Entry tags:lily potter, sirius black

Who: Sirius and Lily
What: Hanging around and platonic cuddles
Where: The Potters' flat.
When: This evening, after Sirius' network post.
Rating: TBD. Medium for swearing, probs.
Status: In progress.

Sirius had turned up here after a rather brillliant bout of shower sex with Remus, his hair still damp and rivulets of warm water dripping down into his collar. They'd sent Remus and James off on their little man-date, and now Sirius was curled on one end of the sofa, Lily tucked under one arm, watching some weird comedy that his best mate's pregnant wife had picked out. On the screen, some Irish bloke was singing at a girl who was looking angry and - in Sirius' humble opinion - wasn't even that hot. There was also some background music playing that sounded like someone had fallen into a guitar, and Sirius was staring at the screen like he'd never seen anything so mental in his entire life.

"I don't get it," he told the redhead for about the seven millionth time. "She's not even that hot." He shifted awkwardly - there had been some impressive Chinese food consumption only an hour before, and the meal was sitting heavily on his stomach. "And he sings like a constipated Hippogriff." He paused, wincing as the scene changed before turning to look down at Lily. "His death was a mercy to the music business."

For some reason she was more willing to cuddle up to Sirius than Padfoot tonight. She just wanted his warmth and it was a different type of comfort that came from hearing his heartbeat. Yes she loved cuddling his furry alter ego and he really gave her a complete feeling of calmness when she cuddled the dog, but for some reason it was more when she felt unwell of upset about something she preferred Padfoot. She couldn't explain it, and didn't have to. Sirius just understood and didn't argue, willingly let her curl up in any way she wanted at any time. But when he once again complained about the film she sighed.

"Fine we'll put it off if you're not happy," she said as she lifted a hand to the back of the couch to pull herself up to sit. Merlin this was getting harder by the moment, she really was getting fed up of being pregnant and she still had two months left to go. But she couldn't be bothered with his moaning, she just wanted to cuddle and watch a film. It was what he had promised. "Find a film with someone you deem hot enough."

"No, no, no..." Sirius laughed, wrapping a hand around the junction between her shoulder and neck and pulling her gently back against him. "Let's keep watching. I am intrigued." He wasn't - he didn't really care less about what happened to Irish bloke - but Lily was one of his best friends in the world. Not to mention she was pregnant and uncomfortable and Sirius would let her watch someone set his hair on fire if that was what she fancied.

"At least with me here with you the chances of James getting arrested go down dramatically?" he pointed out. After all, James only ever got (properly) arrested when he was around. As far as he knew. And Remus was the sensible one who would probably be able to keep Prongs in line. Sirius gave a low chuckle, slumping back into the cushions of the Potters' sofa with his eyes fixed on the screen.

She fell back against him softly, huffing a little. She was like this a lot, her temper changed incredibly quickly even if she tried to stop it. And the boys had been so good with her even though she could tell it angered or frustrated them at times. But they were all so close that mood swings were usually easy to deal with. "No you're not. You're bored. And soon you'll end up moaning again. I'll switch it off."

She should have known better than to put on a movie like this with him. It wouldn't keep his interest and it wouldn't take long for his leg to start moving as he tried to keep his attention on the movie, longing to get up and do something. It was bound to happen and she would rather prevent it before it did.

"I would rather he didn't get arrested, thank you."

"My lips are sealed," Sirius insisted, trying unsuccesfully to hide a grin. On the screen, the film continued to play out, and there was a moment of silence as they watched the two main characters skirt around each other. Sirius slumped even further, his hair crumpling against the cushions. The animugus was restless and agitated, but he did his best to hide it. He couldn't, however, keep his fingers from beating out an anxious rhythm against the arm of the sofa.

"Remus'll keep him away from the long arm of the loaw," he told her, in a voice he hoped was reassuring but was probably just teasing. "I don't think James has been arrested since his stag do."

He was quiet, yes, but she could still feel it. His restlessness. And it was really starting to annoy her. If he was going to get bored he shouldn't have let her pick the film. Sighing, she closed her eyes and nuzzled against his chest, just letting herself have a moment to breathe before hitting him. She wouldn't enjoy the film it he wasn't going to sit still and just watch it, but he seemed fine with talking too. And she might as well, rather than sitting in silence.

"If he does get arrested I'll still blame you. You're a bad influence on Remus after all, he may be capable of breaking the law. Or convincing my husband to do so."

To watch them, you'd never have guessed that Sirius had Lily could have arguments that shook the foundations of buildings. Lily curled against him, Sirius' fingers laced absently through her thick red hair. He'd completely lost the plot of the film a good ten minutes ago, and he wasn't completely focused on the screen, his mind wandering elsewhere.

"I'm an excellent influence on Moony," he pointed out, grinning and shifting away as she went to hit him. "If it wasn't for me he'd be shut away reading all day. You know what he's like. Anyway," he grinned down on her, holding back a laugh. "Your husband rarely needs much convincing."

The animagus turned back to the screen, his brow coming down in a bemused frown. There was a moment of silence until, suddenly. "Oh!" Sirius waved a hand in the direction of the muggle television as something in the plot clicked. "Is he dead!?"

"Nothing wrong with that. I remember the times he would sit quietly or talk nicely. He's the only reason I'm sane." He kept the type of conversations they normally had interesting and a little more grown up. But that all went down hill if James or Sirius were present. And she enjoyed being with the boys, of course she did, she just...liked an adult conversation at times.

"That's you just realising, you prat?" It was said with a mixture of annoyance and fondness. That's how they normally were anyway. She could hate him and love him in the same breath. They always had been like that since she started to date James, since she really just disliked him before her crush came on. Like she had said often, taking on James meant she had to deal with Sirius.

"No," Sirius responded quickly. "There's everything wrong with that. It's boring." But he couldn't deny that Remus was probably as good for him as Sirius could ever be for Remus. Where Sirius drew Remus out of his self-conscious, careful little bubble, Remus provided Sirius with the kind of stability Sirius desperately needed. Some kind of peace to counteract the endless restless energy that always seemed to run through him.

"Well, how was I supposed to know?" he defended himself, trying to hide a laugh once again. "He keeps popping up! I thought he was just bad at timekeeping." He glanced down at the woman curled under his arm, drawing his brow down into a frown. A few lines creased his otherwise flawless forehead. "Are you okay?"

"No it's not."

She raised her eyebrow at what he said, nudging him a little. He really thought that? Though truthfully she knew he could just be annoying her or he could genuinely not be watching it enough to understand what was going on. Either way it didn't really matter, since he wasn't exactly hiding his dislike of the film.

"Fine what makes you think I'm not?"
