The distant look scared her. Jade had seen that look before. She had seen it in the eyes of her fellow angels as they had fallen during Lucifer's attempt to take over Heaven so very long ago. She had seen it in the eyes of those in Purgatory as they had, one by one, fallen victim to the darkness that permeated every corner of the place. It was a look that signaled death was quite likely to follow without some serious intervention. And as soon as Ruby gave her okay, Jade set out to intervene as much as possible.
Her movements were quick and knowledgeable, her gaze flickering up to the demon's face every few seconds as she worked without pause. Within a minute or so she had the wound covered in bandages and wrapped tightly to stave off the worst of the blood loss. It was then that she hesitated, knowing there was at least one more thing she could do - aside for shouting for Cas or Gabe to come help her, that is - but she wasn't sure she wanted to suggest it. Sitting back on her heels from her position on the floor, she absently wiped her blood-covered hands off on a rag and studied Ruby for a long moment.
"I can stitch you up," she offered, her tone steady even as her eyes shone with worry. "It won't be very pleasant though. I'm fresh out of sedatives." She honestly wasn't sure if sedatives would work on Ruby or not but she wanted to at least point as much out and see if that was really what the other woman (demon, technically, but Jade was finding it harder and harder to view her in such a light) wanted.
