Lorne knew from strange. He lived in L.A. after all and had sat through Mariah Carey in Glitter, highly disappointed but somehow already forseen it when she had sung in an award show previous to the movie's release. He really did know from strange. But grabbing onto a bottle to feed Connor and ending up in a library .... Now, that. That was a little strange even for him. Not to mention uncomfortable. Lorne wasn't a big fan of portals that came from or threw people into libraries. Not since what had happened to Fred. He thanked the gods and goddesses, that little Angel hadn't been in his arms, because-Lorne thought as he looked at the bottle in his fists-that would have caused a big Angel-sized crisis like no other. As it was, Lorne was suspecting that Fred was currently putting together the pieces and realizing that his sudden disappearance was not intentional. Give the fact that he'd been feeding Connor while he ended up in some weird library that didn't even have titles on all of it's books, Angel was probably considering decapitation of Gerber Bottle's CEOs. As much as Lorne loved his Angel-Cakes, and as flattered as he was by what he knew would be well meaning over-protection ... he wouldn't deny that Angel was a bit .... slow at times. Just a little bit.
Because there was strange and there were crazy theories. Gerber being filled with demons was definitely one of them. Sighing, Lorne hoped that Cordelia killed that idea quicker than she did most.
Lorne heard the clunk, clunk movement before he saw it and managed to duck low and peer through the books to see of all things, knights making their way toward him. Actual men in suits of armor. He looked at the bottle with a raised brow and a skeptical expression. Maybe there had been something in the milk.
He attempted quickly to try pulling at a few of the books to see if they would send him back or something but he was stopped when a hand was clamped onto his shoulder. "Hey, there big fella, that kind of hands on contact isn't something that happens until at least the fourth date. What kind of demon do you think I am?" They didn't even turn to look at him or pause in their dragging him away from the books. "Can't we talk about this? How about - Watch how you're handling the suit!" Lorne snapped as they continued their march and then just chucked him out.
Lifting himself up, he muttered, "Of all the .." As he brushed off the wrinkles and the dirt. Nothing hurt but his pride.
When he looked up what he saw took Lorne's breath away. He had seen quite a few possible end of the world scenarios but this one certainly took the cake. Icing and all.
Lorne slowly raised what was in his hand up toward his mouth and then blinked when he quickly realized that what was his hand was the bottle. Not at all what he needed. And boy did he need it right about now.
He closed his eyes as wave after wave of pain hit him. Fear, anger, terror, and so many strong and suffocating emotions. He had to sit, stumble, onto the steps before he passed out.
What he wouldn't give for a sea breeze.
