WHO: Charlie Weasley and OPEN
WHAT: A working weekend.
WHEN: Saturday lunchtime.
WHERE: Colligo Stables.
RATING: Low for now.
STATUS: In Progress/Open

Charlie was in the paddock that ran along the back of the stables. They'd got a new Colt in that week, a beautiful dark thing, but completely untrained. He'd spent most the day before out with the animal, and had planned most of today doing the same. He'd brought one of the dogs with him for some company - the large Alsation that was currently napping, stretched out just outside the stable door.

It was bitterly cold, but Charlie had stripped off his coat and scarf and chucked them over the fence that separated the grassy area from the dusty floor in front of the main building. Under his freckles, his cheeks were flushed pink, and his breath kept billowing out in front of him in misty clouds. The young horse itself - still without a name - had just cantered to a halt in one corner, tossing its head and watching Charlie through one wide eye as the man wandered back towards his coat. Charlie chucked the harness he'd been using over the wooden fence and rummaged in his abandoned coat pockets, checking his phone briefly before finally fishing out a slightly battered apple. When he turned, the Colt was stood hopefully behind him.

"You're gonna have to wear it eventually, mate," Charlie pointed out, before rolling his eyes and handing the apple over. He was too soft with them, that was his problem. The second-eldest Weasley patted the arch of the creature's neck firmly, looking back towards the main door to check the dog hadn't done a runner. That was when he noticed the newcomer approaching the small cluster of buildings.

"You okay?" Charlie called out.

Kristina was lost, and the kind of lost she was used to being. Normally she had no problem walking in circles around town but being out in the middle of no where was almost more than she could handle. She shivered seeing her breath before her and almost yelped when she heard a mans voice and a gigantic dog.

Taking a deep breath she decided to see if the man calling out would be able to point her back towards town. She didn't know anyone hardly in Colligo and was trying to go on an adventure to meet new people. "Um, excuse me?" Her voice barely was above a whisper but it was worth a try.

Rounding the corner she saw the beautiful animal and its handler at the same time. She had never been around horses but loved they way they carried themselves and their spirit. Straightening her back she decided to reach down to scratch the dog infront of her and wait for a reply before barging in on whatever he was doing.

Charlie peered across until he caught sight of the young woman approaching the dog, currently ducking down to scratch him behind the ears. She was blonde and rather pretty, probably about Alex's age. Even though the German Shepard was massive, and perhaps looked a bit frightening, he was really something of a soft-hearted idiot. Charlie smiled vaguely as his pet lifted its head to recieve the scratch behind the ears, pink tongue lolling out of his toothy mouth in a canine grin.

Charlie gave the horse one last pat on the neck, before bracing his scarred hands on the fence and climbing easily over it. Brushing the horse hair from his jumper, he jogged over to join the girl. "His name's Faris," he told her, nodding to the dog with an easy smile before adding, "Are you okay?"

Krisina smiled half heartedly at the canine and his goofy face. "Hi Faris" her voice was soft as she remembered that her parents once had a dog she thought it was a lab but those times were still cloudy to her. She couldn't help but bite her lip to fight back the tears that were welling up thinking of how she used to be.

The same words came again "Are you you okay?" She had been asked that more times than she could count in her life and most the time it ended in no. Here though she felt that she was okay for the first time in a long time, a little lost but alive none the less. "Yea, I just am really really lost."

Kristina stood as the man approached and offered her hand "My name is Krisinta." She normally introduced herself as Bree but it had been about a week since she was able to deal with that part of her. "I really don't know anyone around here and never travel away from the city. Its just that today was pretty and I went for a walk and when I looked up I spotted your dog here." She noticed she was rambling and paused laughing at the awkward moment. She decided to wait and give him a chance to introduce himself and perhaps tell her where she was.

"Ah," Charlie grinned and nodded, taking the hand she offered him. "That'll happen back here." The park and the surrounding forests and slopes were kind of confusing if you weren't used to them. Charlie had come to work here pretty much every day since he'd arrived, and had riden and walked the dogs around them a million times, so he knew them like the back of his hand. But he knew how easy it was for people to get lost.

