Who: Hugo Weasley and Juno Macguff
Where: Juno's dorm
When: Saturday, December 10th. Morning
What: That awkward moment when you wake up and realize you got married randomly
Status: In Progress.

As the sun shown in through the window, Hugo groaned and rolled over, not at all ready to get up yet. It was Saturday morning after all and even he slept in on Saturdays. Sure, he had an exam to study for, but that wasn't until Tuesday and he had the whole weekend to study, for now he planned on getting a few more hours of sleep. Pulling the blankets up towards his shoulders, Hugo attempted to roll onto his stomach, which was when he became aware that there was someone else in bed with him. A female someone. Opening his eyes slowly, he froze for a moment when he saw Juno, but at the same time it all came rushing back to him. They had gotten married. He was currently in her dorm. In her bed, because they had gotten married almost two weeks ago. For the last two weeks they've spent the majority of their time together except when they had classes and just the night before they'd gone to Charlie's for dinner.

Rolling onto his back, Hugo brought both hands up and ran them over his face and through his hair as he tried to figure out what he was supposed to do now. He supposed the right thing to do was to wake Juno up, because there was quite a lot they needed to talk about. However, when he rolled back over onto his side, prepared to wake her up, he couldn't help but notice how cute she looked while she slept and he hated to have to wake her, but he knew that he had to. "Juno..." He said softly as he shook her shoulder gently. This was bound to be interesting.

In her half-conscious state, Juno tried to shrug off the hand that shook her shoulder, burrowing closer to her husband. It took a few moments for the thought to sink in. Husband? Had she really gotten married, and not been arbitrarily paired off, like before? Was she still actually, legally married?

She was suddenly wide awake, sitting bolt upright in bed, eyes wide as she stared at her left hand. "Oh my god, Hugo!"

Hugo sat back as Juno sat up, giving her some space, but also careful not to fall off the edge of the bed, "Good morning." Now that Juno was awake Hugo became increasingly aware that he was only wearing boxer shorts and despite the fact that he distinctly remembered that she had certainly seen much more of him during the last two weeks, he suddenly felt somewhat awkward, "Should I put a shirt on?" He wasn't exactly shamed of what had occurred over the last two weeks, but he didn't want to make Juno uncomfortable, especially since they definitely needed to talk about it all now.

Juno's cheeks flushed as she realized she was wearing only panties and a flimsy little camisole. They were cute, she thought, glancing down at herself. Maybe even sexy. But had she really married Hugo?

She glanced over at him, and smiled a little, remembering the feel of his muscled torso beneath her fingertips. That had been real.

"Only if you're cold," she said. "It doesn't bother me if you don't. You...you look good."

Well as long as Juno wasn't uncomfortable and had yet to kick him out of bed, Hugo decided to stay where he was for the moment and he couldn't help the way his cheeks also flushed slightly, "Thank you. You look good as well." He paused for a moment or two before speaking again, "So, we should probably talk." This was definitely a first for Hugo, not only getting married randomly, but also hooking up, but then again if they were married could it really be defined as hooking up? Hugo wasn't sure, nor was he sure exactly how this conversation should begin.

"Yeah," she said, chewing her lip. "I mean...I think this is really real? You know? Like, legal. But...were we even together before this?" She looked and sounded pretty uncertain. Relationships were not her strong point, and everything had been so crazy. She didn't know which end was up, even now.

"Seeing as how we went to City Hall I would say it is quite legal." Even if they had gotten married during one of the crazy things that happened in the city, Hugo doubted Asaph would make it so easy on them as to have there be no consequences of their actions. Juno'a next question gave Hugo pause for a moment to contemplate the answer, "I don't believe so. However, I have come to realize that the feelings I have for you are in fact real and not solely and after affect of thinking that we were Hiccup and Astrid." He wasn't sure if that would make any difference to Juno, but he felt that she should know. Especially in this situation.

Juno nodded. She still wasn't sure how she felt, but she wasn't upset that it had been Hugo she had gotten tangled up with. He was like a bright spot shining through otherwise murky water. "I really like you, too, Hugo," she confessed. "And maybe it would have turned into more, if we keep spending time with each other like we've been. I just..."

She sighed, and ran her hands through her hair. "I seem to have a habit of doing everything backwards."

"I'm beginning to think that no one does anything the correct way here." Even before this Hugo had gotten the impression that relationships in Colligo weren't exactly conventional in the least. "It's probably too soon to make a decision as far as what we should do considering we've only been in our right minds for less than half an hour and I will admit that I am not exactly skilled when it comes to relationships, but if you wanted to give us a shot....or if you wanted a divorce..." Hugo dropped his gaze as he fiddled with the sheets, his cheeks flushing even darker; he may have been incredibly smart, but he was still Ron Weasley's son and didn't have nearly as much self confidence as he pretended to have.

