together, which was Hugo’s favorite class, for obvious reasons, but they hadn’t had that particular class that day so they hadn’t seen each other since that morning and he was quite glad that she was finally back so that they could spend some quality time together and celebrate the holiday. “How was class?”

“It was okay,” she said, shrugging her shoulders as she stepped into his arms, and laid her head on his chest. He was becoming familiar, and his presence was comforting in ways she couldn’t quite define. And even as comfortable and relaxed as she felt with him, her heart still fluttered a little whenever she saw him.

“I missed you.”

“I missed you too.” Hugo had never really understood how one could miss someone that much after only eight hours apart, but he had never been quite so serious with either of the relationships he’d been in during his previous year of University, but then again he hadn’t lived with either of his exes, even if his boyfriend had been around a lot, because he’d also been friends with Hugo’s roommate. There was just something different about waking up with and going to sleep with the same person everyday in the same bed as opposed to occasionally and deciding whose room you were going to stay in that night. There was something different about actually being in love with that other person that made his heart rate speed up a little when he knew that Juno was on her way back from class.

Bringing a hand up to her neck, he slid it up to her chin slowly and tipped her head back as he smiled down at her, “Happy Valentine’s Day.” Of course he’d said it to her that morning, but he felt the need to say it again before lowering his head and kissing her, softly. It had never been this good with anyone else and Hugo supposed that he had Asaph to thank for bringing them together.

Juno was reluctant to admit that Asaph might have had a hand in making them realize their feelings for one another, but it was probably true. Right now, all she wanted to think about was Hugo--his arms around her, his heart beating beneath her cheek. His voice in her ear.

“I love you,” she said, almost impulsively. Sure, they’d said it frequently, but it bore repeating.

Hugo had never thought that hearing those three words would make him feel as happy as it did when Juno said it, but it never failed to bring a smile to his face, “I love you too.” He smiled down at her for a moment or two, before finally removing his arms from around her and moving to stand beside her so that they were both facing the blanket with dinner laid out on it, “So, I made dinner. Your favorite.”

Juno looked over the spread for a moment, grinning at the sight of the picnic waiting for them. Slipping an arm around his waist, she gave him another quick hug before they moved to sit down. “You are seriously boss, Hugo,” she declared, beaming at him. “It looks delicious.”

Hugo smiled as he took her hand and led her over to the blanket then moved around to the other side of the blanket so that they were facing each other when they sat down. “If my grandmother was still here she would be proud to know that she was able to teach at least one of us to cook. Jamie nearly blew up the kitchen at The Burrow once.” Hugo shook his head as he picked up the bottle of champagne that he’d bought, “And he was only making toast.” Hugo was glad that the drinking age in Colligo was eighteen, because not only had he been able to drink legally for the last two years at home, but this wouldn’t have been nearly as romantic if he’d had to buy sparkling cider or something similar instead. He popped the cork and filled two glasses then handed one to Juno, “Should we make a toast?”

Juno held her glass by the stem, smiling as she watched the bubbles for a moment. She loved hearing all the anecdotes about Hugo’s family, almost as much as she loved Hugo himself. She really appreciated that those members of his family who were present in town had really made her feel welcome, even if she did make them scratch their heads.

“What should we toast? Family?”

“Well, we could, but perhaps tonight we could toast to us? I don’t believe we ever actually had a wedding toast.” Of course they’d had the wedding at City Hall and and their friends had been there, but Hugo was pretty certain they hadn’t had a proper toast because everyone had been pretty perplexed that they were even getting married. He knew that Charlie still didn’t fully understand it, but he was supportive none the less and Hugo was happy about that. He wasn’t even surprised at how accepting Jamie was, because Jamie accepted most everyone.
“You know, I don’t think we did,” she said, tilting her head thoughtfully. She raised her glass, extending her arm toward Hugo, so that he could join her. “To us, then. Three wonderful, crazy, confusing, amazing months, and counting. And to the first of many happy Valentine’s days.”

Hugo smiled and raised his glass to join hers, “To us. I never imagined that I’d be married at nineteen, but I wouldn’t change a thing.” He touched his glass to Juno’s then took a sip of the champagne. After setting his glass down, Hugo began serving dinner, which was actually the first home cooked meal they’d probably had in their room the last few months, because they either got take away or things that would be microwaved quickly in the kitchen down the hall, because they were both so bogged down with classes that there just wasn’t time to cook anything proper. Hugo was surprised that he hadn’t gained thirty pounds in the last three months, but then again he somehow found some time to use the gym on campus.

