Who: Genderswapped!Robs and Marian
What: Genderswap, waking up
Where: Their room
When: Morning
Rating: TBD
Status: Closed, incomplete

Robin rolled from his back to his side as he awoke, lifting an arm to place over Marian. And then went still, his arm in mid air. That was...that was not his arm. What? With a frown, he brought his hand closer to his face. Not a calloused palm, but smooth skin. Was he dreaming? Sitting up, he looked down at himself, eyes widening in something akin to horror, or disbelief. Saints above, were those...? Pushing back the blankets, he climbed out of bed, only to just about fall over when he did. He was not supposed to be this short. Still, height seemed the least of his problems at the moment.

Once he reached the bathroom he shut the door, turning on the light and moving to stand in front of the mirror. It was not his own face staring back at him. It was a woman's face. One he did not readily recognise. What in the hell was going on? He had not lost his mind again, he was sure. He had to be dreaming. He did not even want to think what other changed this meant that there was.

Not wanting to alarm her but unsure what else to do, Robin moved back in to the bedroom, feeling strange walking on such small feet. Once on Marian's side of the bed he knelt down, reaching out one ridiculously small looking hand and placing it on her shoulder.

"Marian?" Oh lord, his voice.

She vaguely felt Robin leave the bed but did not pay much attention as she soon dozed off straight away. They didn't always get up at the same time unless they had to, and she wasn't working until later in the morning so she wasn't moving for another hour or so unless she had to. And usually she did, because Robin would not let her sleep when he was awake if he had one thing on his mind.

Soon she could almost feel his gaze on her and she hid a smile. But that wasn't his hand on her, and nor was it his voice. Opening her eyes, she found herself looking at another woman and immediately shot back, grabbing her robe at the same time and pulling it on tight. Where was Robin? She felt him move. Her eyes flittered around the room until they landed firmly on the woman before her.

"Who are you?" She kept any fear hidden because her one concern was for the person not there. "What have you done with Robin? If you've hurt him I swear you wont know what has hit you."

Though the idea was laughable. As if the woman before her had the ability to do anything to her husband. He may not fight a woman, or hurt one, but that didn't mean he would allow one to get the better of him unless he done so willingly.

He sat back on his heels and then stood as she shot away from him. He did not want to scare her. He could not help but be proud of her reaction, even though it solidified the fact that this was no dream. She was also seeing him as someone else. This was real. She might have been afraid, but she was not letting that show.

"Marian," he said again slowly once she was still again, trying not to become distracted by how high his voice had become. "It's me." How on earth could he explain this to her? This wasn't his body, it wasn't as if there was some way he could prove it. He took a step closer to the bed. "There is no one else here. I woke up...like this."

She took a step back when the woman took one step closer to the bed, starting to wonder exactly what she could use against her. She didn't look too strong so it wouldn't take much. But she was almost too distracted to really listen. What did she mean by that? Of course she woke up like that, she was a woman and likely always had been. But then she properly looked at her and her eyes fell on the woman opposite her's own eyes. Eyes far too famiiar.

"Robin?" she asked quietly, still completely unsure and thinking she must be mad to think that.

"Yes," he said hopefully, with just a hint of desperation, seeing the spark of recognition on her face. "It's me." The way his voice was sounding at the moment, he sounded a lot more worried than he wanted to. He was trying to remain calm, knowing that any other reaction would be counter productive, but it was no easy feat.

He looked down at his hands, and had to bite back a somewhat hysterical laugh, catching sight of his...no, not his, this chest again. He had gone to bed as himself, and woken up as a well endowed woman. There was simply no dealing with this place.

When the woman responded her eyebrows shot up. If this was anyone else she would laugh. But not her husband. She took a step back once again, her eyes going to the floor before she closed them. She just wished this place would stop messing around with her life. It was going to turn her insane.

"No. No, not again."

Robin, if it really was him, would know what she meant. Not something wrong for the second time in such a short while. Blackout she could deal with, her husband suddenly developing female parts to his body not so much. She should be talking to him, figuring things out. But she felt so confused and angry at this place.

