A part of Stefan was excited for his..."humanhood", but another part was discouraged by it. Elena had to deal with being a vampire now, learning all the cravings, learning the pains. If she was still human, there was no doubt in his mind that he would have been having a completely different conversation with his girlfriend than what she should be eating and how often she should partake of blood. That thought hurt. This was probably the only chance he would ever have to fulfill the dream of a family with her...and he couldn't. But he wasn't going to let that ruin his time of mortality. His best friend in the world also just so happened to be human and she hadn't seen the sun in too long, and hell, they hadn't gone out and had fun in a while. That was going to change.

Stefan pulled a green hoodie on over his wifebeater and zipped it up as he made his way across the apartment to Lexi's room. Carefully, he gave a little knock to the door, one of his brows raising as he tried to listen in on what she was up to; it was so strange adjusting to being human after a century and a half and he actually felt naked without his ring. "Lex...I hear they have all-you-can-eat pancakes at that little place down the street. Wanna go? Then we can go swimsuit shopping." He took a step back and waited for her, absently stroking the vervain pendant in his pocket.

Lexi still couldn't believe she was human again. She'd spent the entire day prior, indulging in all the foods she'd never had a reason to eat before. After all, what was the point in eating when it didn't satisfy you? She'd also spent the majority of the day outside, justt walking through the closest park, enjoying the feel of the sun on her skin. It had been so long since she'd last felt the sun that she had been dissapointed when the sun went down.

Now, she had all the blinds in her room open and was just finishing getting dressed when Stefan knocked on the door. She pulled on a light jacket then opened the door, grinning, "Pancakes sound amazing right now. I forgot what it felt like to be hungry for food. It's not the same as a vampire."

Stefan lifted his head at his oldest friend and gave her a grin. "Oh believe me, I know. I eat with Elena on a daily basis, remember?" He was actually relieved that he didn't have to go out hunting or down some blood when he woke up in the morning. Being normal was...nice, but he'd begun to to get so comfortable in his own skin with Elena's help that he barely missed it. He dropped the pendant back into his pocket and suddenly got a mischievous look on his face. "I'll race you downstairs." Then Stefan was immediately running to the door, opening it and heading out into the hallway towards the stairs.

"Oh no you don't, Salvatore!" Lexi exclaimed, running after him, somehow closing the door behind her as she raced after Stefan. She may not have had her super human speed, but she was still fast and she caught up to Stefan easily.

She passed him on a turn on the staircase, thinking about how if she was a vampire she could just jump over the railing if she had to, but as a human she'd probably break about a dozen bones and that was no way to start off her time as human.

	He couldn't help laughing as he jogged after her, trying to catch up and ending up right on her heels. Crap, did it suck having human stamina, he really needed to cut down on the bunnies...and the Italian. "Lexi," he breathed out, chest heaving as he slowed to a stop in the building lobby and pressed his hands to the wall. That had been quite the little workout. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Doubled over, hands on her knees, Lexi sucked in deep lungfuls of air as Stefan finally reached the lobby, "I....I may be human now..." She took a deep breath as she straightened up, "But I'm still faster than you." She grinned, flipping long, blond hair over her shoulder.

She'd forgotten how quickly humans got winded from exheriting too much energy at once. Sure she'd seen it happen before, tons of times, but it was different when it happened to her. "So, where's that pancake buffet?"

He punched her weakly in the arm and tried not to stumble through the door and out the building to the street. Stefan made sure Lexi was following and started down the sidewalk, burying his hands into his hoodie. "A part of me can't wait to be human again. ...Would be different if Elena wasn't currently suffering from vampirism." The man took another deep breath, his green eyes flicking over to his best friend. "What about you?"

Lexi was surprised when even the light punch hurt a little and she rubbed her arm, sticking her tongue out at Stefan as she followed him out onto the sidewalk and began walking beside him, "I didn't realize how much I missed being human untl this. I mean, I embraced being a vampire a long time ago. Lee kept me connected to humanity for awhile, but after I turned him....I didn't really need to think about any of that anymore."

