Who: Lexi Branson and Huck Finn
What: Could it be a date?
Where: Huck's apartment then a resturant in town
When: Sunday Afternoon
Rating: TBD
Status: In progress

Unlike most weekends since arriving in Colligo, Lexi had a full schedule and she wasn't sure which she was looking forward to more; the sleepover or lunch with Huck. She'd never had or been to a sleepover before and she was looking forward to getting to know the other girls better while she had been wanting to ask Huck out for awhile now. So, she was excited to have both events in the same weekend.

The sleepover had gone well, probably better than Lexi had thought and she'd had a lot of fun doing all the things that girls usually did at sleepovers. After everyone had left that morning, Lexi had cleaned up then showered and gotten ready to go over to Huck's to meet him.

She was intigued that he was writing a vampire novel and was looking forward to finding out more about it and to give him any information or tips that he wanted. Normally she might not have been quite so open about certain aspects of being a vampire, but seeing as how this place wasn't exactly normal and Huck hadn't freaked out after she'd healed him with her blood, she thought it was alright.

It only took her a few minutes to get to Huck's apartment, once she'd finished getting ready, what with her speed and all, and soon she was standing outside his apartment, knocking on the door.

Huck liked Lexi, and he was happy to hear that she was doing well, and able to do things that she hadn't been before. It was a good feeling, knowing that he'd been able to help with that, by making the daylight ring for her when he'd had Morgause' powers on loan. It was also a stroke to his ego to have her interested in not only his work, but in him personally as well.

Admittedly, it was a little weird to think that she was technically dead, and that he'd drunk her blood, which had actually come from something or someone else entirely--but on the other hand it was no weirder than the fact that he'd faked his own death, and gone globe-trotting, disguised as a girl on numerous occasions in his youth. Was it? He didn't have much of a gauge for normalcy, considering his upbringing. He wondered if she lusted after his blood the way he might lust after her body. Maybe now was his chance to find out.

He smiled at her around the unlit cigarette that was casually hanging from his lips as he opened the door. Removing the cigarette, he leaned down to kiss her cheek. "Hello, Doll-face." He liked to see if he could get a rise out of modern women by calling them pet names, but then, Lexi was technically older than he was. It boggled the mind.

Every now and then when Lexi would leave her apartment during the day, she'd still expect to feel her skin sizzling and the stench of smoke in her nostals, but it only lasted a mere second or two before her eyes landed on her ring and she remembered that she was safe. And she owed that to Huck. If he hadn't created the daylight ring for her she'd be stuck inside with the blinds closed at this very moment.

She smiled at the greeting, "Hey, yourself, Handsome." Lexi had been called a lot of things during her lifetime, so it was unlikely that there were many names that would get a rise out of her, "So, are you ready to go?" She was sure that her excitement, at both the date and getting to hear more about Huck's novel, showed on her face.

He slipped the cigarette back into the silver cigarette case in the front pocket of his messenger bag, put the lot of it away, and stepped outside--locking the door behind him. Eames had a key, but the man invariably spent most his time with Arthur and Ariadne down the hall. Which could be nice, if Huck ever decided to have company for a romantic evening.

"Ready when you are," he said, patting the aforementioned messenger bag. Thanks to modern convenience, he had all his notes and progress right there with him, in digital form. Of course, that didn't stop him from being paranoid and backing everything up in triplicate, but it was much easier than carrying a hard copy manuscript around. "Any place special you'd like to go, or shall I surprise you?"

Lexi smirked as hazel eyes glanced down at his bag, excited to get to check out what he'd written so far. She had never really paid too much attenotion to other vampire novels before; she'd read The Vampire Chronicles and half of Twilight, until Edward started sparkling, but other than that most of them just didn't interest her enough to spend her time on. However, she knew Huck so that right there made his novel different than all the others and she couldn't wait to check it out.

"Surprise me." She said, turning to start down the hall, "I love surprises." Unless they included finding herself on the other side of a stake welding by Damon. That hadn't been a very good surprise.

"All right, then," Huck agreed, and he fell into step beside her as they headed outside. He'd take her to an outdoor cafe, where they could sit under an awning and enjoy the sunshine while they ate and discussed literature.

"So how was girls' night--or do I want to know?"