'No, not again' was probably the most delicate way of putting it. His wording would have been just a little more colourful. He ran a hand through his hair, which only reminded him how long it was now, and sat on the edge of the bed. Even something as simple as sitting felt different, and strange, and reminded him of just another way his body had been altered. It was not a pleasant reminder.

"I am beginning to dislike this place," he said quietly. With the feminine sounding voice, it was even quieter than usual. He looked back over at her, unsure how to help her, seeing that she was upset. Normally, he would go to her. But right now, he could not see that helping. And apart from that, he selfishly doubted he could deal with someone else's torment at the moment.

"And what if you're stuck like this!"

She didn't want to sound so shallow but what would happen if he never looked like the man she loves again. It wasn't just his looks that drew him to her and he knew that. It was a delicate thing and she had no one here that she could go to for comfort. No one that she trusted as much anyway.

"Robin," she said quietly, trying to make herself believe that it was certainly him. It seemed hard but she just had to admit it. She chanced a glance for a moment before quickly looking away.

Robin winced at that, looking down. Did she really have to yell? He understood that this might be hard for her, but had she considered how it felt from this position? Yes, what if he was stuck like this? Somehow, he imagined that would be just a touch worse for him, than for her.

"What?" He responded to his name automatically, not looking at her. He felt ridiculously alone all of a sudden, even with her so close. Just what the hell was he supposed to do now?

She bit her lip when she saw the wince, looking up at the ceiling. She hated this, she didn't like yelling at Robin. Especially when it was over something that wasn't exactly his fault. Looking back to him, she knew her gaze would be apologetic.

"I'm sorry."

She looked back at him when he questioned her after she spoke his name. She didn't know what to do now. Leaning against the wall, she closed her eyes again and rested her head back. "I don't know."

She hated this. She knew it wasn't just her going through this but she still hated it.

"So am I," he said somewhat bitterly. And then, it was all he could do to try and stop the laughter that bubbled up. He had, somehow, been transformed in to a woman. For pity's sake, how ridiculous could things become? He had breasts, he had long hair...he was the same gender as his wife.

"I...don't suppose you have any brilliant ideas," he managed around the laughter, getting it under control for a moment, only for it to start again. Even his laughter sounded ridiculous to his ears. He might have been reacting just a bit more than he had originally intended, but who could blame him?

Once he had the laughter under control, he stood, looking over at her. It was strange looking at her from this perspective. They were just about the same height, as opposed to him being quite a bit taller.

He was laughing. What was he laughing at? Frowning, she opened her eyes, not really liking this new laugh from Robin. "This isn't funny."

At least, not in a good way. She could feel a nervous, scared laugh bubble up. It was the only thing to keep her from falling apart in tears once more. She was surprised there were any tears left after the divorce situation.

Pushing away from the wall, she looked at him, or her she wasn't quite sure what to think here, before looking down. She may not be a great drinker but right now it was one of the few things she had on her mind to turn to. "I need some wine."

It didn't matter if it was early, she had often had wine at breakfast. Watered down, of course, but still wine. Giving him one last look she walked out and into the kitchen.

Robin nearly rolled his eyes at that. He was very much aware that it was not funny. It was very far from not funny. And for some reason that he could not fathom, she seemed to be blaming him for this, which he could not deal with at the moment. Simply dealing with the situation at all was beyond him, let alone her apparent need to take on the entire hurt of it herself.

When she left the room, he stared after her in disbelief before turning away and walking over to the window. Turning back again, he contemplated following her before shaking his head, sinking down to sit on the floor beneath the window sill, leaning against the wall. Just what did she expect him to do? He had, at his question, perhaps foolishly, expected a little support from his wife, beyond her seemingly becoming so self pitying. Right now she seemed more like the Marian he had left behind in the time he had come from.

She went straight to the fridge and grabbed a glass, pouring some of the wine before lifting it to her lips. But she couldn't drink it. Sighing quietly, she closed her eyes and placed the cup on the counter. She must seem like a selfish person to him right now, she shouldn't be doing this. She should be with him. Shoving the bottle in the fridge again, she walked back through and bit her lip before sitting next to him.

"I'm sorry. I just...I shouldn't have. It isn't your fault."

