Who: Hugo Weasley and John Watson
What: Hugo and John finally meet.
When: Tuesday, July 12. Night
Where: Harvelle's
Status: In Progress

Hugo sat not too far from the door, glancing towards it everytime it opened, wondering if the next person that walked through the door was going to be him, but so far none of the people who had come into the bar were his mother's husband. It was still strange to think that another man was married to his mother instead of his father, but he understood how things worked here in Colligo and he knew that back home his parents were still together despite his mother being here at a much younger age than at home. It really was rather fascinating if he took himself out of the equation and looked at it from a strictly magical or scientific viewpoint.

His thoughts were interrupted once again as the door opened and he glanced towards it, waiting to see who was coming through this time.

John felt a little strange meeting his wife's son, who was nearly as old as his wife thanks to time displacement, for drinks. Then again, he was living in a city on another planet, in another reality, because he had been kidnapped by a bored, eccentric deity, and his wife was a witch from a series of popular children's books. And even before that, back home in London, he'd been the assistant of a self-proclaimed sociopath, and had nearly been killed in an explosion as part of a cat-and-mouse game with a psychopath who was now his friend. Strange wasn't really a word that belonged in his vocabulary, now that he thought about it. Perhaps uncomfortable was the better word. It was definitely uncomfortable to be meeting his...step-son? Did Hugo count as his step-son when he didn't even exist in Hermione's time. Technically yes, he supposed, but this situation was rather complicated.

He walked in to the bar, spotting Hugo and making his way over. He wasn't entirely sure what to say, so he ordered a pint of bitter, thankful that the Roadhouse kept good beer on hand, and took a seat by Hugo. "Hello," he said. He paused a moment, then gave a slight, uncomfortable laugh. "I suppose this is as awkward for you as it is for me. How are you settling in?"

Hugo knew the moment the man walked into the bar that he was John Watson. He didn't know how he knew, but he did and all he could think about at that moment was how if Uncle George was there the first thing he'd probably say was 'Dr. Watson, I presume?'. Pushing the thought from his head before the smirk could cross his lips, Hugo had been about to stand when John took the empty seat at the table and spoke, "It is a little awkward, yes." Awkward didn't really cut it, but he wasn't about to be rude. He knew nothing about the man except that he was married to his mother, so there was absolutely no reason to be rude.

"I'm alright. I admit it's a little strange living with my uncle, but not being able to see him. I'm fairly certain that we're over feeding his dogs, but since I can't tell if he's fed them, I can't simply assume." If it was any consolation, Hugo was taking them out as well even if his uncle had already done it. "Does my mother know we're meeting tonight?"