Juno sipped the champagne, trying not to giggle when her stomach growled in response to the sight of Hugo’s delicious meal. She didn’t think there was anything that he wasn’t good at. He really did take after his mother in that way, she supposed.

“So,” she said, making small talk as they began to eat. The meal was every bit as tasty as it looked. “Have you thought about what you want to do for Spring Break?”

There was plenty that Hugo wasn’t good at, which Juno was bound to find out eventually, but for now he was focusing on doing things that would make her happy and those were the things that he was good at. When she mentioned Spring Break, he glanced up at her as he chewed and took a sip of champagne before speaking, “I hadn’t actually. There really isn’t anywhere we can go, is there? I mean I know some people have left the city, but from the accounts I’ve heard, there aren’t exactly any vacation spots beyond the city limits. Was there something you’d been thinking of?” If there was something that Juno knew of that he didn’t, he definitely wanted to know about it.

“I don’t know. I’ve never been outside the city limits,” she said, shrugging her shoulders. “I was just curious. We can always find things to keep ourselves busy, around here.” She smiled capriciously as her imagination wandered to what they could do with a whole week free of classes. Of course, she knew they didn’t have to wait until Spring Break to enjoy that sort of thing. “Or we could go to a bed and breakfast, instead of the dorm. Just to change things up.”

Hugo smirked at her suggestion of finding other things to do on Spring Break, which didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what other things she was referring to, “I’m sure we could come up with quite a few things to occupy our time.” Despite the fact that Hugo had, had sex a few times before he’d come to Colligo, it had still been fairly new to him when they had gotten together, but over the last few months, he had become quite a bit more comfortable and less self conscience. “I do like the sound of a Bed and Breakfast though. And I’m sure we could get Jamie or someone to take care of the hedgehog for a few days.” Having a hedgehog for a pet was slightly odd, but it was pretty cute actually and it was yet another thing that made Juno happy.
Juno nodded. She liked the uniqueness of their motley family, from the dragon, to the hedgehog. Even back in Minnesota, she’d had unusual taste, but here, she was able to experience things that most people could only write about. While Colligo had its share of aggravation, she was doing her best to focus on the positives--and to enjoy whatever time she had with Hugo. To make it last as long as they were able.

“Or perhaps Charlie. Jamie might forget to feed him.” Ok, so Hugo didn’t give James enough credit, but it was difficult sometimes when most of the time he took more after their Uncle George then George’s own children did and that made Hugo somewhat iffy about giving his cousin too much responsibilities when it came to living things. They continued discussing various possibilities for Spring Break as they ate, but Hugo really liked the sound of a Bed and Breakfast and had made a metal note to begin looking up places in Colligo later.

Once they’d finished eating, Hugo finished off his second glass of champagne before moving to sit beside Juno, “So, you enjoyed dinner?” While he’d been cooking, Hugo had been worried that Juno wouldn’t enjoy it and he supposed he needed to be reassured that she had; sometimes Hugo could be extremely confident, but then the insecurity that he had inherited from Ron crept in and he began to worry even when there was no reason to.

“I did,” she said, setting down her glass and scooting closer to him--leaning against his shoulder. “You did a great job, Hugo, this is all really nice.” She smiled up at him and ran a hand along his chest. “Thanks for cooking tonight. I really appreciate it.”

“I wouldn’t mind cooking for you more often, but it seems that whenever I go into the kitchen there are at least six other people using it at the same time.” Hugo didn’t really mind living in the dorms, but there were times when he missed the fact that at his and Charlie’s apartment there had been a private kitchen and bathroom. Then again, if Hugo were back home he’d still be living in a dorm. “Oh, I’ve got something for you.” He had a few things, but one was more important than the others. Pulling the box from his pocket, Hugo debated opening it himself or handing it to her and in the end he held the small box out to Juno. Inside the box were two rings one for himself and one for her.

Juno opened her mouth to say something, but the words caught in her throat as she was presented with the jewelry box, and she saw what was inside. Their wedding had been so impromptu that they’d never actually gotten rings, and she didn’t really even own any costume jewelry to wear in place of a diamond. Not that it had bothered her--but somehow, having Hugo present her with the matched set now seemed to lift a weight from her shoulders, all the same.

