Lexi knew something was off before she'd even woken up completely. The first give away that something wasn't right was the sound of a heartbeat reaching her ears from someplace very close. In fact she could have sworn it was coming from right next to her. Next to her?

Rolling over quickly, her eyes snapped open and she gazed down at the man sleeping beside her then glanced around at the unfamiliar room before returning her attention to the stranger in bed next to her. Well this was interesting. She hadn't woken up with a random guy in her bed in a very long time and just because Lee wasn't here, she wasn't about to start now.

Wanting answers, she reached over, shaking the guy by the shoulder, which was when she noticed the ring on her hand. She stared at it for a moment as her hand stilled on his shoulder then she started laughing. She'd been in town two days and she was already married. Wait till she told Stefan.

Sam had never been a heavy sleeper. As soon as she touched him, he surged upward, gasping for breath. A hand thrust up under his pillow, and if his knife had been there he would have raised it in an offensive gesture. No one should be close enough to touch him. Dean and Claire knew not to to sneak up on him and his recent spouse had learned not to touch him when he was sleeping.

His eyes, wild for a moment, settled on her. "Who the hell are you?" he asked, voice just shy of wavering. He stared at her, soaking in her features. He'd never seen her before. His eyes flickered, looking to his left hand. Great. The ring was still there, and it matched the one on her hand.

She stopped laughing the moment Sam shot up and even if he had, had his knife, Lexi would have been too fast for him, but since he came up empty handed she stayed put in bed, quirking a brow at him, "I appear to be your wife, cupcake." Smirking, she flipped her long blond hair over her shoulder, "Name's Lexi, by the way and you seem pretty jumpy." The guy was definitly attractive, but Lexi guessed this wasn't about attraction and sex, but more about testing people.

"Of course I'm jumpy, I just woke up with a woman I don't recognise!" Sam shot back. He hadn't calmed down at all, but he had taken a breath, and he was able to look her over. Lexi. The name didn't ring any bells. He definitely didn't know her, but she seemed a little too...alive, to be a local. He wasn't sure alive was the right word, but he couldn't think what the right word would be, so it had to do.

"Name's Sam," he added after a moment. He knew her name, she deserved to know his. He didn't want her objectifying him just because she didn't have a name to call him.

She may have appeared laid back, but she still on her guard; at least until she made sure Sam wasn't evil or anything. Sam shook his head. "i was married to someone else last week." How he could say that like it was the most normal thing in the world was beyond him. It wasn't like they were discussing the weather.

"Crazy shit happens in this town." Toclafane, zombies, truth tellings and people doing crazy things like you'd see on a soap opera came to mind right off. Plus there was the dinosaur thing, and the pirate ship that Sam hadn't been around for, and who knows what else. He was convinced that 'Colligo' must mean 'crazy weird' or something in some other language.

"My friend Stefan told me the rules the other day, so I know we can't be more then fifty feet apart unless one of us has to work." Lexi said, now leaning against the headboard, curling a strand of long blond hair around her finger, "Oh, and if we're going to be stuck together for the time being I guess I should tell you that I'm a vampire." Normally she didn't go around telling random strangers that she was a vampire, but if they weren't allowed to be apart then there were consequences for Sam and that meant going out during the day was out unless that's when Sam worked, if he worked.

"You're a..." Sam closed his eyes. he raised a hand to rub his forehead and pinch his nose. "I got shackled to a vampire?" He winced, and drew in a breath. "I'm sorry. I'm not usually so...crass." No, that was more Dean's angle. At least the older, future formula Dean would be crass. hell, he'd have gone for her throat the moment the "V" word came out of her mouth.

"I usually kill vampires." Honesty time. he didn't really see any point in lying or evading the truth. He had been around enough to know he couldn't harm her while they were 'married', not without hurting himself. And just because she was a vampire didn't mean she was evil, right? If nothing else Colligo had taught him to be a little more open minded about the things that went bump in the night.

Fate, or whoever had stuck them together, apparently had a sick sense of humor, "You don't have to worry though. If I were going to bite you, I would have done it already. I don't kill humans for blood." Which reminded her, she would have to find out where Damon was now to get some blood. She hated having to rely on Damon, but she he had offered and he owed her. "So, you don't have to worry about being a midnight snack."

"Good to know." Sam narrowed his eyes at her. She didn't kill humans for blood. great, if he believed her. "But you still drink human blood, yeah?" Sam had been there, sort of, with his demon blood addiction. He felt a twinge deep in his gut, and it took considerable mental effort to push it back down.

He'd gone to Aziraphale for help, after Cas got sent away, and he no longer felt the pull of addiction, but he still carried the memories. he remembered how it felt to hold Ruby in his arms, to close his lips over her self inflicted wound...And he really, really, really didn't need to think about that.

"Or you know what? I don't want to know. You just do what you have to do, and I'll do what I have to do, okay?" He closed his eyes and scrubbed a hand over his face. Whoever pulled the strings in Colligo had a wicked sense of humor.

"Lets just say I'm one of the good ones." Lexi said, tossing her hair over her shoulder before glancing around the room again, glad that the blinds were drawn; at least whoever stuck them here was nice enough to take a few precautions first. She'd already died once, she didn't want to do it again cause someone forgot to close the blinds.

"So, are our clothes transported with us to our new rooms when this happens?" Lexi didn't have much since she'd only been there a few days, but thanks to Stefan she'd atleast gotten a few things to get her started.

"Yeah, you should find at least some of your things in the closet, the drawers, where ever." Sam shrugged. He'd been through this whole fiasco just a week before. He wasn't thrilled to be doing it again. With a vampire, a vamp who claimed she was a 'good one'.

"What the fuck is a good one?" he asked, then frowned. He thought to apologise for swearing, but decided against it. She was a vampire, she could handle a four letter word.

Lexi slid out of bed, glad that she'd worn pajama pants and a tank top instead of a nightie, not that she was particuarly shy or anything, but she didn't know how much Sam could handle at one time. "As I already said, I don't bite or kill humans to get blood. Yes, I drink human blood, but usually from blood banks."

She pulled open a drawer, smiling to see her clothes there. If her clothes magically appeared here, would they magically appear back in her room at Stefan's when this was over? "Blood is food, but humans aren't."

"Good to know." Sam made a face. Was she for real? He gave her a once over. She seemed sincere, but she was a vampire. Who could tell? Sam hadn't really bothered to chat it up with the vampires he came across before this. He deemed them evil, and so he killed them.

"So I'm guessing sunlight isn't your friend. Good thin you don't have to go with me to work." He wondered if he'd be able to toss in a jog after work. He needed to stretch his legs.

	"Nope, unfortunately me and sunlight do not get along," Lexi had often wondered if there was a way for her to get a ring like Stefan and Damon's, which allowed them to walk in the sun, but had never really gotten around to asking Stefan about it. At least if he was thinking about work, he wasn't thinking about this new 'wife' drinking blood, which in turn made him think about drinking blood...And that had the potential to become a vicious cycle.