She looked over, hoping he would meet her gaze. If she could see his eyes then she would be okay. Because she could focus on his eyes and see him.

He wanted to have a sarcastic response for that. Something about being surprised to hear that it was not his fault. But he didn't want to argue with her. He wanted a lot of things at the moment, but an argument was not one of them.

With a small laugh, he turned his head, still resting against the wall, to look at her. "When the power went out, and I told you it could be worse, I think I must have been asking for trouble." As he watched her, he was struck with one of those unavoidable wants to kiss her, and had to promptly quash it. Now was not the time to be thinking about something like that.

"What are we supposed to do until this...is fixed?" There were so many little things to consider.

"Yes, you tempted fate," she said with a quiet laugh, glad that he had his eyes on her now. This would make things easier. "And I have no idea. I don't...There's no way we can go on in a normal fashion."

At least not as husband and wife. She would never stay away from him if she could but she couldn't be a wife in a physical sense. She had a feeling he wouldn't either.

"At least, by looks of things, it is a body you would quite enjoy growing up," she said in an attempt to make the slightest joke.

"Thank you," he said with some humour. "I feel better knowing you agree this happened because of something I said." And really, she was right about not going on in a normal fashion. In more ways than one. Not wanting to focus on just where that thought took him right now, he said instead, "You will have to call work for me. I obviously can not go...like this."

He gave a short, surprised laugh at her next comment, looking over at her. "To be honest, I am missing my own. And my own voice, though now that you mention it..." He trailed off, looking down at his body. The body. Whatever. But he could not even pretend he was serious, and laughed again.

"I'll let them know," she said with a nod "I'll need to phone soon if they're expecting you today."

She smiled at the laugh, trying to stop that part of her that hated this. She had to support him as much as she could. Do everything she could for him to make this easier. When he looked back down at the body she nudged him.

"It may be your body for the moment but I would appreciate you not looking at it in such a way when I am present. I know my husband's thoughts are still there," she teased.

He grinned at the nudge. "Well they are rather distracting," he smirked, knowing she would know what he meant. He was happy that she was starting to look at this from a slightly more humorous perspective. Lord knew if he did not, he would lose his mind. He ran his hands over his face, which just felt strange anyway, then looked over at her.

"If I am like this why are you not changed?" That was a bit unfair. This place was ganging up on him lately, or so it seemed. "I hope this does not last long. I think I will stay right here until it is over."

"You're only meant to find my aspects distracting," she said with a laugh.

For some reason it was getting easier. Maybe because her mind was starting to be more accepting and just kept treating him as her husband, although she was very much aware that some things could not happen with them. But he was still talking to her, even if his voice was higher, and that was all that mattered.

"I don't know. Hopefully you're not the only one changed," she told him before smiling softly. "I think you'll have to move at some point."

"And I certainly do, but I get the feeling you might find it a little strange for me to pay them any attention at the moment," he said with equal humour.

He shook his head at that. "I doubt that I am. When things happen in this place, they seem to affect a large number of people." He had noticed that the last time, when he had been apparently asking her on and off again for a divorce. Different people had been affected in different ways that time.

"I don't think so. I will just...not do anything." He crossed his arms, which just felt ridiculous, and so lowered them again.

"True," she replied with a laugh, looking down. It would certainly be strange for him to act the way he could when he came to her body. Clearing her throat, she looked back to him when he spoke once more.

"They do, yes. At least that's a small amount of comfort, I suppose? That others are being affected. Maybe we could get you back to normal if there are more suffering from it." It was a hope that she had to keep hold of or she was likely to hate this even more.

"Robin you will find, in time, that you have no choice but to move. Especially if I have to go to work and you need to eat."

"Yeah, that's true. Maybe there's someone who can figure out how to fix this. Though hopefully it will fix itself soon enough anyway. This is not what I would call enjoyable." He looked over at her when she mentioned going to work. He hadn't really thought about that.

"Well there's that," he acknowledged. "But I am definitely not leaving the apartment. I don't have anything to wear that fits, for one."

"Me neither. Hopefully it will get better in time."

She grinned when he mentioned not having anything to wear. Okay now it was getting rather funny. Did he forget for a moment that his wife was a woman and had plenty of clothes sitting there? And at a glance they should fit that body not too badly.