"I don't mean just here," she said in a rush. "I mean...back home. I hooked up with my best guy friend and wound up having his baby. Now this. I've tried to do the right thing, but I don't know if the right thing would be to stay together, or have it annulled. Can we even have it annulled if we've...you know. Consummated...?"

She swallowed. "I mean, I don't want to decide something and wind up with one of us regretting it later. And what if..." She had so many thoughts going through her mind just then, she could hardly keep them straight. "What if I'm pregnant? We weren't exactly being careful. Should that even be a factor?"

Hugo wished he had all the answers for her, but this was just as crazy for him too. Reaching over, he did the only thing he could think of and gently cupped her cheek, more as a gesture of comfort than anything else and brought his gaze back up to her, "If you got pregnant during this, you have my word that I'd be here for you and the baby. No matter what." He dropped his hand after that and licked his lips, "That is if you wanted me to. I don't want to presume anything of course."

Juno could feel the emotions prickling behind her eyes, and constricting her throat, but she couldn't cry--even when his touch made her chest ache. Did she want him in her life? Sure. He was her friend. They'd been drawn to each other even when they had no memory of who they were--so she knew that it was true, what he said about his feelings being more than just the side effects of turning into their Halloween costume characters.

"But what if I'm not good with kids? I already gave one up because I didn't think that I was ready. And now I've made yet another impulse decision. I have a track record of making stupid mistakes."

There was the opening that Hugo had been waiting for when he'd come over originally to study, but he wasn't about to get into her problems with Sam and Caden just yet. They had other things to figure out first, "Juno, I think what you need to ask yourself if, does this feel like a mistake? I know it was sudden and were we not compelled to do it, we wouldn't have moved quite so fast, but do you think it was a mistake?" As he spoke, the hand that had just been cupping her face had moved to take one of her hands and gave it a reassuring squeeze.

Juno took a deep breath, squeezing Hugo's hand a little too tightly before she caught herself and tried to relax. "I don't know," she said, "All I know is I've been over-thinking everything lately. Second-guessing myself. I was so sure about you for the past two weeks, but now...I'm trying to remember why I was so afraid to get close to you before."

Hugo let her squeeze his hand as hard as she needed to, trying not to wince. He knew that this couldn't be easy for her after everything that she'd been through, but he wanted to try and make this as easy for her as possible, "If time is what you need, Juno then I'll give you that. I don't want to push you into making a decision now." Of course he hoped that she would decide to give them a try, but he wanted her to make a decision that would make her happy in the long run.

"I don't think I want to stop seeing you," she said, confident about that much. "The past two weeks have been good, and I'm always happier when we're together than when I'm by myself. I'm still probably going to be struggling with some things, but it's better knowing that someone's got my back."

Hugo couldn't help but smile a little at Juno's answer and squeezed her hand again, "I know you're going through some things right now and I'd like to be there for you as much as I can, Juno." And he meant it; he wanted to be there and help Juno through what she was going through.

"I don't know if there's anything that anyone can do about that," she said, her voice quavering a little. She was normally such a strong person, but she was still figuring out who she was and what she wanted to do with her life. She'd made some decisions that could never be unmade, and certain events had made her question herself, and her judgement more than ever. And she wasn't even sure why.

"It's like, I'm fine as long as I don't think about it, but then something happens to remind me, and I have to start all over again."

Hugo knew that he couldn't dance around the subject any longer and knew that it couldn't be good for Juno to keep it all inside, so squeezing her hand again, he took a deep breath before he started speaking again, "Perhaps the problem is that you don't like to think about it. I mean, if you bottle it all up then you're never going to be able to work through it." As he waited for Juno to speak again, he hoped that she wouldn't get angry at him for bringing it up.

Juno sighed. "I don't like to think about it. And everyone keeps rubbing my face in it, and telling me how I feel, but not how to change it! I hate it when they do that." She stopped, and tried to rein herself in. Hugo didn't deserve to have her take her frustrations out on him.

"Yeah, maybe I have been acting like a jealous ex, and maybe I'm being a little hypocritical, after dating an ex Death Eater. But I'm not the only one setting a double standard. I'm not the one treating people like yo-yos. And even if I forget all of that, the fact remains that Caden would never have become a target for Lucifer if I hadn't given him up. I thought I was doing what was best for him, and I wound up putting him in danger, because I didn't know Jack about the Winchesters. And I have to live with knowing I'm responsible for that."

She let out another frustrated breath, and tried to pull away toward the other side of the bed. "I'm done talking about it, Hugo. Talking doesn't do me any good. I just want to forget about it."

