After two weeks of not being able to speak with anyone from home, Claire had been busy playing catchup. She'd had lunch with Nathan, invited Lyle over for dinner and a movie night, and was hoping to catch up with Gabriel in the next day or so. For tonight, however, she was having a simple, peaceful night in. The original plan had been to spend the evening with her husband but when Dean had received a phone call that one of his regular customers had their car break down, he'd had no choice but to go to the rescue. Now, nearly half an hour later and with the twins already in bed, Claire wasn't exactly sure what to do with herself. It wasn't often that she had alone time and, well, frankly she wasn't enjoying it nearly as much as she thought she might. Finally she had turned to the video games they had - all near hundred of them - and set about to keep herself at least occupied until Dean came home.
She was right in the middle of a ridiculously difficult level on Left4Dead when a knock sounded at the door. Pausing the game, Claire frowned thoughtfully in the direction of the foyer as she put down the controller. She managed to slip her feet out from beneath the sleeping Chomper, who had taken to curling up on top of them whenever she sat down for more than thirty seconds, and silently made her way to the door. A glance through the peek hole and she wasted no time in unlocking then pulling the door open.
"Hey, Cas," she greeted the angel standing in the hallway, a smile on her face as she stepped aside and motioned for him to come in. "What's up?" She thought about pointing out that Dean wasn't there but, given her husband's bond with the angel in front of her, she doubted it was necessary.
