WHO: Claire Bennet and Sam Winchester
WHAT: Sam's planning on leaving and asked to see Claire before he goes. She agreed.
WHEN: Right after this.
WHERE: The roof of Building A.
RATING: TBD [will probably have bad language and adult situations, at least]
STATUS: In Progress

Claire didn't understand what was going on. The way Sam was talking, he'd gotten himself into some trouble with Crowley. Which really didn't make any sense because she didn't peg him for a gambler, and the last time she checked that tended to be Crowley's preferred area of business in the city. Of course, Claire knew there were things that went on that she wasn't aware of, so it was always possible Crowley had expanded his sights or Sam had, somehow, gotten himself way in over his head in gambling debts. To the point that he apparently thought he had to leave town or he was going to be killed.

Claire wasn't sure if she could help him or not but the main reason she'd agreed to meet him on the roof of all places was in the hopes that she would be able to do something to at least change his mind. She didn't want to see Dean have to go through Sam running off. Then again, she also wasn't sure she wanted to see Dean's reaction to Sam being in this much trouble, either. But it was preferable to someone once again abandoning him. He'd been through that enough to last several lifetimes.

The wind blew her hair back from her face as she stepped out onto the roof. The night sky was filled with stars and she paused to glance up at them for a second. They brought a faint smile to her lips before she re-focused on what she was doing. The smile was replaced with a touch of worry mixed in with some wariness. "Sam?" she called as she stepped away from the stairwell and looked across the part of the roof she could see from this angle. He'd said he was up here. Absently tucking her blond locks behind her ears she half-turned and called for him again.

"Sam? Are you here?"

"Claire? Are you alone, Claire?" Sam whispered. He wasn't far, but he was hidden. Of course talking, even a whisper, easily gave away his location. He stepped out from the shadows, and rolled his shoulders, trying to ease some of the tension he felt.

He wore his usual clothes; jeans and layered shirts. He felt small, even though he towered over Claire. He cleared his throat and moved toward her, arms out. It wasn't uncommon for him to hug her, but she might have noticed he was more intent, this time.

"Of course you're alone. I know you are." Sam smiled a little, in the darkness. He couldn't see her face clearly, but he didn't need light to know she was worried. "I'm okay, Claire. See. Still in one piece."

Claire turned at the sound of his voice. She scanned the shadows, still searching for him, and let out a soft breath when she spotted him finally. For a minute she'd been worried that someone really had come after him. Or that he'd just left despite saying he wouldn't. "Yeah, I'm alone," she assured him softly.

She offered him a faint smile that was still filled with worry as she stepped toward him to give him a hug. The way he did it, however, made her take a brief pause. Something was different. Puzzled, she peered up at him as she stepped back from the embrace.

"What's going on, Sam? Why is Crowley after you? What is it? Gambling? Drugs?" Blood? The word was left unspoken. Claire refused to believe that's what this was about. It didn't matter that Crowley was a demon. It didn't matter because Sam had promised back when Lucifer was running around that he would never go back to the blood again and she believed him. So it wasn't that.

But what was it, then? That was all she wanted to know.

Sam dropped his gaze. He couldn't see his feet in the darkness, but he knew they were there. He swallowed hard. He should have known Claire would ask, and Claire would make him talk. He couldn't like to her any more than he could lie to Cas, or even Dean.

"He wanted me to repay the gambling debt, Claire." Sam raised his chin, kept his eyes averted. "Said he'd wipe it clean if I..." He shook his head. "I didn't do it, Claire. And he got mad, and I only owed him a grand, Claire, but he said he wanted five grand, or..." Sam couldn't bring himself to say it. If he didnt' say it it wasn't real.

"I don't have that kind of money, Claire, and I know he's sending his goons after me, and Claire. Claire, I don't want to die." Sam shook his head. A thread of fear made his voice tremble just slightly.

Claire felt an instant mishmash of emotions as Sam explained. She was shocked that it was due to gambling but also ridiculously relieved that was all that was involved. Reaching out, she placed a hand on Sam's arm and offered him a soft, reassuring look. "Hey," she said simply, "you're not going to die, okay? We're going to figure this out."