"Well, my love, I borrowed clothes from you often enough perhaps I should return the favour," she said, trying to hold back a laugh.

He was not going to let her laughter get to him. Absolutely not. Looking over at her, he raised an eyebrow. "You are getting far too much enjoyment out of this, aren't you?" He didn't know exactly what she was thinking, but if she suggested what he thought she might, he would not be amused.

"If you even mention the word dress, I will walk around wearing absolutely nothing," he threatened.

"Just a little bit" she admitted with a grin. But if she didn't find this funny she would find it upsetting and get angry again and she didn't want that. She had to stay like this for his sake, she had to support him as much as she could.

"I best not then, you would enjoy that a bit too much," she told him before laughing. "I don't just own dresses Robin. There are skirts too."

She was teasing him but she couldn't help it.

"I expected nothing less. You are a horribly unsupportive wife," he said without a hint of sincerity to the words. He actually knew that she was making the effort to find the humour in this, for him, and he was grateful.

"Oh very funny," he said, and though he wanted her to think he was completely unamused, he did laugh at that one.

"You're going to need all the support you can get," she said with a grin, before laughing at the childishness of that sentence. He would understand what she meant anyway she hoped.

"Yes I did think it funny, thank you. But if you are so against skirts and dresses I guess you could borrow jeans or something like that."

She was fond of jeans, they were comfortable and looked nice. She had enough to share them with him.

He laughed, looking over at her as if he was appalled to hear her say that. "Thank you for that reminder. I may like yours, but I do not know how you put up with them." Just walking from the bed to the bathroom before he had been ridiculously aware of their presence.

"You can't be surprised to know that I am. Jeans will be fine. But that still doesn't mean I will be going anywhere. Except perhaps the couch." To hide. Under a large blanket, maybe.

"Because I have done so for years now," she said with a laugh. "You'll be fine, I'm sure."

She grinned before nodding, standing after a moment. She should get some clothes looked out then, though she didn't like the thought of it. It was that selfish side of her that didn't like him looking at other women. Yes it was him in that body but that didn't mean she liked it.

"Would you like some ice cream while you're on the couch? Maybe a nice movie?" she said with a grin, trying to keep the teasing.

"Thank you for that vote of confidence. I trust you'll remember that when you get turned in to a man. Then we will see how good humoured you are about the whole thing."

He watched her as she stood and moved to get clothes. Watching her select a pair of jeans, he was pretty sure he knew what she was thinking. "Don't worry, I'll wait until you leave for work before I have a good look," he said teasingly.

At her next comment, he rolled his eyes. "Hilarious. I hope that doesn't mean you think I am going to start acting like you as well, sitting there watching sad movies and eating whole tubs of ice cream." Not that she ever ate the whole thing, but he had to tease.

"Oh hush," she said with a smile. "Everything's going to be fine."

She rolled her eyes at his tease, chucking the jeans at his face. Yes, he was a woman but it was still his face. She refused to say her. "You are awful, do you know that?"

She turned to find one of the hooded jumpers she borrowed from him, thinking he might appreciate wearing something that actually originally belonged to him. "That is not what I do, and you know it," she replied with a laugh.

He didn't doubt that she was right. Everything would be fine, it was just a little bit difficult to see that at the moment.

He grinned, catching the jeans when she chucked them at him, his expression completely unrepentant. "Yes, I do know that."

Getting to his feet, he walked over to stand beside her, gratefully taking one of the jumpers that was actually his. That would be much better than some of the alternatives he knew she had. Though, he could not help but raise the question she had earlier. "And what of support?" He could not stop the smirk. "Or shall I just use my hands?"

When he walked over she handed him the jumper before glancing up at his eyes when he questioned her. Even in a different body the smirk was very much the same and she had to resist the urge to hit his stomach playfully like she usually would. No, now was not the time. She was meant to be helpful.

"It feels almost wrong giving my husband my underwear to wear," she said with a laugh, shaking her head. She didn't know if any of the bras she had could fit this body but she might as well try. "You know where I keep them, if you're so desperate why not go and look for yourself?"

