WHO: Lucy Saxon and Remus Lupin; Open to the Master and Sexy Idris
WHAT: Tea and quite possibly the most polite discussion of lycanthropy ever.
WHEN: Early afternoon
WHERE: Apartment #510C
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Lucy had to admit that she was a bit nervous. While the werewolf that had attacked her seemed perfectly nice over the network, and certainly seemed apologetic even if she felt he didn't have any reason to feel guilty in the first place, Lucy also knew how easy it was for someone to provide a benign front yet turn out to be anything but once you were alone with them. And although she knew there wasn't too terribly much that he could do to her that would top turning her into a werewolf, she also knew that he very much had the upper hand in this situation and could easily use it to his advantage if he so chose.

She hoped, however, that wasn't going to be the case. Yet just to be on the safe side she had opted to invite him to her flat rather than suggesting they meet somewhere far more neutral. It perhaps wasn't a very generous move on her part, particularly when Harry was still about and might pop in at any moment, but Lucy felt she was entitled to at least a bit of security after what had happened. Not to mention she really would rather not have to have such a personal discussion in public with someone she'd only just met. She had questions, several of them in fact, and it was going to be odd enough just discussing them with a veritable stranger without having others she didn't know involved as well.

Having taken some time off work following what she was simply referring to in her mind as The Incident, Lucy had been spending most of that sudden free time working anyway. She had taken more than enough paperwork and manuscripts home to keep her occupied and had found that it helped to keep her from dwelling on everything to the point that she felt like simply crying. However as it drew closer to tea time, Lucy set aside the most recently written novel she'd been given to read over and busied herself with tidying up a bit and preparing for her visitor who was expected at any given moment. It wasn't until she was finished, with everything ready to go, that she allowed herself a few moment to simply sit and think. She tried to avoid that as much as possible, hoped that her chat with Remus might help put most of her worries at ease so she wouldn't get into such a hysterical state at the thought of what had and still was happening to her, but for the time being Lucy thought that getting a bit of focus and centring herself was probably for the best.

Sitting quietly in the living room, her legs curled up underneath her and her attention on the sunshine pouring in from the patio, she tried to wrap her mind around everything that was happening. She was a werewolf. However apparently she didn't have to change with each full moon. Yet... she was still a werewolf. Feeling her heart skip a beat and that same ball of dread settle in her stomach, Lucy drew in a breath and exhaled slowly. She could handle this. Yes, she was no longer technically human. Yes, her life as she knew it was going to change in some ways. However she was married to a man who wasn't human, who had his own bloodlust and issues to deal with, and this was hardly the worst thing she'd ever faced.

Whatever other thoughts she might have had following that one were cut short at the knock at the door. Silently she stood and made her way into the foyer. She hesitated briefly, hand resting on the doorknob, and absently smoothed down her hair a bit. Then she opened the door, blue eyes locking on the man standing there and, despite the clear nervousness she was feeling, managed a small smile.

"I'm so pleased you could make it," she said by way of greeting before stepping aside to give him room to enter. "Please, come in."

Remus wasn't sure how he was supposed to feel. He had lost control, in a way he never had before. It wasn't like the full moons early in his life. This made those nights seem tame by comparison. The time alone was baffling, three nights spent as a werewolf, attacking various people and animals. He had killed more than one local, and the thought of it made him feel sick. Still, that wasn't nearly as awful as the fact that he had attacked a woman and infected her with his curse. Though Oz's lycanthropy, the sort he had these days, was kinder than the sort he'd hard originally, it was still a curse. And now he'd done the one thing he had always sworn never to do. He had passed that curse to someone else. The guilt was nearly too much to bear.

And the worst thing about it was that Lucy was so very nice. She seemed, from their interaction on the network, to be a polite, good-natured woman. He would have fully understood if she had hated him for what he did to him, and he certainly hadn't expected forgiveness, but she had been terribly understanding and that made the guilt that much heavier. That wasn't to say he wouldn't have felt just as bad if it had been some reprehensible person. In many ways, it would be that much worse because it would be giving that sort of power to someone who would surely misuse it. Still, there was just something wrong about hurting someone as nice as Lucy. People like her deserved to have nice things happen, not things like this.

Part of him wanted to keep away from her, ashamed of what he had done, but he couldn't. It wouldn't be fair or right to leave her to deal with this without anyone to help. He felt responsible for her, not to mention the fact that he liked her, and he didn't want her to go through this alone. He resolved to help her through this in any way he could, so that she would never have to feel alone or helpless the way he had in his early days as a werewolf. The first step, he supposed, was getting to know her. She had invited him over to her flat for tea and, though he wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea of seeing her soon, he agreed. After all, they had a limited window to get started on teaching her control. She probably wouldn't manage it in the first month, but if there was a chance she would he wanted to try. Reaching her flat, he hesitated before knocking.

