WHO: Sirius Black and Remus Lupin
WHAT: A lazy night in. Zombies are not invited.
WHEN: Evening on Tuesday, February 14th.
WHERE: Their flat.
STATUS: Medium/High. Incomplete.

It wasn't that Sirius didn't like Valentines day. Back at school he'd mostly gone around stealing and/or ruining other people's dates in Hogsmeade, and once he and Pete had spied on James and Lily from behind a newspaper. He'd just never been one for the big romantic, flowers and chocolates and teddy bears kind of thing. Anyway, just because he was with Remus, the fact remained that they were both blokes, and they just didn't really have that kind of relationship. Not to mention there was a bloody zombie invasion going on outside (Again. Honestly, this place needed some fresh ideas, because Sirius really found it hard to care as much the second time around) and that didn't really lend itself to 'going down the pub'  or whatever lazy thing they might otherwise had done.

So, there was a mostly eaten takeaway spread over the coffee table, charms placed on the doors and windows to block out the sounds of the city being torn up by the undead, and a film playing on the television. Sirius wasn't very good at paying attention to this particular muggle piece of technology, but at least this film seemed to have bouts of stuff blowing up every ten minutes or so to separate all the talking, so he supposed it could be worse.

He'd stretched out across the sofa, feet resting up in the far armrest, his head on a cushion on top of Remus' lap. You had to have a cushion if you were going to use Remus Lupin as a pillow, he'd long ago realised, due to the bloke being mostly sharp joints and limbs. On the screen, things seemed to have stopped blowing up for a little while, and Sirius twisted to look up at the werewolf. "I can see up your nose," he commented matter-of-factly.

Remus didn't mind staying in, especially with zombie invasion; however, it seemed that staying in was all they ever did. Sure, sometimes they went down to one of the pubs, but that just felt like they were mates hanging out, not that they were...well Remus wasn't really sure how to define their relationship. He knew that Sirius loved him, but what exactly did that mean to the animagus? Remus knew that Sirius didn't like getting all sentimental and mushy which was one reason he hadn't really brought it up. Remus knew that he'd have to eventually, but part of him worried that if he started asking questions then Sirius might just get tired of him and end it and Remus didn't know what he'd do if that happened. So for the moment, Remus was content to go a long with whatever Sirius wanted to do.

When Sirius spoke, Remus quirked a brow, "Has anyone ever told you that you may be the least romantic person in the world?" His tone was light, clearly teasing Sirius and he brought a hand up to run his fingers through Sirius' dark hair.

Sirius let his eyes drift lazily closed as Remus' fingers threaded through his hair. Perhaps it was part of the dog-animagus thing, but he really liked having his hair stroked. Especially by Remus, who had hands that were a bit like porn. "It's all part of my charm," he told him, shifting contentedly against the cushion to get more comfortable. "And it's not my fault your nose is right there. Least you don't have a cold."

There was a reason he didn't want to go out much right now. More accurately, there was a reason he didn't want Remus going out. The last time there'd been inferi running around, after all, Sirius himself had died. If that didn't make you realise how dangerous those things could be, nothing would. And even if Remus' death before had led to him getting his arse in gear and well... to this, it wasn't exactly something Sirius wanted to repeat. Overprotective to the end.

Sirius opened one eye to peer up at Remus. "Anyway, this way it'll be more of surprise when I do do something nice."

"Charm? Is that what you call it?" Had Remus know how Sirius described his hands, Sirius would have been met with one of Remus' patented stares, which usually said 'Have you been knocked on the head by a Bludger recently?' or something to that affect. "Well, if you weren't laying in my lap then you wouldn't have to look up my nose, so you have no room to complain." He quirked a brow as he continued running his fingers through Sirius' hair, which really was quite nice and soft and he could see now why all the girls in school had always wanted to touch it.

Remus knew nothing of his or Sirius' prior deaths in Colligo and had be known, he would have understood exactly why Sirius had been wanting to stay in so much more since the zombies showed up, but for the moment he couldn't help but feel like Sirius was attempting to hide their relationship despite the fact that there was about a handful of people who already knew because of his previous incarnation. "The day you do something nice, I may just keel over from shock."

"Hah!" Sirius sat up so sharply he only very narrowly avoided headbutting Remus, a fact that was mostly lost on him as the twisted around the beam widely across at the other man. "Well, Moony. You are about to be shocked. And surprised. And impressed. And... shocked again." He scrambled off the sofa, managing to knock his shin against the coffee table and swearing quite loudly before he bounded off into the next room.

Okay, so perhaps he didn't like Valentines day. But he liked Remus. Quite a lot, actually. And he'd probably have bought it for him even if there hadn't been some sort of stupid commercial holiday coming up, just because Sirius liked buying people stuff. He was much happier giving gifts than he was receiving them - a neat little flip from the lifestyle he'd enjoyed (Or not) while growing up.

Still, Sirius' gift-buying abilities hadn't yet spread into the world of actually wrapping stuff up, and when he returned it was just a plastic bag that contained the set of books that he shoved into Remus' lap. Sirius was too pleased with himself to sit down, and instead opted to stand beside the sofa, bouncing excitedly on the balls of his feet.
