Now, now wasn't this place interesting. Eye candy and his man were both trapped here with him. It was too perfect. He would have to play with them later. For now he would let the city distract him. There had to be something to do in this town or someone. He’d already found on but she couldn’t be the only lonely person in the world.

He walked down the street, his shirt covering the several guns concealed on his person. All within easy reach if anyone wanted to cause any problems. Stopping a minute, looking up at the stars. Time passed so slowly staying in one place for this long, he almost felt as if he were bored. Definitely needed something to do. Oh that wasn't good at all.

Finally continuing to walk to saw something at the corner of his eye but as he turned to look in that direction nothing was there. Huh? Boy, now he was seeing things. Maybe the boredom was already getting to him. Then he saw it. It was like a heavenly sign, a bar. As he walked in he looked around for someone interesting. A person at the bar caught his eye. He smiled as he moved in for the kill. “Hello,“ he said as he sat down next to them.

Anne had found more modern clothing, a pretty dress which fell just below her knee and was the most beautiful shade of red. At first she thought them all far too revealing considering the amount of layers she was use to, but she had witnessed girls with less than this on in her short time here so far. So she gave in to her love of clothing and found dresses that she knew suit her and would be exceptionally flattering. She was technically dead, after all, she might as well forget what people say is proper and go with what she liked.

She wasn't one for sitting in taverns all day, but she had found little friendship since she arrived. She had talked to the occasional person but nothing that really stood out as a potential friendship. Some may say it seems a little desperate to turn to those in a tavern for someone to talk to, but it really was not. In her experience, people were more open to discussing their thoughts and feelings when slightly drunk and therefore she wouldn't find herself being lied to. But she wasn't surprised when a man was the first to sit by her, taking a sip of wine to wet her lips before she glanced at him.

"Hello."

John couldn’t help himself. He was naturally attracted to beautiful things but this woman was something more. Out of everyone else she stood out. He knew that because walking over to her there were many attractive people. Still his course didn’t change. He just had to see how it went with her. If they didn‘t click, not likely, then he could move on to someone else.

He smiled when she said hello back to him.

Before speaking to the woman again he orders himself a drink, or two. He was sure that he would be ordering more as the night went on but two was a good start. He didn’t wait for the bartender to get to his drink before he turned his attention back towards the brunette woman. “I’m not taking the seat of some burly boyfriend that’s gone to the restroom, am I?” he asked with a light laugh. Although it could be one reason he was so drawn to her. He had a habit of going after someone else’s girl.

Her attention fell back to her wine as he spoke to the man serving the drinks, knowing already that she had this man's attention now. And she could already sense it was not friendship, purely by the way he had approached her. Men may be more upfront now, but she was still use to men showing an interest in her. However his question had her turning to face him.

"Boyfriend? I am sorry, that must be another new term."

She had never heard of it before, after all, and she knew there were a lot of common words now that had never been used back home. But she really was rather interested in hearing about it.

John leaned against the bar, his heading tilting towards her. His drink being set in front of him as he realized that she was from the past. He couldn't think of any other way that she would think that the word boyfriend was a new term. A light smile grew across his face.

"Courtship, taken, boyfriend," he said hoping that it was in a way that she'd understand.

Before she answered he started to down one of his drinks. Beer... he should have ordered something stronger.

"Oh. How strange a title to give someone in a courtship."

She really had learned a lot of strange things in this place, though she was rather interested to learn more. Though most of the things she had found here were rather useful, such as the new ways to clean and cook. The ways to travel, different to horses or a carriage, but not as shakey. Realising she hadn't answered him, she turned her eyes back to him and shook her head.

"I was married but...He was told some things about me that were false, but he believed them to be true. I suppose I did not give him what he wanted so he wished to find someone who would."

She knew after her last miscarriage that she would be lucky if he stayed with her.

"Boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, lover, friend," John listed as he circled the tip of his finger around the rim of an empty glass. "It's just different ways of telling someone that they're yours." Whether it be for a life time or a moment. Even a moment that could feel like a life time. He had been through that before. Although the moment lasted two weeks.. he wasn't about to think about that when he was with her.

He smiled. Now he was back to thinking about it. "I was married once,".. or twice," I believe it goes without saying but whoever let you go is an idiot."