Being half Weasley and half Granger meant Hugo could be rather stubborn at times and now was one of those times. Not letting go of Juno's hand, he gave her a sympathetic look, "Juno, forgetting about it isn't going to fix anything. And considering where we live no matter what Caden probably would have been in danger at one point or another regardless. I don't mean to upset you, but I do think this is something you need to talk about if you're ever going to work through it." He didn't ask about her previous boyfriend, because that wasn't what was important at the moment and he was sure that previous relationships was going to be a conversation they had at a later date, "You say that no one tells you how to change and that will never happen if you don't talk about it."

Juno gritted her teeth a little, but she stopped trying to pull away. She knew, in her head, that he was only, sincerely trying to help, as was Ariadne--and probably others, if she would open her eyes to it. But she felt...

She wasn't even sure how she felt anymore. Or why she was holding onto it so stubbornly.

Hugo waited until Juno relaxed a little before he went on, "I just don't want you to hold onto something if there is a way for you to work through it. I'm well aware that I don't know all the facts and I won't push you for them either, but I do believe that talking can help no matter what the situation." He wanted to say more. He wanted to ask her what it had been like when she'd been sent home, but he meant what he'd said about not wanting to push her too much. Squeezing her hand again, he brought it up to his lips and kissed her knuckles before setting her hand down, "I only want you to be able to be happy."

"Then don't make me talk about it anymore," she said, pleading with her eyes. "Most of what I've said has been splashed all over in public anyway. Everybody knows my business, and nobody cares enough to stop pretending to mind their own. I feel like I'm just repeating myself over, and over, and never getting anywhere. So, please, can you just help me focus on something good?"

She swallowed hard, glancing down at their hands, then back up. "I don't know what else to do right now."

Part of him wanted to try and get her to talk about it more, but he could see that she was upset and that was the last thing he wanted do, "Alright. I'm sorry." He nodded and squeezed her hand again before releasing it and sliding over a little to wrap his arm around her shoulders. He wasn't going to drop it completely, but for right now he would leave it alone and try to talk about something else, "I'm fairly certain my uncle thinks we're nutters." They had gone to dinner at Charlie's the night before and it was pretty clear that Charlie didn't understand why they had gotten married. Of course now he might.

"It's okay," she said, "I just...I can only deal with so much right now." Unless he had specific questions to direct the conversation, she knew she was only going to run herself into the ground again, and she didn't want that. She didn't want to fight with him. "I think maybe Uncle Charlie is right. We are nutters."

She smiled a little, leaning back against his shoulder. It felt nice. "I'm pretty sure Eames and Ariadne think so too. I think Sirius was was a little bit upset that I got over his brother so fast, even if it was four years for me. The whole transmutable chronology thing just messes everybody up."

"I understand." Hugo sighed softly and pressed a kiss to the top of her head, feeling much less awkward around her than he had when he'd first woken up or when he'd first come over that day almost two weeks ago, "I should probably talk to him and assure him that we aren't completely mad." For once Hugo was glad that neither of his parents were there because it meant he didn't have to try and explain to either of them what exactly had taken place. "You dated Regulus Black?" Hugo had certainly heard of the younger Black before and while most of what he knew was the he had been a Slytherin and a Death Eater, he didn't have a particular opinion on him one way or the other. Hugo didn't believe it judging people prematurely or simply by things that others might find as faults.

Juno nodded, her hair tickling her own skin, and probably Hugo's as well. "He's the only other person I dated, besides you and...well, Paul Bleeker back home. But Reg and I never...you know."

She blushed a little at the thought. There had been an incident when she and Regulus had been swapped with future versions of themselves, who'd eventually had children of their own, but it was probably for the best that she didn't really remember much about that. "We were taking things a lot slower than this, because I was still recovering from the delivery, and stuff."

Her hair did tickle his skin, but it felt nice, "I'll admit, I normally don't do that quite so soon in a relationship, but seeing as how I've only been in three and I've only done that with two of them, I don't know if either of those are very good to go off of." He figured that since they were talking about this now, he should probably be honest with her, "I should also tell you that I'm bisexual. My last relationship had been with my roommates friend last year shortly after Christmas." That all seemed like such a long time ago now since Hugo had come from September back home, but it had been June in Colligo when he'd arrived.

Juno shifted to look up at him, her face showing only mild surprise, followed by acceptance. "I can do bisexual," she said, a hint of teasing in her voice. "Reg and I got gender-swapped while we were together, but not at the same time. We got curious." She left out the part where Reg was already bisexual himself, because that seemed too personal to share. Never let it be said that Juno couldn't employ a little tact...when she wanted to.

She smiled, trying to bring her thoughts back to the here and now. "At least neither of us has any exes to worry about here in Colligo, right? That would be...awkward."

