Lily hated being apart from James and always had, but she at least knew he was safe and still here. Not having him here had been hard, knowing he was dead back home, and here she still had the chance to contact him or see him. And having Luke with her gave her the chance to remain settled. She trusted James with him, of course she did, but she found it hard to be away from him for too long.

And it didn’t hurt that Chuck wasn’t all that bad.

She put Luke in his chair to play with his toys, his stomach already full thankfully, before she made a start on making something. She didn’t mind doing that since she was use to it anyway with James. Besides it kept her busy and since she didn’t work, yet, she didn’t have much she could do other than things in the house or the occasional walk when she could. She just remained grateful that she had not found herself with someone not willing to let her visit James especially for Luke’s sake.

Though this whole being-forced-into-unions-with-people-you-normally-wouldn't-really-talk-to-otherwise thing was a little weird, Chuck had to admit that Lily was really nice, and was grateful that he'd gotten stuck with someone like her. Things were awkward at first, as they'd both been separated from their respective spouses, and Chuck had no idea how to act around a baby, but once they'd gotten past all of that, he found that Lily was fairly easy to talk to, and her company was enjoyable.

Also, he had no problems letting her go visit her husband, and she didn't seem to mind going with him to check up on Becky.

"You need help making dinner?" He asked, as he walked into the kitchen.

"Sure if you'd like to." She didn't mind, though she was use to cooking alone. James was useless in the kitchen even when using his wand or anything like that. However if he wanted to help she wasn't going to turn that down since it really meant they would be eating quicker and therefore finished quicker. Luckily they could find something to talk about anyway.

"I'm going with the lazy pasta option," she went on to say with a laugh as she started off preparations, just letting him get involved where he wanted to. "Though sometimes the lazy option tastes the best."
