WHO Captain John Hart and Juno MacGuff
WHAT Chilling out.
WHEN Evening
WHERE John and Juno's apartment
RATING/STATUS tba / incomplete

Cute roommate, check.
Bother Eye candy, check.
Find a bar, check.
Find job, eh.. check.

Although John didn't know why he actually got one. He didn't have a problem living off Jack for a while. Not that he would actually have Jack's permission. It seemed that he had actually began to settle in here which he wasn't exactly known for. There was that one time he was trapped with Jack, ooh that one time he was trapped with Jack. How it brought back memories. It was kind of like now but he wasn't only trapped with Jack. This time he was forced to share. How unfortunate.

Each day here seemed to get easier and easier. On the days he was scheduled he went to work with some bourbon in his coffee. That was just to get him through the day because he really wasn‘t the working type. At least not for other people. If he was something he slightly enjoyed then he wouldn’t need the bourbon. Being a hair dresser? Definitely not his cup of tea but he was oddly good at it. On his days off he would either spend them picking up pretties or drinking himself silly. It took a lot to do that so usually he just went home with a light buzz. Always a good feeling.

Oh no a rut, already. He was usually so good at keeping himself entertained. This had to be fixed immediately. That’s it he needed to do something different. Only this something different wasn’t dyeing his hair or buying a motorcycle. It was cooking dinner and staying home for the first time since he was taken there.

Oh my god he is a housewife. Just don’t tell him that.

Juno had seen her roommate and exchanged greetings in passing a few times now, but between her last weeks of school, her own job, and Regulus insisting on her company--not that she minded obliging--she and John had been like ships passing in the night. So she was a bit surprised to come home for a change and find him in the kitchen, actually cooking.

And the kitchen wasn't on fire. Yet. That was a good sign.

"Oh, hey, you're home," she babbled as she returned to said kitchen from dropping off her book bag in her room. "I'm Juno, by the way, in case I haven't actually introduced myself. How's the life?"

Moving around the kitchen John still looked at the corner of his eye when he heard someone come into the room. He had a feeling that it was Juno, because really who else would be it. Although he would enjoy it if a certain someone would be walking in. It was unlikely but even a slut can hope. "Where else would I be?" he said as checked the oven.

Not done quite yet.

“Captain John Hart,” he stepped towards her as he introduced himself. “How’s it going?” Avoiding the fact that he was so bored that he was cooking a three course meal on a Friday night.

Juno just hoped that if his certain someones came walking in, she would have some warning to clear out and make herself scarce. In the meanwhile...she was rather fascinated with watching him cook. Maybe she could learn something.

"It's going," she said, "Prom was last weekend. School's almost done for the year. Need a hand with anything in here?"

John certain someone wouldn't, this person was probably to busy with his own certain someone. It didn't matter to John. He'll find a way to get this person's attention later. Probably with something big and shiny... or loud. At the moment he was just going to relax with his roommate. Unless his young and adorable roommate had different plans in mind. It was all the same to John today. He was in a strange mood, that's what happened when he was bored.

"Prom? Oh yes the event with the dancing," not that he would be caught dead there. Most likely something for younger people. Oh, oh not that he was old. Did he need help? Hmm? "Sure, you can start chopping those mushrooms," he said as he pointed to the container on the table.

Chopping mushrooms was something that Juno was fairly confident she could manage without fear of incident, so she retrieved a cutting board and a knife, and proceeded to do just that. So far, she didn't see what the fuss was about, concerning John. He might have been flirtatious on the network, but he didn't seem to be nearly as incorrigible in person. Not that Sirius was ever as incorrigible to her in person as he was over the net, and not that John had ever directed his attentions toward Juno on the net either.

It seemed Regulus was jealous and paranoid, and maybe Juno had jumped to conclusions as well.

"What's on the menu?"

Eh, maybe John wasn't always completely incorrigible. That didn't mean he couldn't be. Even more so than people thought he was. He was definitely a flirt but he didn't see a reason to be now. Not that Juno wasn't attractive in her own right but she didn't move him. Odd but she didn't. She should count herself lucky. With them living with each other it would be hell if he was attracted to her.

"Well you're finishing the salad. I'm making Cornish game hen and spotted dick," wasn't he just the sweetest housewife someone could ask for.

"Well." Juno smirked at him, trying not to snicker at the name of a certain dish. "That will be something to look forward to. I've never had spotted dick." She knew what it was, vaguely, but never had the opportunity to try it.

"I'll be the first to admit, I'm pretty dismal in the kitchen," she said, "I guess I just need more practice--but at least a salad is pretty hard to ruin."

"Well it's delicious," John could help but smile too, "well if you know how to make it." He knew that it was a funny name for a dish. He was a bit surprised she didn't laugh because most people did when they first heard it. “If you screw up the whole dish is just tasteless.” No one liked a tasteless dessert.

He looked over to what she was doing. “You seem to be going fine and it’s just mushrooms,” she didn’t have to cut them perfectly. He wasn’t a professional chef that perfected every little thing.

Beep.

Which meant that the Cornish game hen was done. “Guess what,” John said as he pulled them out of the oven, “it’s dinner time. If you’re done with the mushrooms that is.”

Maybe she'd spent too much time around Sirius Black, or that she was finally learning to ignore the opportunity to crack filthy jokes thanks to Regulus' squick buttons. Then again, Regulus wasn't here to squick, so what was she worried about?

"Ooh!" she exclaimed when the timer went off. "Good timing. Salad's ready too."

John took two plates out, placing a hen on each of them. He looked over to Juno. "Let's eat at the table," this wasn't exactly finger food that could be eaten on the couch. If it was he would be eating there now. He didn't care where she wanted to eat. He was going to eat at the table anyway. Without waiting for her answer he took the two plate to the table. Then he walked back to the kitchen and grabbed two beers. "Just added the mushrooms to the salad bowl and bring it to the table."

She nodded, following his instructions--taking the knife and cutting board to be washed before she followed him to the table. Since she'd been dating Regulus, she was getting better at cleaning as she went along. That and it was a good habit for when she was babysitting.

"Here you are, good sir," she said, placing the salad on the table with a flourish, "Bon apetite. And thanks for cooking--you're officially the most awesome roommate ever."

When Juno called him the most awesome roommate ever John smirked lightly. Everything he made was easy to make and tasted good. Unless it went horrible wrong during preparation or cooking. No one likes burnt chicken even if they burnt part was taken off. That taste would still be there, soaked through the entire chicken.

"Now let's eat," he said as he served himself some of the salad. The mushrooms looked a bit uneven but they still tasted the same.

He looked up for her for a second the started to eat his meal.
