Lucy had to admit that she was a bit nervous. While the werewolf that had attacked her seemed perfectly nice over the network, and certainly seemed apologetic even if she felt he didn't have any reason to feel guilty in the first place, Lucy also knew how easy it was for someone to provide a benign front yet turn out to be anything but once you were alone with them. And although she knew there wasn't too terribly much that he could do to her that would top turning her into a werewolf, she also knew that he very much had the upper hand in this situation and could easily use it to his advantage if he so chose.
She hoped, however, that wasn't going to be the case. Yet just to be on the safe side she had opted to invite him to her flat rather than suggesting they meet somewhere far more neutral. It perhaps wasn't a very generous move on her part, particularly when Harry was still about and might pop in at any moment, but Lucy felt she was entitled to at least a bit of security after what had happened. Not to mention she really would rather not have to have such a personal discussion in public with someone she'd only just met. She had questions, several of them in fact, and it was going to be odd enough just discussing them with a veritable stranger without having others she didn't know involved as well.
Having taken some time off work following what she was simply referring to in her mind as The Incident, Lucy had been spending most of that sudden free time working anyway. She had taken more than enough paperwork and manuscripts home to keep her occupied and had found that it helped to keep her from dwelling on everything to the point that she felt like simply crying. However as it drew closer to tea time, Lucy set aside the most recently written novel she'd been given to read over and busied herself with tidying up a bit and preparing for her visitor who was expected at any given moment. It wasn't until she was finished, with everything ready to go, that she allowed herself a few moment to simply sit and think. She tried to avoid that as much as possible, hoped that her chat with Remus might help put most of her worries at ease so she wouldn't get into such a hysterical state at the thought of what had and still was happening to her, but for the time being Lucy thought that getting a bit of focus and centring herself was probably for the best.
Sitting quietly in the living room, her legs curled up underneath her and her attention on the sunshine pouring in from the patio, she tried to wrap her mind around everything that was happening. She was a werewolf. However apparently she didn't have to change with each full moon. Yet... she was still a werewolf. Feeling her heart skip a beat and that same ball of dread settle in her stomach, Lucy drew in a breath and exhaled slowly. She could handle this. Yes, she was no longer technically human. Yes, her life as she knew it was going to change in some ways. However she was married to a man who wasn't human, who had his own bloodlust and issues to deal with, and this was hardly the worst thing she'd ever faced.
Whatever other thoughts she might have had following that one were cut short at the knock at the door. Silently she stood and made her way into the foyer. She hesitated briefly, hand resting on the doorknob, and absently smoothed down her hair a bit. Then she opened the door, blue eyes locking on the man standing there and, despite the clear nervousness she was feeling, managed a small smile.
"I'm so pleased you could make it," she said by way of greeting before stepping aside to give him room to enter. "Please, come in."