She looked up at him, speechless for a moment. He knew her fears that people might not take them seriously, or think that their relationship was real--and though she’d been doing her best not to take stock in what other people might think, it hadn’t always been easy, of late.

“Hugo,” she said, finally, taking the man’s ring from the box and turning it over in her hand for a moment before reaching for his. “This is perfect.” She could hardly wait to see it on him.

While he’d waited for Juno to say something, Hugo had chewed his bottom lip, but when she finally spoke, his lips turned up into a smile, “I’m glad you like it. I was worried you’d think it was too flashy.” Besides the earrings he’d gotten her for Christmas, Hugo had never really bought jewelry before, with the exception of for his mother, so he’d been worried she wouldn’t like it. As she reached for his hand, he used his free hand to retrieve her ring then waited for her to slide his band on.

Placing the ring on his finger, she gazed up at him, and squeezed his hand as she waited for him to do the same. She was torn between admiring the wedding bands, and wanting to kiss him silly, to make sure that worried look wouldn’t come back.

“They’re so elegant,” she murmured. “I love them. I love you.”

Once his ring was on, he slide Juno’s onto her ring finger and squeezed her hand back, smiling, “I love you too.” Leaning down, he pressed a kiss to her lips, his hand coming up to cup her cheek. Nothing short of zombies breaking down the door could sour his mood right now and he was pretty sure that even if zombies did try to get into their room, he’d be able to create a Patronus so powerful that all that would be left of them would be piles of dust. After a few moments, Hugo pulled back slightly, smiling down at Juno and ran his fingers through her hair, “It all feels just that little bit more real now, doesn’t it?” Not that their marriage hadn’t felt real without rings, but now whenever Hugo looked at his left hand, he’d know that ring was there for a reason.

“It does,” she said, tracing his jaw with her fingertips. She’d wanted it to be real, wanted to make it work from the beginning. And now that she’d accepted it, she wanted it to last, more than ever.

Hugo pressed a kiss to Juno’s forehead before he sat back and simply looked at her for a moment before reaching out to take her hands in his, “So, there is something I wanted to talk to you about,” He had been wanting to bring up the name topic for awhile, but he had said, back when they’d first realized that they’d gotten married that he wasn’t going to push her to change her name at the time, but now it was three months later and they were sure that this was going to work out. “Have you given any thought, recently, to taking my last name? Or even hyphenating?”

“I have, actually,” she confessed, “Ever since that awkward conversation with Charles Xavier.” During which, among other faux pas, she had introduced herself by her maiden name, and the professor had had to point out that her name ought to be Weasley now. She still hadn’t quite gotten used to saying it out loud.

“Didn’t we technically have to decide that when we signed the marriage license?” she asked. “What does it actually say?”

Hugo remembered that conversation, because he’d gotten rather protective over Juno when Charles had been talking to her. “I’m not certain.” Hugo glanced around the room, trying to recall where they’d put the marriage license then got to his feet and headed towards one of the desks, “You’ve still been using MacGuff in classes, correct?” It was clear to him now that they were going to have to start storing important documents in a place where they’d remember it, but then again those first two weeks were somewhat of a blur, so it was understandable that they may not remember where they’d put a few things.

“I haven’t updated my driver’s license yet, or anything,” she said, feeling a little guilty about the fact. Maybe she should have. She turned to watch him shuffling through the desks, and tried to remember what they were doing with their important papers. “Did we make a file with bank statements, and stuff? Maybe it’s in there.”

Unless they’d framed it, and it was propped up in some corner, somewhere, waiting to be hung up with various pieces of artwork that they’d deemed wall-worthy. “Anyway, which do you think sounds better? Juno MacGuff-Weasley, or just Juno Weasley?”

She could vaguely remember having a similar conversation at the courthouse, but it was almost like watching someone else’ life on youtube. Which was kind of frustrating. But at least now they were on solid ground.

“If my mother knew there were important documents I couldn’t find, she’d more than likely have a fit. She is very organized and taught my sister and I to be organized as well, but living with my father, there are times when the organization goes out the window.” Hugo smirked at Juno as he realized that in a way they were sort of like his parents except reversed; however he was much more a mixture of both of them. It was actually rather amusing when he thought about it. “I’m sure we’ll find it eventually. I mean there are only so many places it can be.” Turning, he leaned against the desk as he thought about the options, “I think they both have a certain ring to them, but it is up to you which one you’d rather use.” Hugo didn’t want to make all the decisions for them, especially when it came to something like this; he wanted Juno to have that choice.

