Who: Bo Dennis and Olivia Dunham
What: Partners in Crime fighting
When: Friday morning
Where: The police station
Rating: PG / Incomplete

It had been odd getting back into real police work since she'd been here. Back home, all she did was figure out how to stop really weird things from happening. Maybe that was why they were putting Bo and Olivia together. Olivia had been in the FBI so long that adjusting to a regular police department had been hard at first. Eventually though she got the hang of it. And now she was getting a new partner.

She was a little excited, and figured that getting a new partner was always a little awkward. Honestly there wasn't a lot she knew about the other woman, except that she wasn't one of the locals. Olivia was happy about that. The other thing she knew was that Bo's boyfriend(?) was a cop as well. That was probably how she got the job, not that Olivia would ever say anything like that.

If Olivia was going to show her around and break her in so to speak, she'd be happy to help out. After the captain told her where to find Bo, Olivia entered the room and saw the brunette who was apparently waiting for her. "Sorry I'm late. I'm Olivia." She put out her hand.

Though it had initially been just an idle idea that she had suggested to Dyson almost on a whim, Bo found that she was excited about working with the police department. She really did like helping people, which was definitely a part of police work, and there was a part of her that enjoyed some good old-fashioned violence, now and then. She knew she couldn't come to work armed to the teeth like she had been for many of her cases back home, but she would still occasionally get to take down suspects. Plus she got to see Dyson, and she was never going to complain about more opportunities to see her boyfriend, even if it was just in the break room.

Still, she was glad she hadn't been partnered with Dyson. For one thing, it muddied the waters too much and left them both emotionally compromised. For another, she wanted to branch out and meet more people. She couldn't just be friends with Dyson, Kenzi and two men she'd slept with before Dyson arrived. And yes, there were others but she was making a point. Having a partner she didn't know could be good. She didn't really know anything about this Olivia Dunham, but she was sure they'd get along well enough once they settled in to working together.

She smiled when the blonde approached and took her hand, taking care not to accidentally let any of her power spill into the touch. "Bo Dennis," she said. "It's great to meet you, Olivia."

At the very least, this partnership with Bo would not result in lots of drugs and experiments while on drugs. That was always a good thing. She too liked the idea of getting to know new people and making the most of the time she was having here. She smiled and shook the other woman's hand. "It's great to meet you too, Bo. I'm looking forward to having a new partner. Especially one who's a woman. I haven't had one of those before." She laughed a little.

It was true, she was always stuck with men. But that was because there weren't that many women in roles like hers in the FBI. Maybe she'd have even better luck with a female partner. At least she wouldn't fall in love with her (powers not withstanding) and have all that be awkward. Which was probably most of the reason she figured that Bo was with her and not her boyfriend. Way better that way.

"I hear that you're pretty new at this whole police thing. Have the locals taught you much?" She doubted it. They didn't really like to talk or anything. "I can show you some things you need to know if you want, plus the bane of all policemen. Paperwork."

Bo had never really had any sort of partner before, unless you counted Kenzi. And Kenzi was more like family than a partner by this point. So this was a new and different experience for her. Of course, considering most of her work in the past had been bartending, it kind of made sense. "I've never had any partners," Bo told the blonde with a smile. "So this is all new to me. I'm looking forward to it."

She was glad not to be partnered with Dyson, both because they'd never get any work done and because she needed to meet new people. She still had a hard time letting people close, but she knew she couldn't just rely on Dyson and Kenzi here. From what she'd seen people could be sent home at any time, and if they were both taken she didn't want to be left alone and friendless in this strange city.

"I'm new to the police thing," she said, "but I was a private investigator back home and I have security experience. I know it's not the same at all, but at least I'm not completely green." She smiled. "I'd be really grateful if you did. Well, maybe not grateful about the paperwork, but I guess it's a necessary evil."

Good, this would be a learning experience for the both of them. At least they were on a level playing field in that way. Olivia had never been very much a people person, but she'd learned to at least talk to people when she needed to. Of course she was by herself, and she didn't know if she'd consider anyone here her friend. Perhaps it was time to change all of that.

"Oh well that will come in handy. Especially here since honestly unless massive chaos breaks out, it's pretty quiet. Of course when all hell break's loose, then it's .. all hell." She smiled slightly. "Sure, let's get started." Leading the way towards the desks, she pointed. "This is my desk, and that's yours. I recommend getting like a planner, or one of these." She pulled out her case to show where she kept her notes and things.

Keeping things organized was key. "And always keep it with you."