"Charlie," he introduced himself, shaking the offered hand. He grinned easily at the little laugh she gave. Charlie was the kind of bloke who'd smile at the drop of a hat, easy-going until the end. "I can show you the way back to the main park?" he finally offered. "I've just got to get this one in," he nodded back to where the young horse was happily attempting to eat every scrap of grass in the paddock. "You want a cup of tea or something while I get sorted? It's bloody freezing."

Kristina listened to him some how the way he spoke to her made her smile. She felt like a normal person free of her monsters. "It seems I get lost just about everywhere I go." A short laugh came out as her cheeks started to turn pink. "Nice to meet you Charlie!" She shook his hand being a bit slow to drop it again embarrassing herself.

Her eyes went past him to the majestic animal eating like it was the first time in his life. Tiltering her head she watched for a couple of minutes, "I have never seen a horse in person before." It was a statement but for some reason she felt that it needed to come out. It was nice feeling like her old self able to make decisions. "Yes tea would be wonderful, it is so cold out here I can't feel my toes."

"Really?" Charlie turned to look at the Colt. Perhaps it shouldn't seem weird to him that someone hadn't seen a horse before - they hadn't been his speciality back home, but there'd been plently in the fields surrounding the Burrow. He supposed not everyone had had the same childhood he had. "Well, if you ever fancy a ride, we do first few lessons free for kidnappees." He grinned at her, before gesturing her to walk in front of him into the main stables.

Stepping through the doorm he waved her past the stalls and into the back room that served as an office, where there was a messy desk and a kettle, with several chipped mugs. Not very neat, hardly professional-loooking, but it was warm thanks to the charms he'd set up when winter had moved in. Charlie pulled his wand from his back pocket of his jeans and flicked it towards the kettle, which switched on and began to bubble.

"Take a seat," he gestured to one of the faded, overstuffed seats. "Make yourself at home." Faris had followed them in, and stuck his nose into Charlie's palm. The redheaded man swatted the dog away friendily, and the animal turned its attention to Kristina. "I'll just go bring the horse in. One second."

He grinned warmly at her and ducked back out of the room, leaving her to the dog and the boiling kettle as he went to round up the animal in question.

Kristina was enjoying the cool air as her face was starting to loose some of the embarrassed red. "I'm not sure on that one, but I will keep it in mind." She looked around the property and realized how beautiful it was hidden away from the city. "Might just enjoy being kidnapped if I am kept in this quiet place!" She joked back at him it felt good to be able to use her brain to communicate.

Stepping into the warm humble looking office she rubbed her hands together and stomped her feet in attempt to get blood circulating again. Noticing him taking out his wand she had a flash back to the last time she was in Colligo. Sometimes she could remember other times were fuzzy but it seemed like she knew a wizard previously.

Curiously she watched him realizing how gentle he was with everything he did. The dog that had scared her in the first place now was laying his head on her legs. She scratched behind his ears kissing him softly all over his fuzzy head. "I will be here when you return." She whispered as the door shut behind him.

Charlie managed to get the leading reigns over the disgruntled horse's head and neck and pulled the animal firmly along behind him towards the stables. He loved the horses, he really did. In the same way he loved Bess and the dogs and every one of his dragons back home - Charlie had long preferred animals to people, even if he was improving here. He had Alex, after all, and his batallion of nephews to force him to enjoy human company.

Once the horse was safely stored in its stall and munching on some hay from the holder, Charlie turned back towards the back office. He slipped through the door with a broad smile, brushing horse hair off his hands and only his stained, dirty jeans. "Sorry about that. How d'you have your tea?"

He wandered over to the kettle, although he only collected a couple of chipped mugs before he charmed the tea to make itself. His Mother would have scolded him. While the hot drinks busied themselves, the redheaded man turned back to smile pleasantly across at the girl sat with his bloody ridiculous dog. "You been in Colligo long?"