As they exited the building, Lexi pulled a pair of sunglasses out of her bag and slid them on, smiling up at the sun, "I'm gonna be spending almost every day at the beach this summer. Before the whole turning human thing I hadn't been to a beach during the day in....I can't even remember how long." She smiled over at Huck, "You should join me sometime." After all, it was no fun going to the beach alone.

She laughed softly at the question and hoisted the shoulder strap of her bag further onto her shoulder, "It was fun. Lots of munchies, chick flicks and gossip. Also got to know a lot of the girls a little better, which was the whole point of the party in the first place."

"I'd be happy to join you at the beach sometime," he smiled, bumping her with his shoulder. Having grown up on the Mississippi, he was probably still the most 'at home' when he was near some body of water. And what straight man in his right mind would say no to an invitation like that? "The weather's getting perfect for it."

"Remember you sai that cause it means that I won't have to do this," Lexi glanced over at Huck and stuck out her bottom lip for a moment before she broke into a grin, "When I ask you to come with me." Lexi definitly enjoyed spending time with Huck and the propect of spending even more time with him excited her.

She nodded in response to his statement about the weather, the heels of her boots clicking against the sidewalk as they went, "You would think that being on another planet, the weather might be different than back home, but it's surprisingly Earthlike." It still boggled her mind that they were on another planet, but at times she completely forgot about that fact. It helped that there were so many people around from home and others she'd met here to keep her mind off it.

Huck paused, lightly catching hold of her arm, and pulling her into his. "Frankly," he said, with a chuckle, "I couldn't care less about the weather." He cared more about kissing that pout away, even if it was pretend. So that's what he did.

When Huck took hold of her arm and pulled her towards him, her brows rose slightly, a small smirk turning her lips up at the corners as she watched him, "Well then what do you care about?" Her question was answered seconds later when he kissed her and she didn't waste any time in kissing him back. So far this lunch or date or whatever one wanted to call it, was going quite well.

"Us," he said, smirking as he drew back from the kiss after a long moment. "But we can talk more over lunch." Because if he didn't stop kissing her, he might change his mind about lunch, and order in instead. And that just wouldn't be gentlemanly. Not when he'd promised to take her out.

"Us, you say?" Lexi grinned a laced their fingers together before glancing away from him, towards a restaurant, which had an tables scattered outside, "Well you're in luck, Mr. Finn, because it appears that there is a restaurant right there and I would be highly shocked if they didn't serve lunch."

Looking back at him, she raised her brows slightly then gave his arm a playful tug in the direction of the restaurant.

Huck laughed, smiling as he let her lead him to a table. He stepped around to pull her chair out for her before taking a seat. "Have I ever told you," he mused, leaning on his elbow. "That I love the way the sunlight hits your hair?"

It had been a very long time since someone had pulled a chair out for her and Lexi smiled as she sat down, thanking him. Her smile only got brighter as he spoke; he knew exactly the right things to say. "Is that so?" She asked, said hair, falling over her shoulder as she leaned forward as well, "Please, feel free to tell me."

"I do," he said. His eyes followed the cascade of her hair, and he smiled as he looked back up at her face. "It puts me in mind of a late harvest afternoon, lying in a field of grain, watching the sun sink lazily toward the horizon...just whiling away the time..."

He realize that he was near to treading on King Solomon's toes, with his provincial descriptions of his lady's attributes, but Huck was an old soul, and he would always be a writer. "Your hair is just...lovely. Soft as cornsilk to the touch, and twice as sweet. And your mouth--my god. I think I'm beginning to understand why people are always aching to be turned, in those silly books of ours."

Lexi was surprised to find that, as Huck spoke, her cheeks flushed slightly. She couldn't remember the last time a man had made her blush, but Huck had a way with words that she had not heard in a very long time.

She opened her mouth, intending to say something about his description of her hair, but then he started on her mouth and she instead, she bit her bottom lip, "Well now you're just trying to make me blush more."

"Well, yes, it it a rather fetching look," he confessed, having the decency to look a little sheepish himself. "But I like kissing you. Something about the danger appeal, maybe. I'm not quite sure." He was a bit of a daredevil.

"Don't start thinking you're special or anything, just because no one has made me blush in years," It had been such a long time, that Lexi had almost forgotten that she was even capable of doing it.

She quirked a brow as he continued speaking, her lips turned up into a smirk as he leaned forward a tiny bit more, "Danger, huh?" Of course at that moment a waitress had decided to approach their table and cleared her throat to get their attention.
