Who: Katherine Danvers & Open
What: She's at work, it's pretty quiet, so she's pretty bored
When: Around 9:30 at night
Where: Pacifico Nightclub
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

There were only so many times she could wipe down glasses, cut up more garnishes, clean the guns, or rearrange the back bar alcohol to her liking. After a while, there was just nothing for her to do. She'd been there for two hours, sold a few drinks to some drunk morons at the back of the club who weren't doing much. It was so quiet that the music wasn't even blaring. It would stay that way until it picked up, if it ever picked up tonight.

Kate leaned against be back of the counter. She was wearing a blue satin halter dress and a pair of black heals. Dressy, classy, they always had to dress up here for work, but she didn't mind. It meant her closet had more than ratted jeans and sweat pants in them.

There was a pencil in her hand, the lead part of it was tapping against the piece of paper on the bar that held all the measurements and recordings of the alcohol she'd done when she first got on shift. There was a nice spot of pencil smears beginning to form on the once neat looking paper. She liked her job well enough, though she she was supposed to be back in Toronto by now taking on summer courses and helping one of her teachers with a TA job. There were worse places she could be, and working here made good tips, but she didn't want to be stuck here. She wanted to travel, see the world. Not be stuck in one god forsaken city.

She was beginning to drawl meaningless lines on the paper, when she heard someone approached the bar, their scent mostly masked by alcohol. The stool scraped along the floor before she looked up, a smile on her face.

Alice was actually finding herself to be bored. The one person she knew here seemed to have disappeared, and she'd had no contact with the rest of her family, which seemed to be pretty standard. They were just plain cut off. She was finally making peace with the fact that she couldn't get in touch with the people she'd left behind no matter how hard she tried.

The tiny vampire was walking down a street, glad to be outside again, even though it annoyed her to have to wait until dark to do so. Forks was so much easier to live in. It was always cloudy and rainy, so she never had to worry about the sun shining off her skin and giving her away. She passed a nightclub as she was walking. She considered going in, and as soon as the thought crossed her mind, her vision of the future immediately blacked out. Alice paused in front of the door, her head cocked slightly to the side. Only werewolves had managed to ever black out her visions of the future.

Curiosity eventually won her over and she went inside the nightclub. It could have been dangerous, it was hit or miss in her experience as to whether or not werewolves were friendly toward vampires, but Alice felt she needed to check it out. She could handle herself despite her petite size. She made her way through the nightclub, following her nose. She really did hate the scent of werewolves. This one smelled different than the ones she was used to, though. She finally found herself looking up at a blond woman behind the bar. It must have been her. Alice approached the bar carefully, trying to discreetly watch the woman behind it, and pulled up a seat. The woman looked up and Alice returned her smile but did not speak.

First glance at the girl told Kate she was different. Breathing in her scent when she got close enough to get passed the alcohol confirmed it. Another vampire. She tilted her head slightly, waiting for the petite figure in front of her to say something. It Kate knew what she was, than this girl probably knew what Kate was. There was a lot more creature from the other world than she knew of.

"If you're looking for something to drink, we don't supply it." she said casually. "Though I've been trying to convince the manager otherwise." if some vampires were willing to drink pigs blood from a butchers, why not supply something here? Might attract another kind of crowed.

Either way, the girl would now know Kate was well aware of what she was talking to. Though who she talking to still remained to be seen. Her blue eyes examined the vampire infront of her. She didn't think she'd ever seen someone so pale. The eyes were...very strange. Those of the Otherworld tended to be good looking. Maybe it was a rule or something, but this girl was just gorgeous. Kate would have been jealous if she wasn't perfectly content with who she was. And if she didn't love being so tall.

Alice smirked. Well, at least they were on the same page, then. And since the woman hadn't leaped over the bar yet, they apparently could at least be civil while in public. That didn't mean she wasn't still on her guard, but at least she hadn't walked right into a fight or anything.

"That's fine," she answered. "I wouldn't expect it. Though I suppose that would be an interesting business venture in a place like this." She smiled despite herself. She wasn't used to being found out so easily, but it wasn't too disturbing since this woman was not human herself. Alice would have been much more uncomfortable had a human found her out.

"Since we both seem to know what's going on here," she began, her voice dropping low enough so that a human would have to be practically on top of them to hear it, "I do feel the need to ask if you're friendly toward my kind or if you're going to attack me the minute I walk down a dark alley or something." Might as well be direct about it. Of course, the werewolf could always lie to her, but Alice felt confident enough that she could tell if she were being lied to or not.

She shrugged lightly, still being quite relaxed against the back of the counter. "It would attract a different crowed, that's for sure." her roommate was also a vampire. She didn't know how many people here were, but if some of them didn't care if blood wasn't fresh out of the creature, it could be interesting. Give a new term to the idea of Bloody Mary.

