WHO: Jeremy and Vicki WHEN: Friday night WHERE: Vicki’s apartment WHAT: Jeremy needs to talk to Vicki about their relationship RATING: TBD STATUS: In progress
Jeremy trudged wearily along the corridor to Vicki’s apartment. He didn’t want to have this talk with her, but he knew there was no point putting it off any more. He had kissed Anna. That had been wrong of him, but it had only illuminated that this – whatever this was – with Vicki just wasn’t really working. Too much had changed. The Jeremy of a year ago would never have passed up the chance to be with Vicki Donovan, but he’d grown up a lot since then. He wasn’t into the drugs and the drinking and the getting wrecked any more. He’d done that to forget, but he didn’t want to forget any more. He wanted to be part of something. And over the last few weeks, he couldn’t help but feel Vicki was holding him back from that. The others – well, Elena and Stefan – didn’t trust her, and Jeremy found he was getting tired of being defensive whenever anyone asked him where he was going, or who was coming over. Back home he’d been part of the team. Maybe not the most important part of the team, but he’d had his roll and he wanted to do more, not less. He loved Vicki, he always would, but it was stupid trying to pretend this could go on the way it had been. She was in love with a different person, someone Jeremy was only pretending to be for her sake. It wasn’t fair to let it drag on.
Jeremy stopped in front of Vicki’s door, trying to feel determined and strong. It was so easy to lose his resolve around her, like he had last time he’d tried to have this talk with her, but he couldn’t this time. It wasn’t fair on her. Or Anna. Or him. He had to do what was right. Hopefully, somewhere along the way, that correlated with him being happy. Slowly, Jeremy raised his balled fist and knocked on Vicki's door.
