Who: Kate and Elena
What: Mother/Daughter bonding time
When: Night time, around 9pm
Where: Forrest of Colligo
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

The snowy white wolf that was Kate got to all four paws, shook herself out, and then stretched, paws flexing to allow sharp claws to dig at the earth, moving the ground. The smell of the forest was all around her. To her right, a rabbit nearly poked out, saw her, and smartly thought otherwise, going into hiding. Some birds chattered above her, and not to far off, a squirrel was darting around the trees. Then there was the large animals, most had made themselves scarce when they smelt wolves approaching, and now they would see them.

She flicked her tail, and then turned to look to her right. Somewhere through the shrubs and taller bushes, her mother was shifting. She should be done by now, or almost done. Kate's clothes were stored safely away, not that she thought she was going to have any trouble with someone stealing them. She hadn't had that trouble yet.

Her legs were dying to be used. They were practically tingling with energy and the desire to be used. To run until it felt like she was flying, to run until it hurt, and then to keep on going after. It was just too bad her father wasn't with them, it had been too long since she'd challenged him to a race.

Leaping forward, she crashed through the trees, ready to run. Her mother should be ready to go by now, and if not, she was taking too long. The wolf was impatient, and she needed to move.

Elena stretched, long and full before shaking her own blond fur out. It'd been too long since her last four legged run, so said the wolf. Not long enough to force a change, but then Wolf would run every night if Elena let her. She was sometimes content enough with the two legged runs through the forest, still able to enjoy scents and sounds. But it wasn't this. Everything was so much clearer in this form, sounds crisper, sights sharper, scents of near-by rabbit so much more delicious to taste on the air.

She shook her head, focusing a little before leaping out from behind her bush where she knew Kate would be waiting. There's a wolfy grin at the snow wolf as she dances a couple steps in one direction, energy getting the better of her for a moment. She gives a playful yip, the sound carrying a question through the playful tone. Direction? it asked.

She looked one way, and then the other, trying to choose which direction. She'd been to these parts before. To the north was where the woods got thicker, and she'd never ran up there, a little more east, and there was a stream, flat ground, and she could detect the scent of deer there somewhere, not that she was overly interested at that. Her paws moved up and down, prancing on the spot for just a moment as the wolf made up her mind.

When she made up her mind, she gives a short yip in response, and then takes off, heading toward the river and the flatter ground. Her legs stretched out, and the flexed, tearing through the bushes and gaining speed as she went, positive that Elena wouldn't be far behind her. No doubt she could keep up with her daughter.

Part of letting Kate choose was because she'd also been over both parts. They were both a good place to run, every bit of the forest is, and she didn't have a preference over which section they ran. She currently just wanted to run.

Elena takes off after her less then a heartbeat later. Just enough time to process that her daughter was moving before her body, Wolf, took over on instinct and followed. She could keep up, easily. Her stride ate up the ground, loving the feel as paws hit earth just to leave again for the next step. Soon, it wasn't so much following Kate as it was side by side. Though she weaved a little through the trees, never staying exactly at her daughter's side.