Drawing in a breath, she immediately tried to think of a solution. She doubted Dean would give Sam the money even given the severity of the situation. Which meant Claire had a choice. She could give Sam the cash, taking him at his word that's what it was for, or she could stand by Dean and refuse to bail Sam out of the trouble he'd gotten himself into.

It took all of three seconds to know her next move.

"I have that kind of money." She paused and sighed, hoping she was making the right decision. "If Crowley will call off his goons and take the payment, I'll give you the money, Sam."

"You'd do that for me, Claire?" Sam's posture shifted. He didn't relax, but some of the stress flowed out of him. He knew Claire would give him the money without question, but he hadn't known she had that kind of money.

"I don't know, Claire. I mean, I don't know if he'll take it, now. I kind of.." Sam shook his head. "I think I really pissed him off." He winced thinking about it. He was lucky Crowley hadn't killed him on the spot, that he'd been distracted at just the right moment and Sam was able to slip away.

"He stopped giving me the coffee, Claire, that's how I knew he was pissed, so i went to see him. That's when he..." Sam's voice faded for a couple of second. "That's when he told me he wanted five grand instead of the thousand I owed him." Sam knew Crowley had been drugging him, spiking the coffee with...something. He'd suspected it was blood at first, but Sam knew the taste of demon blood, and even coffee couldn't mask it. He didn't know what it was, but whatever it was, Sam was starting to crave a fix.

Claire didn't bother answering him about whether or not she'd do it. She'd have to move some money around in a few business accounts, of course, but it wasn't hard or illegal. Not exactly, at least. And if it would help, she was more than willing.

Then he continued and she felt her stomach drop sharply. Instantly her mind went to other options beyond the easy fix of quick cash. Castiel should be able to keep Sam safe and she could ask Aziraphale to possibly talk to Crowley. Or maybe get Chuck to get involved. If anyone could make sure Sam wasn't killed, it would be-

"Coffee?" The word burst from her lips in a question and she felt vague horror wash over her. She stepped a little closer, craning her neck to look up at him and hoping her proximity would help him focus. "What coffee are you talking about, Sam?"

"Coffee, from the coffee shop in the casino, Claire." She was so close that Sam put a hand up to her shoulder. He shifted his hip, adjusting his weight. His lips felt so dry, and his pulse thumped so hard and so fast he thought his heart would jump out of his chest. His hands were starting to shake, either from some kind of withdraw, or mayube it was desire. He wasn't really sure.

He tilted his head, looking down at her. His tongue slid across his lips, and he thought about kissing her and then he was kissing her, and even if she pushed him away, his lips touched hers and he tasted her and he knew he shouldn't do that, because he loved Cas and she was Dean's girlfriend and it was wrong on so many levels but he hoped she didn't push him away and if he was going to die, at least he would die with the memory of kissing her on his lips.

That didn't make any sense. Why would Crowley just give Sam coffee from the coffee shop? No, there had to be something else. There just had to be. And then Sam was kissing her and, almost instantly, Claire's mind shifted from the Crowley situation to the one she was going through.

Sam was kissing her.

The thought didn't seem to register properly. It should. It should have made her pull away and possibly even slap him for his effort. It should have made her think of how much she loved Dean and how she and Nick had ended their... fling, in part, because of her feelings for her boyfriend. Her boyfriend who was the brother of the man who was kissing her.

Yet as surreal as the situation seemed to be, Claire didn't pull away. If Dean caught them, she wasn't positive he wouldn't actually kill his brother. If Cas caught them, she wasn't positive he wouldn't actually kill her. But she didn't pull away. She simply stood there, trying to figure out just how this had happened. Then something else happened that she didn't understand in the slightest.

She found herself kissing him back.

Her hands slid up, across his arms, with one resting on one of his shoulders and the other not stopping until she could feel the hair at the nape of his neck dancing against her fingertips. Her mouth parted and tongue slid out. As she tasted his lips for the first time, Claire also stepped closer so their bodies were flush against one another. Her eyes were closed, she was on her tiptoes, and at any second she half-expected someone to shoot her in the back for what she was doing. Yet the kiss felt nice in a way that kissing hadn't in quite some time and, despite all her reservations and love for Dean, Claire wasn't so sure she wanted it to stop.