Kate watched her carefully, one eyebrow raising when she asked if she was going to come after her in a dark ally. What the hell made the vampire think that? Wolves and vampires not get along that well in her world? "I don't know what my kind is like in your world. But jumping people in dark allys isn't really my thing." seemed kind of ridiculous to her. Mostly the members of the bump in the night club tried to get along. Sort of. There was a council to make sure no one got out of hand, and her family was part of that council.

"Why, are you planning on jumping me first?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. Because a violent vampire was sort of the last thing she really wanted to deal with right about now. Maybe she should introduce the woman to her roommate, they might get along, assuming they were both pro-human vampires. Otherwise she didn't want to see them in a room together.

Alice wasn't sure if a nightclub full of vampires and werewolves would be a great idea or a terrible one. She guessed it probably wouldn't be long until someone got killed and blew all their covers sky high. Or maybe there were some from places where they didn't have to hide from humans. That would be a nice world. She hated having to hide, especially since she was no danger to humans. At least, not on purpose.

The petite vampire nodded when the werewolf said that she didn't jump people in dark alleys. That was good to know. Alice was pretty sure that she was telling the truth. That didn't mean she would go turning her back on the woman or invite her over for tea or something, but she didn't feel like she was in serious danger. "No," she answered with a serene little smile. "Unlike some of my kind, I don't mind yours. I even worked with a pack back home before I came here. I don't feel the need to attack anyone unless they attack me or my family first."

"Uh huh." she said, pushing off the counter slightly and taking a few steps close to her side of the bar. She glanced around the room, looking at the small amount of patrons and staff in. They were drunk, talking, or otherwise not paying attention. "It isn't about what species you are where I from." she said, looking down at the vampire infront of you. "It's about if you're going to be trouble. If you don't get out of control, then there's no problem." it was also about Mutts, but that was purely a werewolf thing, and not the concern of the vampires.

She didn't know how the pack in her world worked, but she Kate was more than positive it wasn't the same as hers. She was getting the impression that no worlds were exactly alike. Too much difference, so she didn't even try to size people up based on what they were anymore.

Though if some of her kind arrived here that didn't like wolves, she'd have no problem telling them where to shove it.

Alice nodded, totally understanding that. "Well, you don't have to worry about me. My family and I, we consider ourselves vegetarians. I don't hunt or feed off humans." She hadn't tasted human blood in years and years. Everyone was weak in the beginning, but she had learned to control the thirst.

Just as Kate did, Alice supposed she wasn't all that similar to Jacob and the other Quileute wolves back home, but was similar enough to smell similar and block her visions of the future. She hadn't gotten a bad feeling from the woman yet. That was good.

"Not all of my kind would agree with you, but I do. I leave others alone so long as they aren't causing trouble. When humans or other vampires start to die, then someone inevitably steps in." It was strange still to Alice to be having a polite conversation with a werewolf, even if she didn't mind them nearly as much as others of her kind, including some of her own family. But she appreciated where this woman was coming from.

Kate blinked again, another vampire who didn't feed off humans. That was just weird. She couldn't care less if vampires fed off of humans. Not her thing, but wasn't that their nature? It was if their killing became out of control that the council in her world would step in. They should only need to kill once a year. Maybe that was different from this woman's breed of vampire though. It probably was. "That's...nice." she said, clearly puzzled by the girl. "Weird, but an interesting way of living." she couldn't see the vampires in her world living like that. They'd probably be insulted by the suggestion.

"It isn't just about humans" she said, dropping her voice and pausing for a moment as a man approached. She gave the woman an apologetic look before taking the mans order. One quick turn to the beer fridge, she pulled out two Corona's, had the tops off in a second, and was handing them over in exchange for cash. When he was gone, she turned back to her.

"Everyone's way of life needs to be protected. It isn't always the humans that need saving." though more often than not, they stuck their noses in where they didn't belong. "Sometimes the humans are the bad guys." like the ones who had captured her mother, and tried to lock her up. Some Supernatural Freak Museum. Containing the most powerful of every race. It hadn't lasted.

"I've had many others tell me it was weird, too," Alice replied with a smile, "But it only seems right to me. I can live perfectly well off of animal blood." Sure, the craving for human blood was still there, but it just wouldn't be right to kill another person for food. It didn't sit right with Alice.

"And I agree with you, it's not always the humans. But if a vampire, or even a werewolf, is causing trouble and killing too many humans, then we could be exposed. If too many humans knew that our kinds existed, then there would be torch-wielding mobs with stakes and crosses and silver bullets running wild. As long as they don't know we're here, we generally have nothing to fear from them. At least, that's what I've found." She shrugged. "But if it were to be humans coming around and hunting me, I'd have to consider taking them down as well." She didn't really like the idea, especially since the chances of a human actually injuring or killing her were practically zero, but she didn't want her or her family's cover blown. It could only cause trouble.
