What: Making use of the pool
When: Afternoon, around 3pm
Where: The Pool
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

Every now and then you suddenly had a need to go do something, and as she was heading home from work that afternoon after a fairly busy morning shift, Kara had decided to make use of the pool. She hadn't gone there yet. It wasn't like she really needed the exercise, but maybe it would be relaxing. It had been a while since she had been swimming. She only had her red two piece, but grabbing it anyway, she stuffed it into a bag and headed to the building that the pool was located in.

Surprising enough, it was actually pretty quiet when she got there, she had the facility to herself, which was nice. She had never spent much time in one, but she pictured screaming kids. Maybe it was just because there was a lack of screaming kids in the city.

Kara took advantage of the silence, and dove in. Swimming laps was relaxing. She didn't get tired, and she could cheat to use her strength to take her through the water faster, to the point that it almost felt like she was half flying over the waters surface. She probably was.

She was down in the shallow end, just leaning against the wall when she heard the door to the pool deck open, causing her attention to shift to whoever was entering. Standing up, she took a few steps further into the pool, looking toward the doors that lead to the change rooms. She assumed the person was coming from there.

Christine had always enjoyed swimming, even if it was something that she didn't get to do very often. She'd always been too busy as a kid- with homework, studying, tutors (a scholar, born and bred)- that she'd never had time to play any sports or join any sort of extra curricular activities. Since her time in Colligo, she'd made a point of swimming every afternoon, and had soon dropped into the habit.

For the most part, when she arrived at the pool, it was empty. She figured it was because the locals didn't like fun, probably. However, this time, as she entered the pool deck, she noticed somebody standing in the shallow end of the pool. She held the door open with her foot as she quickly finished fixing her hair into its braid and then let the door close, a brief apologetic look crossing her face.

"Sorry, I didn't meant to interrupt you," She said to the other woman, dropping her towel and bag on a chair as she approached the pool. "Normally it's pretty deserted here." She added with a nervous smile, twirling the end of her braid around her finger as she looked down.

Brushing a few strands of hair that were stuck to her face out of her eyes, Kara smiled slightly, shaking her head. "It's a public pool." she said in a friendly voice. "I was sort of surprised about how empty it was." Maybe it was just the time period. It was only shortly after three, many people would still be working right? Maybe it would pick up later, or maybe the locals really just had no interest in swimming at all. She had to wonder what they did with their free time in between being completely useless at everything besides whatever jobs they had been assigned. That might have been harsh, but she was annoyed with them. Like most people.

This woman was clearly not one of the pod people, she wasn't a local, which meant she was just as stuck here as the rest of them. She'd much rather share a massive pool with one a hundred people that were stuck here than one person who was a local. She found them completely frustrating, and had her fill of them at work.

She'd pressed herself back up against the wall by then, getting ready to go for a few more laps shortly. "I think we can manage to share without running each other over." she added with a grin. She'd have to be careful now, swim at a normal pace so as not to stir up the water too much and throw her off. She was just enjoying the swim, even if it didn't much for her in the exercise field.
