Although spring was well on its way, there was still a slight chill in the air coupled with a light wind that promised a likely cold front to follow. Not that Parker tended to pay too much attention to weather patterns, really. As a thief, she didn't care what season it was, there was always something she could steal. However when standing on a rooftop by yourself, the mind can start to wander in strange ways. And, when it came to Parker, it didn't get much stranger than having normal, average thoughts about something as mundane as the weather. Yes she was simply keeping herself occupied while waiting for her ride to arrive but that didn't change the fact that she very much was thinking about the weather. Of course, she could have instead busied herself with messing around with the various devices she'd been given for her little trip but she hadn't been joking when she'd told Tesla that she wasn't good at science. So she didn't think it would be a very good idea to start messing around with shiny objects that scientists had created. Even if a large part of her wanted to push the buttons and make all the cool noises and flashing lights go off, she knew it would likely end in disaster. Keeping her hands to herself really was much smarter.
The rumbling of the approaching delivery truck on the street below drew Parker out of her thoughts and back into the present. Instantly she was on alert, slinging the bag filled with the devices over shoulder while stepping out onto the ledge. As the truck rounded the corner, she began her mental countdown, starting at ten. As she reached the number one, the truck reached the spot on the street directly below where she stood on the roof above. With no preamble, and even without her trademark excited 'woohoo' that she almost always said mid-leap, Parker stepped off the roof and calmly dropped the five stories onto the top of the truck. She landed in crouch, slapping her left palm (or, more importantly, the magnetic suction cup she'd attached to her hand) onto the metallic roof so she didn't slide right off. With her right hand, she grasped hold of the edge of the boxed truck's roof nearest the front and hefted her left hand free from the metal surface. It took a few seconds but, by the time the truck had started to reach the outside of the city, she was in position and ready to strike.
The strike itself didn't take very long and wasn't terribly impressive. Parker simply slid, belly first, across the roof of the cab then bent at the waist, dropping her upper torso over the edge. Now literally dangling, upside down, outside of the driver's window, she simply rapped her knuckles against the glass, smiled, and waved. Just as she'd expected, the driver took notice, looked as though he might have a heart attack, and promptly jerked the truck to the side of the road. Waiting patiently for him to roll down his window, Parker's grin grew when he did just that.
"Hey there!' she exclaimed brightly. "Uh... sorry about this." And with that, she shoved one hand through the open window and shoved a taser into the man's chest. Within a few seconds he was unconscious and Parker was sliding, belly first, in through the open window. She shoved the man to the passenger seat, made sure to snap his seatbelt into place, then began setting up the devices. Once she'd followed the instructions their creators had given her on how to make sure they got the best readings possible, the blond thief simply pulled the delivery truck away from the curb and calmly continued to drive it out of the city. She knew that she wouldn't remember the trip once she hit the city lines. She'd either go unconscious or her memory of what happened would be wiped or something to that affect. But she was hoping that she had enough equipment from different sources to get at least a few useful readings.
And, if not... well, at least she was having fun. When it came to Parker, most of the time that was all she ever asked for anyway.
