"Thanks ever-so," he said, and stepped inside, raising an eyebrow as he got the once-over. He didn't bother taking the glasses off, which was incredibly rude of him, but his eyes hurt and he figured that people would let him get away with it without comment.
"This pretty much painted itself. I started working on it after we first shared dreams, but that's probably going to be more than obvious. I hope you like it," he explained, and then handed the painting over to his friend. Normally, he wasn't shy about his art or offering it to people. He knew he was good, he knew what to paint to please people, but this was something intensely personal and he normally kept such things hidden very deeply inside of himself. But the painting had needed to be done, and when he finished it, it was more than obvious that it wasn't intended to be his, and so he handed over the painting and chewed on his lower lip as if he was nervous.
