The flat response in her head was translated into a quiet scowl on her features. That wasn't an answer; that was dictation, like her was reciting something out of one of her text books about postulates. If A, B, and C are distinct points and AC + CB = AB, then C lies on Line AB. And it was one way to talk about that in class where the roundabouts were the answers to the question, but it was a completely different thing to talk like that when the roundabouts were so that you didn't have to answer it.
Nyota was about to protest with a statement similar to what had just run through her head, but her attention was distracted by his statement. Sighing as she reluctantly extracted herself from the covers, she padded across the room and over next to him, squeezing in to get a look out the window, her eyes going wide. That... was not Nairobi. She didn't know what that was, but it wasn't the city that she was used to at all.
