Who: Dexter and Morgause
What: Dexter drops by his ex-wives apartment.
Where: Morgause's flat
When: Early morning, March 8th.
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

Dexter knocked on the door, waited what seemed like an appropriate length of time, then pushed it open and stuck his head around into the blonde sorceresses flat. "Morgause?"

He slipped around the corner, tredding with his usual light, barely audible footsteps into the kitchen, where the faint sounds of movement could be heard. Dexter was good at sneaking around - you had to be, to do what he did. He could make himself invisible, undetectable, in a way that was probably not as effective as Morgause's particular methods for staying unseen but was all he could manage. Like he'd said to her, they weren't all blessed with magic.

"Morgause?" he repeated, stepping into the kitchen and recognising the blonde woman who stood with her back to him. When she noticed him, Dexter offered her a shadow of a smile that failed to fill his empty eyes, holding out the box he was cradling against his chest. But Dexter was in as good a mood as he ever was, which wasn't saying much for a man who was pathologically incapable of emotion, but never mind. He'd had a good night. A productive night.

"I brought donuts."

Morgause was bored, to say the least, so had taken to stirring a cauldron like bowl as she made a new potion. It wasn't anything important, just enough to put to the side in case Morgana started having problems now that she had her sight back. She knew that losing her ability to see things around her also had her losing the ability to see visions and other such things. And if they started troubling to her, Morgana would be ready.

She had heard Dexter as he came in but didn't quite pull herself away from what she was doing. She just had a few things to add and it wasn't until she was done that she turned to face Dexter. She knew he wouldn't think her rude; he should know what she was like whenever she was doing some sort of work like this.

"How kind of you. I wasn't expecting a visit, though you're most welcome."

Dexter smiled and placed the box of donuts down, revealing half a dozen of the glazed snacks. He used to bring these for the people in the office and Cody and Astor all the time - even if feeding children sugar first thing in the mornings probably wasn't advisable. Out of everyone back home, Dexter probably missed those two kids most. He was... fond of them. Still, he shrugged and pushed the box towards Morgause, settling down on one of the kitchen chairs.

"I had a good night. Thought I'd share some of the morning's leftover good-feeling." He let Morgause take what she wanted from the box, then helped himself and glanced over her shoulder to where a cauldron was bubbling. How... traditional.

"What's cooking?" he asked the blonde around a mouthful of breakfast, nodding towards the bubbling mixture.

Morgause tucked a lock of blonde hair behind her ear as she walked close, inspecting the box. She may not have tried everything here, even in the length of time she had been stuck in this place, but she was willing to try. And she was sure she had these before, though probably not more than once or twice. She tended to stick to the foods she was more acquainted with and use to.

"And what did this night contain to make it so good?" she asked as she sat up on the seat next to him. At his question, her eyes went to the cauldron before looking back to him. "A sleeping draught. A very powerful one."

"I just... got a lot of things ticked off my list," Dexter shrugged and took another bite of donut, chewing on it for a moment. He'd actually spent the last few hours precisely dismembering someones body, wrapping it up in bin bags and carefully disposing of the pieces in the lake. He had a blood slide with a fresh droplet on it in his jeans pocket - he needed to buy a new case for them before he went home. But for a while after a kill, Dexter always felt a lot... happier, if that was possible for him. Calmer, at least.

"Oh?" he turned his gaze back to the cauldron. "Not for you, I hope?" He and Morgause had, after all, shared a bed with the blonde when they were 'married', and he hadn't noticed her having any problems then. But then, one of the benefits of being a monster like him was that he tended to sleep like a log, not even interrupted by dreams or, laughably, nightmares.

But he'd enjoyed being married to Morgause. She was somehow like him, she carried some kind of dark shadow that pushed her to do things others wouldn't consider He just needed to work out just how like him she was. He didn't want to repeat his frankly embarrassing blunder with Tessa.

Morgause raised an eyebrow at the mention of a list but did not question him. She could guess, after all. Picking up one of the donuts, she pulled a small part of it from the rest and placed it into her mouth. The taste wasn't too bad, rather pleasant actually. And she had tasted worse. His interest in the potion and what it was for would normally be dismissed, unless it was Mordred or Morgana, but Dexter was a little too like her for her to really dismiss his companionship, which included his curiousity.

"No, not for me. For someone I care deeply for. She may not need it yet, but I wish to be prepared just in case."

She cared for no one more than she cared for Morgana, and Mordred came a close second. She would do anything for them both, Morgana was blood. But Mordred had this undeniable power which had just drawn her to him, made her so willing to teach him what he wanted to know. He had a great destiny waiting him.
