WHO: OPEN TO ANYONE IN THE GAME
WHAT: The aftermath of the explosion at the clinic.
WHEN: Not long after this.
WHERE: The rubble that was once the clinic.
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
NOTES: Okay, this is a post for anyone who wants to have their characters at the explosion site either helping out or injured or whatever else you can come up with. Clearly this thread will likely never be 'finished' but it gives us a chance to play some of this out instead of just handwaving it all, in one convenient spot. Just make sure, if you're going to have your character find another, that you check with the other player first so there isn't any confusion. Enjoy!

For the first few minutes after the explosion, Adam hadn't been able to hear anything. He had thought that he might have somehow been stricken deaf but realized, after reminding himself that he couldn't be stricken deaf, that it was likely just the dirt in his ears that was making hearing so difficult. He supposed you got dirt in your ears when you were buried alive beneath an entire building though. It seemed a fairly small thing to complain about, considering.

Not that Adam was complaining, really. He was a bit more shaken than he wanted to admit, particularly in those first few seconds of clawing his way out of the debris while doing his best to drag Adam Milligan with him, but he wasn't complaining. He was angry, certainly, and wanted very much to track down those responsible, but he definitely was not complaining. Because what did he have to complain about? As he slowly rose to his feet, after the shock had begun to wear off and he'd composed a message to the network, he took in the sights around. The dead and injured were littering the streets, children were crying on a nearby corner as crowds of onlookers continued to gather. People were walking about in a daze, dirt and blood caking their clothing.

No, Adam decided, he didn't have a thing to complain about at all. He did, however, have the means to help the others around him and without another thought to his own situation began to do just that... starting with doing what he could to remove the rubble around the area where he'd emerged.

Even though she'd been nowhere near the clinic when the explosion happened, Hermione felt as though her ears were ringing. Perhaps she was in shock, some part of her noted. Everything felt as though it were very far away. But she couldn't simply sit in the flat and do nothing - and grieve - and it wasn't as if Sherlock would let her cry on his shoulder, she reasoned.

So she Apparated to the sidewalk near the clinic and stumbled as what she expected to be smooth asphalt resolved into brick-strewn rubble. Hermione took a moment to close her eyes and told herself to calm down. Crying would help absolutely nobody right now. But tears began to flow from her eyes regardless as she started levitating chunks of walls and ceiling away from where they'd fallen.

Aang flew down to the sidewalk not far away, folding up his glider into staff form and slipping it into the sling across his back in one, easy motion. He hit the ground walking, never missing a beat, and fell into place beside the woman, using his earth-bending to continue levitating the rubble as well.

He kept his senses extended as they worked, alert for breaches in water or gas lines, and testing for air-pockets. His heart, too, ached for the loss of life he had just felt, but as the Avatar, he knew he would need to be strong for the survivors, even though they were strangers to him.

Abby was still new to Colligo. She wasn't really tied to anyone or anything other than the people she knew from home: Connor, Stephen, and Cutter. And, as far as she was concerned, that didn't matter at all. As soon as word got out about what happened at the clinic, she knew she had to help. It was instinctual, a quality she admired greatly of the creatures she watched over at the ARC.

Abby had slid her jacket on, pulled her hair back into a ponytail, and rushed down to what was left of the clinic. Others were already there, doing there best to move the rubble out of the way. Some were even using abilities that she would've thought impossible had she not seen them with her own two eyes. Still, she did her best not stare, forcing herself to concentrate. And then, one piece at a time, she, too, started to move away the rubble.