Stefan suddenly felt a pang of guilt--Lee. At home he had to go on living without Lexi...or die. Stefan didn't know the man that well, besides he was a good person, as though that wasn't obvious enough from him being with Lexi who was one of the best judges of character in existence. He smiled sadly at her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders to pull her into a little hug. "I understand. You know I tend to not...enjoy the vampire cravings... But I've been working on it. With Elena. ...I wonder if I might turn her one day. Spend eternity with her."

Lexi wrapped an arm around Stefan as they walked, "Do you think she'd want that someday?" If Lexi had to guess, she was pretty sure that was something Elena would want one day and she wouldn't blame her either. Although, it was a big decision and she was sure Elena wouldn't rush into it without weighing all the concequences. "She'd be a hundred times better than Katherine, you know. Hell, she already is."

"I think so...I wouldn't let her just...jump into it though. I'd want her to think about it. I know we haven't been together that long, but we love each other. I mean...she makes me feel like I've never felt before, and I know I do the same to her." A smile slipped onto his face and he laughed softly under his breath and pulled his friend closer--he was crazy for Elena Gilbert and he was hers, through and through. "I'm thinking about getting her a promise ring. It's kind of big, but I think we're ready for it. I'm sure Jenna will be less than thrilled, of course." Stefan didn't have plans to propose yet, they had plenty of time and Elena was still so young...but a promise ring, something that said that they belonged to each other and were planning a future, that was perfect.

He pulled away from Lexi to open up a door to one of the restaurants, a place that resembled an IHOP, but was smaller. Immediately the hostess got them a table and they were seated and left to dwell over their menus. Stefan looked over the array of flavored syrups instead.

	"Awwww, a promise ring would be so cute." Lexi grinned, glancing over at Stefan, "Stefan and Elena sitting in a tree....k.i.s.s.i.n.g..." She laughed, glad once more that Stefan was in this strange city with her. "Oh yeah, marriage will come, but no baby in a baby carriage, you know." That was one of the things Stefan hated about being a vampire, he wanted a family...a family with Elena. He thought that back in 1864 he would eventually be marrying Katherine...but even if he had, she couldn't exactly bear offspring either. But with Elena...together...they could overcome anything, that had already been proven more than once. As he watched Lexi, he smiled wide, green eyes flicking down to the menu. "Just don't order it all, you'll regret it..."

Lexi couldn't help but pout a little for her best friend and reached across the table to place a hand over his, "I'm sure there are other options if you ever decided you guys wanted kids. Sure, it'll look a little suspicious if you guys adopt and your kid turns twenty one and you both still look seventeen." She squeezed Stefan's hand, wanting to cheer him up.

"And I am planning on starting with a stack of chocolate chip pancakes and going from there." She said, taking her hand back to flip through the menu some more.

Oh yes, he could certainly imagine that, it would take a lot of trust and understanding between them and the child in that situation...and a lot of talking. Stefan wasn't sure how much he wanted to think about that right now, but he laughed softly at the thought. He would be happy if he just got to marry Elena and spend the rest of eternity with her as husband and wife. Elena Salvatore had a rather nice ring to it...

"Are you sure you don't want the smileyface pancakes," he asked, looking at her with a smirk for just a moment. "I think I'm going to go with waffles, personally."

	"No. No smileyfaces today. Maybe tomorrow." Lexi grinned as a waitress came over to take their drink orders and ask if they needed any more time to decide on their orders. Without asking Stefan if he waffles were his final answer, Lexi placed her order adding a plate of sausages and hashbrowns and orange juice then waited for Stefan. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"I'll take a plate of waffles with strawberries...and all the things she added. ...And coffee. Plenty of coffee." He smiled at the waitress and she did the same then left, looking back so she could check out Stefan--he didn't notice. 	"It's...good," he said with a smug smile, dropping his head so she couldn't see it. Things were actually still amazing, even though they couldn't really see each other, the things they had discussed over the phone... "She makes me crazy sometimes, Lexi." Stefan scrubbed a hand through his hair and sighed thoughtfully. "I never even felt this way about her." (Reply to this) (Parent)