"It feels wrong asking my wife for her underwear," he retorted with an equal amount of laughter. Every time he did, it very nearly prompted more, because it sounded so ridiculous to his ears. Each time he spoke, he still expected to hear his own voice, as odd as that was.

When she told him to go look for himself he raised an eyebrow before heading over to the drawer. "And to think, all it took for you to let me in here was becoming a woman. If I'd known it was so easy I'd have done this a long time ago."

There was no stopping the cheeky grin, looking through the different lacy items. Some he recognised, others...picking up a red bra by the strap, he held it up, shooting her an amused look. "Keeping this one to yourself, were you?"

"I'm glad it does," she said with a laugh.

Rolling her eyes, she resisted another urge to hit him or at least shove him when he mentioned the drawer. She never let him in there for some reason, perhaps because it was more fun to see his eyes when she was actually wearing them. Turning away, she began looking for something she could wear when she heard him speaking. Turning, she bit her lip with a grin before walking over and snatching it from him.

"That was meant to be for another night, actually," she said with a grin, eyes on his just so it didn't feel strange to be talking about this sort of thing with him. "You'll just have to wait until you've changed back for that to be put on."

He didn't resist when she snatched it away, grinning when she said it was for another night. "Oh yes, and which night would that be?" It occurred to him that if anyone could see them now, they would be beyond confused. But that was neither here nor there, considering no one could. And if he could help it, no one would.

"In that case, I eagerly await the day that happens." As if he didn't already. Though he might as well get some kind of amusement out of this whilst he was stuck this way. "So. As much as it might pain you to do it...you're going to have to help me with this decision."

"That doesn't matter."

It was going to be a surprise that night when he came home from work. She hadn't thought out complete details yet, she was going to get some things after she went to the stables, but she didn't have to now. It wouldn't be happening until he got back. Biting her lip, she rolled her eyes at her own childishness. She was trying to help him. And even if it meant choosing a bra for him to wear, she had made vows to stay with him. Oh this was strange.

"Here," she said, grabbing one of her more comfortable ones that she had purchased for any of the occasions she went for a jog or even when she anticipated going for a long ride.

"Why doesn't it matter? I am in the midst of terrible suffering right now, I think you should tell me." He would have made his tone more pleading, but he wasn't sure there was much point, when he sounded the way he did.

He could read the awkwardness in her expression at having to do this, not that he could blame her. Personally, he was doing his best to focus on the humorous side of this. And really, he was beyond thankful he had her here. If he didn't, who would be helping him now?

"Thank you," he said sincerely as he added it to the small pile of clothes. He was so tempted to just lean over and kiss her, that would be the normal response in this situation, and yet he did not particularly want to get hit, let alone make her more uncomfortable. Gesturing over his shoulder, he turned and went to the bathroom to have a shower and change. A part of him was somehow hoping by the time he was done this would all be over with.

"Tonight," she said quietly before grabbing underwear for herself. Looking up when he thanked her, she shook her head. He didn't need to thank her, he knew that. She was doing this because she loved him and love meant doing what you can for that person even in times as bad as this was.

Her eyes locked on his and she could almost sense that he wanted to kiss her. As much as she longed to as well, they both knew that would not help this situation. It would just make things worse. Biting her lip, she gave him a small smile.

"I know," she said quietly, hoping he understood what she meant. She knew that he wanted to kiss her, knew that he was stopping himself to spare her feeling uncomfortable. And she really appreciated it. But then he was walking to the bathroom and she sighed quietly once he was not in the room anymore before grabbing her own clothes. She would shower when she got in from work, she just wanted to get changed and get ready to head off. Of course, she had to make sure everything was okay with Robin first.

Funnily enough, perhaps the strangest, and most annoying, part of having a shower, was the long length of his...the hair that he had at the moment. He had intended to simply leave it be, so he wouldn't have to deal with washing it, but of course that was simpler when there wasn't so much of it to get wet.

Once dry, and dressed, and feeling if possible even more odd than before, he went back to the bedroom. He assumed she would be leaving for work soon. "Could you do me a favour, before you go?" He asked once he reached the doorway. "Could you do something about..." He gestured at the long hair which he was already tired of pushing out of his face. He was unaccustomed to being reluctant to asking her for help, but since her initial reaction, he could not help but tread carefully.

