WHO: Jeremy and Vicki
WHEN: Right after Jeremy arrives
WHERE: Apartment 401D
WHAT: Jeremy wants to see a familiar face again
RATING: TBD
STATUS: Incomplete

Jeremy was in a daze. He didn't quite understand what was going on here, wherever "here" was. Another planet? He didn't want to buy that. That was just impossible. But so was the fact that he was on his way to see his twice dead vampire ex girlfriend. He wasn't far off the point where he'd put money on the fact that this was all elaborate hoax. Still, the stairs beneath his feet as he trudged upwards felt very real.

He'd taken the stairs, avoiding the lift. He wasn't sure he wanted to rush to see Vicki. For months he had known she was dead, yet here she was, in this place. He had moved on since then. He had grown and flourished. He'd fallen in love with Anna and survived an overdose. He was a different person now, but seeing her name there, seeing her messages, he knew he still cared about her.

Finally reaching the landing outside the address she'd given him, he took a deep breath. He didn't know how to react to seeing her again. He didn't know what to say or do. Gulping, he raised his hand. It hovered in front of the door for a moment before he knocked.

Katherine had told Vicki that her emotions now would be heightened, but little could have prepared her for this. She was so very happy to see Jeremy, alive and well and here, but at the same time....she was terrified that he hated her, hated what she had become. Elena had said that all this time had passed, so there was just...no way he would still feel like that about her. It was dumb to think think he did, but she couldn't help but still hope he would.

When the knock came, Vicki crossed the room in a blur, then hesitated on her side of the door. She bit her lip as she gathered her resolve, then pulled the door open. Seeing him brought a huge smile to her face, and she was stepping forward and wrapping her arms around him for a tight hug before she could help herself. She'd felt pretty much alone in Colligo, despite Katherine helping her, but seeing him made her feel a little closer to home.

Jeremy hardly had time to think before the door was opening. She must have been standing right behind it. Either that or she was on the other side of the room and he was being stupid for forgetting she was a vampire. It was just so hard to think of her that was. She was just Vicki. She'd just left one day. He would miss her, but it was for the best. All that time, she'd been dead. Her body had been rotting out in the forest somewhere. She'd been all alone, and he'd done nothing about it.

Before he could do or say anything, her arms were around him. It felt nice to be near her again, but so surreal. He'd imagined this so many times, but never dreamed it would happen. "Vicki," he murmured, lifting his arms to wrap around her, one hand rising to stroke her hair. How could this feel so natural after so long?

Her head rested on his shoulder and she closed her eyes, for a moment feeling normal again. For him it may have been a while, but for Vicki, she'd seen him only a few weeks ago, and she had missed him so much. She was on the verge of tears when she finally lifted her head and gave him a small smile. "...Hi." She had to laugh a little at the lameness of the world, but she didn't let him go, just studying him. There were differences, sure. He looked a little older, a little less innocent - though he hadn't been all that innocent before, tied up in sex and drugs with her. He still felt the same, and smelled the same, and that's what was important.

Still smiling, she lay her head down again, just glad to hold him.

Jeremy looked down at her as she lifted her head. It was like a dream to see her again; it felt real, but he had a horrible feeling he was going to wake up any second now and she'd be gone. "Hi," he replied, a smile spreading across his lips. It seemed a stupid thing to say to someone you were seeing after months of thinking they were dead, but it was all he could think of. Usually you didn't have to think in dreams.

Jeremy let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding as she lay her head back on his shoulder. His arms were around her, one around her waist, holding her against him, the other at the top of her back, his hand gently running through her hair. It took him a moment to remember what a bad idea it was for her mouth to be anywhere near his neck.

Gulping, he pulled away from her, letting his arms fall limply to his sides. A lot had happened since Vicki was the girl he remembered. He had changed, and she definitely had too. Still, he couldn't quite force himself to believe he was over her. He looked at her sadly, chewing his bottom lip.