When she opened the door, he gave her a small, nervous smile. "Hello," he said softly. "Thank you for inviting me." He bit back the urge to apologise again. "I suppose we never properly introduced ourselves over the network...and anyway, I've never considered technological introductions to count." He ducked his head shyly. "I'm Remus. Remus Lupin."

He was right, Lucy realised much her chagrin. They never had properly introduced themselves. With a small smile laced with faint embarrassment, she replied, "I'm Lucy Saxon. It's a pleasure to meet you, Remus." She felt a bit forward calling him by his given name but at the same time felt as though calling him Mr. Lupin would be a bit too much given the fact that they already clearly had a connection of at least some sort.

Leading him into the sitting room where she had already set up the tea and biscuits, she motioned toward the available chairs. "Please," she said, "have a seat." There was a touch of nervousness in her tone born more from not being sure what else to say and a very real worry that Harry was going to come bursting in at any given moment and start making threats with his laser screwdriver, but Lucy did her best to ignore her concerns and simply focus on the werewolf.

He was a bit younger than she had expected. The small pictures of others over the network really didn't offer much in the way of detail and, although she had known he was far from old by any stretch of the imagination, she hadn't thought he'd be quite so young looking either. Yet as she took her own seat, she had to admit that there was also a sort of haggardness to him. She wasn't sure if that was simply weariness from the past few days or whether that was his lyncanthropy taking its toll over the years - or possibly something else entirely caused it - but she definitely took note and felt her heart go out to him a bit.

"How do you take your tea?" she asked as she poured him a cup. Best to get the tea set up first before delving into the real reason for his visit. It was simply hanging in the air, so far unmentioned, but Lucy's own sense of propriety refused to let her touch on the subject until the man had a cup of tea and was settled.

"It's very nice to meet you too, Lucy." It was automatic, the sort of polite reflex that came with being raised by parents who put stock in manners, and Remus couldn't help but think it was just a little ridiculous to be defaulting to such things in the aftermath of mauling her. But then, if they couldn't fall back on that, what else did they have? It was like his mother had always said, manners didn't cost anything and they were worth quite a bit, so why not use them?

He followed her and took a seat, keeping his hands in his lap and only fidgeting slightly. For all that he was arguably the calmest of his group of friends, he was still prone to nervousness. He didn't know much about Lucy Saxon, but it still seemed surreal that someone he had hurt would be so kind and civil toward him. He wasn't sure what he had been expecting but it hadn't been this, and he found it difficult to relax completely.

The question about how he took his tea honestly startled him, but he gave Lucy a small smile. "Three sugars," he said softly. "Normally I just take it as is, but sometimes after the full moon I like the extra sugar." He'd never really understood why, or looked into the medical facts of it. He just figured his body took some time to readjust after a full moon. And, in that case, it only made sense that it took longer now, when he'd been a wolf for three nights instead of jut one.

He thanked her when she passed him his tea, looking down at the liquid as if it held some sort of answer to the situation at hand. "I'm terribly sorry," he said softly, "for what I did to you. I know I've said that already, but I just wanted to tell you again. It is completely inexcusable, and if I could take it back, I would in an instant. I'm just...so very sorry, Lucy."

With a quiet 'you're welcome' following his thanks for the tea, Lucy sat back with her own cup and absently ran the tip of one finger along the brim while meeting his gaze. She wanted to shrug off his apology, to insist it hadn't been his fault, but she was starting to get the feeling that doing such a thing wasn't going to make him feel any better about the situation. She wasn't angry with him, though, and couldn't imagine pretending she was simply to put his own sense of propriety to rest. So she settled for simply nodding her head, allowing a slight pause following a sip of her tea to give her a moment to collect her thoughts.

"I don't blame you," she finally said in an even tone. "You weren't in control of your actions, Remus. This city made certain of it." The corners of her mouth curved upward ever so slightly in the beginnings of a smile that was born from nervousness far more than finding any real humour in the situation. Resting her cup on the table, Lucy smoothed down the fabric of her slacks then folded her hands and placed them in her lap.

"And I suppose it's time we get on with it," she mused at that point. "Before my husband opts to Her tone was still light, devoid of any anger or resentment. There was a bit of nervousness shining in her eyes, worry that he was going to reveal something truly horrible that she could expect courtesy of her... predicament. However he had already mentioned that he was capable of controlling his transformation under normal circumstances. As her suddenly transforming without warning each full moon was the largest worry she had, far moreso than most anything else she'd ever heard about werewolves, she was holding out some small hope that whatever else he might tack on would pale when compared to the relief that control was attainable.
