Rose had been through many times in the past few years and had survived to tell the tale. This situation wouldn’t be any different and she would make sure of it. She had lived through something worse than this before after all and it isn’t like she had been stuck with someone awful. She had been more than willing to go ahead and let him visit his wife whenever he wanted to, which was easier given her friendship with Ianto so she had the option of talking to someone so Jasper and Alice could speak together.

They had visited again earlier, easily done because of the darker skies, and had just arrived back. She felt bad every time she had to bring him away from Alice since she understood how it was to be away from someone she liked. Hanging up her coat by the door, she glanced to Jasper before giving him a bit of a smile.

“You okay?”

The last week had been much stranger than Jasper would have thought possible. Not only had he kissed someone else on New Year's Eve when he'd meant to kiss Alice, but then he had become stuck with her and worst of all she was human. Ok, so it wasn't the fact that she was human that was the bad part, but that he was still new to the Vegetarian lifestyle of his family and Rose smelled really good. The one saving grace in this whole situation was that Alice had gotten stuck with a friend of Rose's so he had been able to see his wife quite often during the last few days and that had helped immensely with his ability to cope with being around the scent of fresh human blood.

He nodded in response to Rose's question as he hung up his own jacket, "I'm fine. Thank you again for being so understanding about my situation." Of course Jasper was pretty sure that anyone would be understanding when the options were, get eaten or not get eaten. "Being able to see Alice has made this situation much more bearable."

"You don't have to thank me!" And she meant it. After all she didn't have that much of a choice but either way, even if he wasn't a potential risk, she would have let him visit his wife. It hurt to be away from loved ones, she had enough experience when it came to that, and she would never make another person go through it. It didn't accomplish anyway and it wouldn't be nice of her to keep them apart more than they had to be.

"I'm happy that you're finding it better, with Alice being there to see. Hopefully this will end soon and you can go back to the woman you want."

Usually these experiments ended quickly and she just hoped that it was the case this time too.

"I am able to control myself most of the time, but I'm still new to my family's diet so having Alice around does make it quite a bit better." Jasper smiled and ran a hand through his curly blond hair, "She gives me the strength to refrain from giving in to my natural urges." The hint of a southern drawl accompanied his words, something that even after all these years, hadn't gone away. "It occurs to me that we haven't actually taken the time to get to know one another." It seemed strange that they had been together for practically a week now and hadn't really spoken much, but then again they had spent any time that they could with Ianto and Alice, which meant Jasper had been spending much of that time with his wife.

"In which case I am more than happy to let you see her whenever you need to." She wasn't about to risk herself by not making the effort to take him to the one person who kept him controlled. It was either that or end up hurt and she would rather not be attacked. She glanced up at him as he continued talking, her eyes starting to look guilty.

"You're right," she replied, moving to sit on the couch. "We haven't really talked, have we?"

Mostly because she went with him to see Alice so many times that they were barely ever alone to talk.

"We should use this time to get to know one another then." Jasper said as he sat down on the arm of the couch, facing Rose, "What would you like to know about me, Rose Tyler?" Being in Colligo, Jasper had quickly realized that there wasn't very much one had to keep secret here if they weren't exactly human unlike at home where they constantly had to hide what they really were. It was actually liberating to be able to be honest and open about it without fear that they would be persecuted for revealing their secret.

It was only now that Rose realised, rather randomly, how many people called her by her full name in conversation. God knows where the thought had come from but it had appeared and it took her a moment to actually consider the question. She tilted her head as she thought then gave him a slightly sheepish grin. "Why don't you tell me what you want to tell me? About where you're from, things like that."

It was better than her asking awkward questions.
