WHO: Adam Young and Jude Harvelle
WHAT: Spending some time alone.
WHEN: During the Blackout Party at Harvelle's.
WHERE: A back room in Harvelle's.
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Adam wasn't really in the mood to party. He wasn't sure why. He should be. Aziraphale and Crowley were back together. Things had settled down in general around the city. Everyone was in a good mood, despite the lack of electricity at the moment. Yet Adam, for some reason, just wasn't in the mood. He'd showed up though, of course, in order to avoid questions as to why he'd been absent. He just snagged a bottle of liquor and made his way out of the main part of the bar, down the narrow corridor that led to the back office, and took a detour in one of the stock rooms that had been converted into a quieter hangout spot complete with a couch, some chairs, and a card table.

Since the power had gone out, Adam had yet to try lighting anything by his will alone. He was pretty sure he could manage it but, honestly, wasn't all that worried about it. The lantern he carried was for camping and burned long and bright. It wasn't too much of a hassle and, when put on the table, illuminated the room enough that the need for overhead lights was a bit moot provided he didn't try to read fine print or something equally ridiculous.

Flopping down on the couch, his booted feet raising up then dropping lazily over the arm and his head propped up at the opposite end, Adam raised the bottle of tequila to his lips. He made a slight face as he swallowed down a mouthful of the liquid, eyes sliding closed at the burn that made a trail down his throat into his stomach. Raising the bottle to his lips for a second time, he froze in place at a sound at the door. Bright blue eyes popped back open wide as he looked to see who had managed to find him.

Jude was in a pretty good mood. Jo wasn't dying of any horrible illnesses, Molly wasn't getting shot by crazy guys, Colligo wasn't fucking with the people she cared about anymore, and the blackout, while kind of annoying, wasn't the worst thing that could have happened. After all, this was Colligo, the city of apocalypses, fear demons and all manner of 'crazy shit', as she dubbed it in her head. A blackout was low on the scale of things to worry about in the city. Hence the Blackout Party. They certainly didn't have an Apocalypse Party, after all.

She noticed when Adam left, mostly because she always noticed Adam. It was a bad habit, but not one she was really trying all that hard to break. As much as she denied it, she knew she had feelings for Adam. She didn't need Molly to tell her or anyone else. It was a fact. An immutable law of the universe or something. The planets orbited the sun, the moon orbited the Earth, and Jude, in a sense, orbited Adam. There was a sort of gravity that pulled her to him and, though she didn't acknowledge it, she didn't really fight it. She didn't follow him, not right away, but when a few minutes had passed without his return, she excused herself from the conversation she'd been having and headed off after him.

She opened the door and leaned against the doorframe, watching him quietly. Uh oh, tequila. She was pretty sure there was a rule against giving Adam tequila, on the grounds he might drunkenly summon a dragon. Okay, maybe that was an exaggeration, but it was possible. When he looked her way, she gave him a small smile. "Hey, stranger," she said.

Adam had no intentions of summoning a dragon. He'd like to think he learned his lesson the first time, with that one. Nor would there be any aliens (other than the ones already in Colligo), monks popping up out of the ground, or even one single leprechaun. That last one was mainly due to a conversation he'd had with Crowley a few years back that had instilled within Adam a deep-seeded, never discussed fear of the things, but that was beside the point. The point was, he was simply looking for somewhere quiet to drink and think about things that had been happening recently.

But he definitely wasn't opposed to Jude joining him. In fact, she was one of the few who really could get close to him when he was in one of his moods. Ben sometimes could manage to drag him out of them, and Molly had a quiet way about her that often helped, but Jude... well, to put it plainly, Adam was pretty sure he was in love with her and would therefore do just about whatever she asked.

Except for summoning leprechauns. He wasn't sure he could do that, even for her.

Fortunately, she didn't seem to want vertically challenged, gold-obsessed creatures to show up at the moment. She honestly just seemed to want to talk to him. Adam was definitely game for that thought. Dropping his feet off the arm of the couch and hauling himself into a seated position, he finished his drink from the bottle before giving her a lazy, hooded eyed smile.

"Hey yourself," he replied simply before patting the cushion beside him. "Any chance I can convince you to join me on this rather comfortable couch, Ms. Harvelle?
