Who: The Doctor and OPEN
What: A bit of jiggery pokery, trying to figure out why he's there. And find his TARDIS, maybe.
When: Friday evening.
Where: Starts outside the library, at the very least.

"Wot?!" That was the first word out of The Doctor's mouth once those far too mute knights dumped him outside of a library. Sure, it wasn't the first time he'd shown up in a library, and it probably wouldn't be the last. But that didn't change the fact that he hadn't meant to show up there this time around.

A quick look at his surroundings and he decided that the area looked like Boston. Late twentieth, early twenty-first century Boston and yet, when he looked up at the sky and saw that the stars were completely out of order for Earth, he quickly decided that he couldn't be in Boston. Especially since he wasn't in his TARDIS when he got there. He was just standing in a somewhat large library.

And the knights had shoved a PDA into his hands. He had no idea what he could need a PDA for, so he just shoved it in one of the pockets of his trench coat. He'd figure something out soon enough. "Well," he said to no one in particular, and took a quick glance at the sign posted outside of the library. "Might as well take a quick look around... Colligo? Never heard of it."

That was when the hacker known as Radical Edward happened to wander upon the Doctor. "Colligo is one big mystery, bad enough whoever is behind this decided to not bring my computer and those knights trashed my goggles" but the now fixed goggles were hanging from around Ed's neck. Plus her newfound laptop (with plenty of Ed added tricks and programs) was in her new laptop bag. "Plus the tech is so backwards!".

The Doctor quickly turned to look at the girl that had spoken to him. "You're not from here." It was a statement more than a question, and it wasn't that hard for him to have figured it out from what she had said. It was probably that she was just from another city or something.

"So. What planet is this?" he asked, brow perked as he pulled his sonic screwdriver from his pocket to begin scanning the area. Perhaps he could pick something up. If nothing else, it could point him in the direction of his TARDIS, and from there he could probably figure out where he was easily.

"No idea, its for sure one I've never heard of" Ed fired back. She missed this since leaving the Bebop and being able to banter against someone like Spike. "As for getting info don't bother with the locals, they won't spill a thing and I've tried everything to get info. The network is your best best and I'm Ed!"

"Well, I don't know abut that," The Doctor said with a bit of a shrug. "Often times locals aren't given enough credit, you know. They've probably got something in those heads of theirs-they have heads, right?-but you just have to find the right way to ask."

Ah, this place was a puzzle was it? The Doctor rather liked puzzles, and the harder the better. It was enough to make a smile spread across his face.

Granted, it would be his first adventure in a while without having one of his companions with him, but it was best not to think about that. It seemed that more and more, his chances of seeing his former companions just... went right down the drain.

"Trust me, several of us have been trying to get info and its like they just clam up. Like they are under orders not to spill the beans" Ed explained. The fiesty redhead then spotted the screwdriver,"Now speaking of cool I have to give you points for the screwdriver as weapon idea" her smile coming back.

Oh, The Doctor chuckled at that bit. "Ah, but you see, the thing you don't know about me is," he started before turning to grin at the girl once more, "I'm brilliant. Honestly, I doubt anyone around here can compare to me." Was that conceited? Okay, maybe a bit. But, he knew his intelligence level and how it couldn't compare to that of a human. A human brain, after all, couldn't withhold the information his held, it'd shut down. He'd almost seen that first hand.

And The Doctor knew there were no other Time Lords or Gallifreyans, there couldn't be. He was the last.

"It's not just a screwdriver. It's a sonic screwdriver. You'd do best not to forget that bit," he added, the grin still on his face. "You haven't seen a blue police box around here, have you?"

"While you're looking at the girl that has scared the pants off plenty of bounty heads" Ed cheerfully fired back. Her rep was hers for a good reason, Radical Edward had scared plenty of bounties. "No sign of a police box but as a computer geek I just think the idea of a sonic screwdriver is awesome!" as she opened her laptop bag to show her laptop, but with plenty of added features only someone from the future could cook up.

And he was the man that had ended civilizations and species across time and space. But, The Doctor didn't feel the need to mention that. Besides, he'd saved countless more.

"Haven't seen it? That's a shame. I'm sure she's around here somewhere though." It was just a matter of finding her. Wouldn't be that hard. And then the TARDIS could tell him where he was. And bam! He could head... wherever he wanted to. There was no one to say yes or no to whatever whim struck him any longer, after all.

"One small thing: escape is impossible" Ed had to add that little bit of info. "Net is near impossible to crack but I got into the PDA system a while back so it may be a weak firewall or my insticts kicking in" since Ed was almost totally self taught as a hacker. "But I can keep an eye out, a big blue police box should stand out"

The Doctor chuckled a bit at that. After slipping on his thick framed glasses he pulled that PDA out of his pocket and turned the sonic screwdriver to it. He quickly scrolled through the various faces that popped up on the screen pausing to blink for a moment at some of them, wondering how they could be there. Especially one in particular. But then he moved on, thinking that it was quite possible it was just... some lookalikes or something of the sort.

"Oh, ye of little faith," he said simply, grinning, eyes not leaving the little screen. "You've never been in a TARDIS."

"Now I'm curious!" Ed's eyes sparkled at that idea. "Ever hear of a place called Ganymede? I was heading there when this place decides to grab me and without my laptop to boot. As for the walking tin that's a whole other story"

"Ganymede?" The Doctor stopped what he was doing to look at the redhead. "No, can't say I've heard of it." The confusion even showed on his face just then. That made two places over the span of just a few moments that he'd never heard of. How did that happen, exactly? How did places skirt by him entirely unnoticed?

Something was wrong here. Very wrong. He could feel it.

And again, he looked up at the stars, frowning as he studied the layout. Still nothing. That wasn't how they were supposed to be laid out, not from any point in the universe. Not even from any time in the universe.

"Ok, you'll think I'm nuts but humor me" Ed ran with a running hunch. "What year was it when you got plucked and dumped here? It was 2077 for me and I was on Mars, this place has been running the map since besides me there's a girl from the 1940's to various other times"

"Well. That's a tough question, actually," The Doctor started, thinking back to the various times and places he'd been lately. "Oh, before showing up here I was on Barcelona." He paused, "The planet, not the city."

And then he chuckled a bit when she stated where she had been last. "Mars, hmm? Oh, Donna would love you. She was always insisting that I was a Martian even though I'm clearly not." Ah, Donna. Another of his old companions that he wouldn't be able to see again. At least this time he was staying away for her health and not because he had no other choice.

"Ok, now that is a new one!" Ed had to smile. "As for Ganymede its a moon where I know people, kinda my unoffical homebase of operations" she explained. "Plus I kinda have a feeling we're from different time periods"