Juno rolled her eyes. “Okay, but I’ve had about enough of people pretending they don’t have an opinion just because they don’t think they should interfere,” she said, pointing at him. “Tact is appreciated, but I want to know what you really think.”

She grinned to show she wasn’t really upset, and pushed herself up to cross the room and wrap her arms around his waist. “Juno Marie Weasley,” she murmured, rubbing her cheek against his shirt, almost catlike. She’d probably kept MacGuff as a second middle name, or something, but it wasn’t really important. “Says that we can find the paperwork later.”

Hugo smiled as he wrapped his arms around her, “Well, if you want my opinion, I think that Juno Marie Weasley has a rather nice ring to it.” He was glad that she wanted to take his last name as it and the addition of the rings made their marriage seem that much more real. “Hugo and Juno Weasley. I like it.” He knew that he was probably grinning like an idiot, but he didn’t really care at the moment, because he was happy and if anyone was going to say anything to them about their marriage then they were just going to find themselves on the receiving end of a few rather inventive hexes.

She smiled back at him, rising on her tiptoes and pulling him down for another kiss. She had a feeling they’d reached a similar conclusion in the courthouse that day, but it was nice to know that they could get there without the help of Colligo magic--even if it did take more work. Life was about the journey, right? Not just the destination. And it was well worth it.

“Ready to unwrap your present yet?”

Hugo’s browse rose slightly at her question, but he smirked and nodded, “I’d like that.” So far this night had gone much better then Hugo had expected and he was sure that the rest of the evening could only get better. Unless of course zombies decided to suddenly burst into the room, but again, they would find themselves on the wrong end of a rather nasty hex if they attempted to ruin this evening for them, “Should I close my eyes or something first?” He asked, tucking a loose strand of dark hair behind her ear as he gazed down at her.

“Nah,” she said, nuzzling his hand with her cheek. “It’s right here.” Sure, she’d gotten him a little something else, but he could open that whenever.

His smirk widened slightly and he nodded, “Ah, I see. Is there a specific way I should unwrap my present?” As he spoke, his free hand moved to the hem of her shirt and slid beneath it, his fingers splayed out across the warm skin of her stomach. A few months ago he wouldn’t have been half as confident in this situation as he was now and he was quite relieved that he no longer had to worry if he sounded ridiculous or was doing something the wrong way, because with Juno he knew that she wouldn’t laugh at him; well ok, so even he had laughed at himself a few times, but he knew that Juno would never do it to make fun of him.

Juno shook her head, rubbing his arms in slow, gentle motions. She liked the feel of his hands on her skin, and she enjoyed getting to know the things he liked as well. Even if they had a few awkward moments now and then, they worked through them together. “Any way you want.”

With his hand on her stomach, Hugo, gently guided Juno back towards the bed. Once they were close enough to the bed that she could sit, if she wanted to, he leaned down and kissed her again. He had always heard all that rubbish about your heart beat rising or your toes curling every time you were close to or kissed your soul mate and now he understood just what everyone had been talking about. “I love you.” He whispered against Juno’s lips, as both hands rested on her hips before he began to slide her shirt up her torso and chest, stopping only when he had to wait for her to raise her arms.
“I love you,” she echoed, shivering pleasantly at the feel of her shirt sliding over her skin. She stayed standing, but lifted her arms, breaking the kiss to shrug out of the shirt, revealing the bra she had gotten especially for the occasion. It reminded her of origami paper, and had a matching pair of lacy panties to go with it, as Hugo would soon discover--and it showed off Juno’s albeit modest curves to full advantage, if she did say so herself.

Her own hands slid down toward his waistband, and up under his shirt for a moment as she took her time unbuttoning his trousers. “Have I told you lately how handsome you are?”

Hugo dropped the shirt to the floor once it was clear of Juno’s hands and smirked as he took in her bra; over the last three months, Hugo was pretty sure Juno had bought more underwear and lingerie than either of his other girlfriends had in the time they’d dated, but he certainly wasn’t complaining. “Perhaps as often as I’ve told you how beautiful you are.” Hugo knew that if Jamie ever heard him he’d tease him forever, but when Hugo was with Juno, he really didn’t care what anyone else thought of him except her.