She had just finished getting dressed when Robin walked out, changed with his hair still wet. When he questioned her, she looked up from pulling her hair back with a smile. She had to admit, it was a shame to see him like this. And she would have found it funny if it was not Robin. But it was him so, at the moment, she didn't see the funny side. She might if she is given a moment or two though, since she knew there had to be something funny about this.

"Sure," she said with a smile before nodding at the bed. "Never thought I'd see the day where I got asked to do your hair for you."

Okay she had to admit that that idea was funny. Grinning, she grabbed a brush and a hairtie along with some clips so it wouldn't bother him. Once she had them, she knelt on the bed, waiting for him to sit in front of her.

"It's certainly not something I thought I would ever be seeing," he laughed as he sat on the mattress in front of her, once she had knelt. With a lot of effort, and probably a whole lot more cursing, he might have managed on his own, but this seemed preferable as an alternative, considering how frustrated they both already were with the situation.

"I'll sleep in the other room tonight," he said as she fixed the stupidly long hair for him (he had for a few minutes been tempted to cut it all off), "and...until things are back to normal."

Once he sat she got to work on his hair, wondering the best way to keep it away from his face and to stop it bothering him. Tilting her head, she ran her fingers through it first before deciding just a simple pony tail would be best. But her hands stilled when he spoke. He must think that the best option and if she was honest, it probably was. It would kill them to sleep in the same bed and not hold each other, being seperate for some reason seemed for bearable.

"Okay," she said quietly before lifting a hairtie and securing it around his hair. "Perhaps tthat would be the best thing to do."

Grabbing the clips that she was going to use to secure his hair, she slid a few into the hair she could already see coming loose from the hold of the hairtie.

He had known she would agree, because he knew how unsettling this whole situation was for her. It was hard enough for him, and in fact probably should have been more so, and yet he knew she was barely dealing with this. Maybe, depsite his being the one that had changed, she was having a harder time coping.

He sat, waiting as she finished fixing the long, bothersome hair for him. He was enjoying the feeling of her fingers running through it and over his head beside himself, which made him hate all the more that he could not even kiss her right now.

"Done," she said after a moment, standing and putting the brush back. Turning, she bit her lip before smiling softly at him. She would get use to this but she hoped it didn't stay this way, that she would never see him as himself again.

"Are you going to be okay? I can call in sick if you need me to."

She had to phone his work anyway, and would do that as she made breakfast. But if he needed her here then she would stay. He was more important.

He had a hard time telling whether her smile was sympathetic, awkward, or somewhere in between. Either way, he returned it, grateful for the help. He was lucky he had someone here he knew so well, who knew him so well, who could, and was willing, to help.

"It's fine," he answered, shaking his head. "It's not as though either of us can change anything anyway. You love your job, and you've only just started. You go. I'll be all right."

"Are you sure?"

He was right, she loved being at work and maybe at a time like this work would help. She always managed to get away from anything going on whenever she was with a horse. But if he needed her by his side then that was where she would stay.

"You're more important, Robin. I'd rather be here with you if that's what you want."

Maybe he just wanted to be alone for a little while. She would leave it up to him, depending on how he felt.

"I'm sure, Marian. You know you'll feel better if you go, even if it's only for a little while."

There was no reason for her to stay, that would only add to how awkward things were. He could deal with this, he knew that. But with Marian's smiles and awkward silences, as much as he would never admit that, things would just feel worse at the moment. He knew that she had little idea of what to do, in the same way that he did.

He was right. If she could get away and be with the horses even for an hour she might be able to handle this better. That happened a lot for her. Riding, or just spending time grooming the horses, always gave her time to think and often made things that she was finding difficult slightly easier to bear.

"You can always let me know if you need me, or need anything."

After a moment, she moved away from the bed and glanced at the door. She still had some time before she had to go and she would rather it wasn't spent in awkward silence.

"Are you hungry? I have time for breakfast before I go." She wouldn't force anything on him though. She would understand if his appetite wasn't the best right now.