Smiling, Hugo was glad that Juno was so accepting, but then again he'd had a feeling that she would be, "I don't even want to think about what I'd look like as a girl if that happened. And no doubt Jamie would tease me about it for the rest of my life." Ok, so maybe not for the rest of his life, but just until Jamie found something else that caught his attention, "I'm sure you were a good looking bloke however." It was a strange thing to say, but Colligo was strange so in a way it was perfectly normal. "That is a good thing. Although I think the only one you would have to worry about is my ex-girlfriend from Hogwarts. My break ups with my two exes at University were mutual."

"I wasn't as hot a guy as Ariadne," Juno mourned, "But I was only seventeen at the time." She had to laugh a little, if only with relief that the talk of exes and sex changes wasn't becoming as awkward as she might have expected. "Do you really think we can make this work? You and me? Us?"

"Did you look the same even then?" The whole doppelganger was quite intriguing to Hugo and the fact that there was not one but two other girls in Colligo who looked just like Juno, made it even more interesting, "Does it ever get confusing? I mean do people ever come up to you thinking you're Ariadne or your other doppelganger?" This whole conversation was definitely going much better then the previous one, "I do." He turned his head to look down at her, a small smile upon his lips, "If we were simply two strangers who were compelled to get married without any feelings behind it then I'd say no, but I believe it was clear before this that there was something there only neither of us knew exactly how to turn it into something more."

"As girls, we looked the same," Juno said, "As guys, not so much. Ariadne was here before me, so people thought I was a younger version of her, at first. I've never actually met Kitty in person, but one of her friends did get a little confused over the network when I first got back." She shrugged her shoulders.

"Regulus and Ariadne kissed under the mistletoe once--it would have been last year I guess. But then Ariadne and I got caught under the stuff and she had to kiss me too. It was a thing." She smiled as if to say, you know, a Colligo thing. But she smiled even more when Hugo said he thought they had a chance. It was encouraging, in some way that she couldn't quite define.

"I guess its worth a shot."

"I assume this was the same mistletoe that invaded during Christmas in July." Luckily Hugo had been sparred getting caught under it, but he had heard of a couple people who hadn't been so lucky. "That must have been a little odd. I mean kissing someone who looks almost exactly like you." If he had a doppelganger, Hugo certainly wouldn't want to kiss him.

When she smiled, he smiled back, glad that this had worked out so well when it could have easily have gone the other way, "I'd understand of course if you'd like me to go back to Charlie's; I mean if we want to rewind a little and not jump right into living together. And it's be entirely up to you on whether or not you want to actually use my last name for the moment." Hugo certainly wasn't expecting this to be like a traditional marriage right off the bat.

Juno nodded about the strangeness of the mistletoe, falling silent for a moment as she contemplated living arrangements. She hoped she wasn't just throwing herself into this budding relationship as a distraction from other things. It was that, and a good one, but she didn't think that was all it was. And she wanted to find out.

"Well, what do you want to do?" she asked. "The last time I found myself in over my head, I just rolled right over the other person involved, and made all the decisions myself." She was alluding to her pregnancy, of course, but trying not to say so in so many words. "I don't want to do that to you."

Hugo thought for a moment or two before answering, "Well if we do decide to continue living together we should do it because we want to and not because we feel obligated to. I'll admit, I have enjoyed this last two weeks here with you though." He glanced towards the empty bed in the room then back at Juno, "If I did stay here I would have no qualms about sleeping in the other bed if you wanted to take things slower in that regard."

"I can't promise that I won't change my mind again and lose all self-control, but maybe we should try to take it slow, until we find our equilibrium or whatever." Or maybe she was totally off the wall. She didn't know.

Hugo certainly wouldn't say no if at any time Juno wanted them to sleep in the same bed or anything because he had enjoyed falling asleep next to and waking up next to her everyday for the last two weeks and of course there were the perks of that, but he thought it'd be good if they slept separate for at least a little bit so that their relationship wasn't based solely on those perks. He didn't think it would be even if they did continue sleeping in the same bed, but it just made sense to slow it down for a bit, "This will be a learning experience for us both."

"Yeah," she said, somewhat resignedly. "It will be." She was afraid that learning experience was grown-up speak for, 'It's probably going to suck.' But she was playing in the big leagues now, she'd just have to suck it up.

"I guess you should probably let Charlie know that you'll be sticking around."

"I probably should." Of course going to talk to Charlie meant getting up and Hugo had gotten quite comfortable with Juno by his side; however he knew that this was something he had to do, so sighing softly he finally removed his arm from around Juno's shoulder, "Do you want anything from the cafe before I go?" He still hadn't made an actual attempt to get up besides having moved his arm.

Hugo laughed softly and kissed her cheek before finally sliding off the bed, shivering slightly at the loss of warmth that just sitting next to Juno had given him, "I'll pop down there and bring it back before I head to Charlie's." He found the jeans he'd been wearing the night before and pulled them on then went to get a shirt, "Do you want anything else while I'm down there?"