His hands roamed along her newly exposed skin for a moment or two as they slid down to the waistband of her pants and began undoing them as he leaned in and began kissing along her neck and collarbone. Their height difference had taken some getting used to when they were intimate, but they were both rather imaginative and were able to make it work.

As he began to unfasten her jeans, and push them down around her hips, she did the same with his. Then she stepped back toward the bed, tugging him along with her. He was much taller, yes, but on the bed, it didn’t matter so much. There, they could explore and experiment to their hearts’ content.

Hugo had already taken his shoes off some time ago, so it was easier to step out of his pants and crawled onto the bed with Juno. Once they’d gotten comfortable around each other after the whole Soap Opera thing had worn off and they’d begun sharing a bed again as opposed to Hugo sleeping in the other dorm bed, he’d used a spell to merge the two beds, which had been much easier then trying to request a bigger bed or another room. Speaking of magic, Hugo reached for his wand, muttered a spell and the lights dimmed, leaving the majority of the light in the room coming from the candles he had lit earlier then he tossed his wand aside, figuring he’d find it later. “I must say, I like this present quite a lot.” He smirked as he traced a finger along the top of one of the cups of Juno’s bra, blue eyes alternating from watching his finger to gazing into Juno’s eyes.

“I like it, too,” she said, laughing softly as she arched her shoulder blades, and pressed her bosom into his hands. “It’s smooth, and silky...” She licked her lips and ran a hand up and down his back. “I like the way it feels on my skin.”

She liked the way his skin felt against hers, too.

“You’re slightly evil, you know that?” Hugo teased, shifting slightly so that his hips weren’t pressed up against her quite so much as his finger reached the middle of the bra. He wanted to make this last as long as possible; or at least until they couldn’t take it any longer and had to give in to their needs. “I do believe that if you had gone to Hogwarts you would have been sorted into Slytherin for sure.” He actually wasn’t sure at all what house Juno would have been sorted into, had she gone to Hogwarts, but it was fun to speculate.

She smirked up at him, arching her back to give him better access--and chasing the warmth of his body with her own. “So I’ve been told.” Of course, some other people--namely Sirius--said she would have been a Gryffindor. So who really knew?

“That doesn’t bother you, does it? That I’m a little bit naughty?”

Hugo shook his head, smiling fondly down at her before pressing a quick kiss to her lips, one hand sliding up and down her side, enjoying the feel of her warm skin beneath his fingers, “Not at all. I believe we balance each other out quite well. Would you have thought about shagging me when we first met? I don’t believe it’s many people’s first thought upon meeting me.” He knew that most people, upon meeting Hugo, thought he was quite boring and sex appeal was not something he usually exuded unlike other members of his family. Hugo was much more like his Uncle Percy then anyone else in his family.

“I don’t know, I might have,” she confessed, running her fingers through his hair. “I have a thing for wizards.” She laughed, the sound rich and inviting. She had been attracted to him fairly early on, even if it had taken her a while to act on that attraction. “What about you--did you think about shagging me when we first met?”

The slight flush that colored Hugo’s cheeks at Juno’s question was more of an answer than any words could have been; it was curse of being a Weasley. Weasleys blushed at the drop of a hat and Hugo was no different. “I may have,” That was not something he would have admitted to five months earlier, but being as comfortable with Juno as he was now, he wasn’t exactly embarrassed about the fact that he had thought it, but that he hadn’t been able to act on his feelings for her until they were influenced by one of Asaph’s events.

She smiled, pulling him down for a lingering kiss. “I’m glad we’re together, Hugo,” she murmured, stroking his skin. “But would you mind terribly if we save the pillow-talk until after the shagging? I’ve been looking forward to this...all day.”

Hugo laughed softly into the kiss and nodded as he began kissing along her neck, “Alright. I think I can manage to fulfill that request.” It always amused Hugo when Juno would use random bits of slang, that he was fairly certain she had probably picked up from Sirius. He too had been looking forward to this all day and he certainly wasn’t about to disappoint his wife after what had been quite possibly his best Valentine’s Day yet and he was rather certain that with Juno, he was bound to have even more perfect Valentine’s Days in the future.
