WHO: Sherlock Holmes & Molly Walker
WHAT: Sherlock isn't sure the protocol now that Mohinder's returned home, but he continues to use the lab anyway.

Sherlock had no idea exactly what he was supposed to do with Mohinder having returned home and left the lab without a proper overseer. Using someone else's lab had always been his routine as keeping up the sort of responsibility that came with being in charge of someplace had never been something that Sherlock had been cut out for, but now, with the lab in limbo, Sherlock felt as though he could continue using it without any obligations. Just pretend as though the situation didn't exist, and it wouldn't matter.

Of course, there was also the issue of Mohinder's abandoned research, the projects that would go unfinished, and even while Sherlock hated having people mess with his work when he wasn't around, he couldn't resist his own curiosity. Leaning over Mohinder's microscope -- slide still in place from its last use -- he adjusted the view and peered down at the sample. And it didn't take Sherlock long to figure out what that murky orange-red smudge on the slide was. The cell division alone made it all too clear that it was some of Claire's blood that Mohinder had kept on hand for experiments.

Of course, why he had been looking at it up close enough was a mystery that would remain unanswered unless he came back.

Molly hadn't been in the lab since Mohinder had returned home. It wasn't that she was avoiding it as much as she saw no reason to go there. Both of the Doctors had their TARDIS' and Sherlock had gone back to his flat during the last few days of the zombie invasion so she hadn't expected him to return either. Yet when she finally decided to go to the lab, primarily to pack up her Papa's things so they weren't just sitting around collecting dust, she found Sherlock was very much there. He was also looking at the very things Molly had come to pack away.

Setting down the empty box she'd brought just in case she needed to take anything back to the apartment, Molly next put down the dinner she'd picked up on the way over. There was plenty for two and the food wasn't bad, but she knew Sherlock really only ate in the lab to humour her and didn't see any reason to force him to do so now.

"Find anything interesting?" she questioned to break the silence and announce her presence. There wasn't any malice or upset in her tone. She didn't find it odd or wrong that he was looking over someone else's research. If anything, she thought her Papa might appreciate whatever he was working on potentially being carried further by a pair of fresh eyes that he'd at least somewhat trusted.

Sherlock had glanced up at Molly's entrance, both surprised and not that she was there. Offering her a slight smile, Sherlock turned his attention back to the microscope for a long moment as he adjusted the settings and increased the magnification, "Your father's projects were always interesting," Sherlock said with a vague amusement in his voice. "Far more fascinating than anything that I've come across in all of my tinkerings and toilings," He said before leaning back and switching off the backlighting to the microscope.

"It's amazing that even outside of the body, this blood continues to thrive and multiple. Most sample slides die within a matter of hours, leaving only the imprint to be preserved," He said, looking over at Molly. "Come to put things straight?" He asked, glancing at the projects that were left about the place.

Molly moved to the other end of the table where Sherlock stood, systematically piling notebooks up as he talked about Claire's blood. She glanced up, meeting his gaze, when he asked her why she was there. With a slight smile, she nodded.

"I figured I'd clear up some space," she said quietly as she looked back to the notebooks. Her fingertips danced lightly across the cover before she gathered the books up and put them in the empty box. Tucking some hair behind her ear, she glanced back to Sherlock.

"I'm not going to break down and start sobbing, if that's what you're worried about," she assured him. The small smile was still there. Not quite reaching her eyes but not as forced as some might think. "I know he's gone home and I know I'll see him again, eventually. But it still just... sucks." She sighed and shook her head, putting a few more notebooks into the box.

"Did you want me to keep anything specific here?" She asked in almost the same breath. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you picked up where he left off on some of this stuff."
