WHO: Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs WHAT: Taking advantage of the honesty to have the worlds most awkward reunion. WHEN: Late evening. WHERE: Peter's flat. Probably. And the hall. RATING: PG-13, for the swearing fiasco. STATUS: In progress.
"Moony!" Sirius banged a fist on the older Marauder's door, making it shake a little as he bellowed through the wood. Sirius took a moment to glance back at James with a shrug. "These doors are poorly constructed," he informed him, before turning back to the familiar door and pounding once again. "Remus! Come on! Me and Prongs are going to see Wormtail, and I need you there to stop me going to prison a few years early."
Ah. Honesty. You had to admire it. But it seemed fitting somehow that all three of them were there when they spoke to Peter. And sometimes it didn't hurt to have a responsible adult around.
Rather than wait for a reply, because he could hear bustling around inside the Lupin's apartment and was pretty sure Remus would be appearing at any moment, Sirius turned and strode the short distance down the corridor to Peter's closed door. Was it odd that the idea of that rat living so close to his best friend and his cousin made him horribly uncomfortable? Once there, the long haired man paused, bouncing restlessly on the toes of his combat boots and spinning round to look back to where he'd left James.
Sirius would never (willingly) admit it, but when it came to their tight little group, James was in charge. And Sirius wouldn't do anything until the other two said so. Usually. There was a moment's silence, before Sirius groaned and jumped anxiously from one foot to the other, still balanced just beside Peter's doorway.
"Come ooooooon!" he whined. "Tell Moony he doesn't need to put on a cardigan to cross the hall." Another long moment of jumping on the spot. "Right. Screw this. I'm knocking." And the manic knocking restarted on Peter's door.