Sam certainly didn't want to stop. He knew it was wrong, and yet it felt so right. As much as loved Cas and loved being with Cas, kissing Cas, there was something infinitely more primitive about being with a woman. He was only kissing her, holding her in his arms, but it was an act of intimacy. He hadn't held a woman like this for so long, even before Cas.

He couldn't think about Cas, now. No, he had to keep his focus on Claire, the kiss, the feel of her pulse throbbing beneath his fingertips. She was beautiful, Sam had always thought Claire was attractive, but her looks weren't important. He was drawn to the immediacy, the thrill of the moment, the need inherent in him, and even the risk of being caught played a part. Sam knew Crowley had put a hit out on him, a price and a bullseye on his head, and Crowley wasn't going to settle until Sam was dead.

Sam knew it wasn't fair to Dean or Cas, what he was doing, but he figured neither of them had to know. If by some miracle he survived Crowley, Sam wasn't going to tell anyone, and he was pretty certain Claire wasn't going to run to Dean with the information either.

Sam drew back from the kiss, but dropped his forehead to rest against Claire's. The height difference made it slightly awkward for him, his knees bent to accommodate, but he'd suffer. "Claire..." he murmured, hand moving to finger her hair. "I need you."

If Claire could feel pain she was pretty sure her neck would be aching from the angle she had to hold it in order to look up at Sam. However she couldn't feel pain and, even if she could, she honestly wouldn't really care at the moment. The fact of the matter was, for some reason Claire couldn't quite put into words, she wanted this. She didn't want to hurt Cas or cheat on Dean. She didn't want to make things even more complicated for Sam than they already were. However, between the thrill of doing something taboo and how desired she felt in the moment, Claire simply could not stop now.

Her eyelids fluttered open and she peered up at him. The pupils in her eyes were large, desire shining in the slight flecks of green that could still be seen. She ran her fingertips absently across the small wisps of hair along the back of his neck, her lips quirking upward ever so slightly in a ghost of a smile.

"I..." She needed to pull away. She needed to tell him no. Yet instead she slid her hand around, unthreading her fingers from his hair and gently cupping his cheek.

"I need you too, Sam," she said in a voice barely above a whisper before pressing her lips against his once more.

"So much," Sam added, voice low and deep. He shifted, pressing himself against her, allowing her to feel the proof of his need agianst her thigh. He was acting out of fear, reckless and scared, but he didn't care. Neither Cas nor Dean would ever have to know, and even if they found out, Sam figured he would be long gone. He might get away with Cas tonight, but Crowley would hunt him down like a dog, and wouldn't rest until Sam was dead and gone. Or worse yet, he'd send his Hound after Sam, and Sam wouldn't have a chance. Either way, he needed this, needed Claire, needed to express his feelings for her, and this was the only way he knew to do that.

He smiled a soft, gentle, reassuring smile. He moved back from the embrace, hands working at Claire's blouse. He often liked to take time in undressing Cas, seeing it as foreplay. Tonight he was in no mood to bother with the clothes they wore, he just wanted to get down to business, before they ran out of time and he had to go. He didn't have time to hesitate, and when the nagging thoughts tried to push through, he stilled his hands and leaned forward to kiss her again. Kissing her made him forget everything else.

There was something about the way Sam looked at her that made Claire feel like she was the most desirable person in the world. There had been a time, once, when Dean could give her the same feeling and yet for some reason in the past few weeks, that had faded. She wasn't sure why and had hoped, when he'd given her the car for her birthday, that she would be able to find that spark they'd once had. However it had yet to return and Claire was starting to doubt it ever would.

Which wasn't important now. Thinking about Dean, about their issues, was not what she wanted nor needed to be doing. Not when she was here, with Sam. Not when she felt desired again. Not when time was short and the risk of them getting caught grew with every second. No, the only thing to do now was to focus on what was happening. So that's precisely what Claire did.

Returning his kiss, she slid one of her hands underneath his shirt and across his abdomen. Sliding her hand back down, she began working at the fastening on his pants. Once she felt the button give way, she broke off the kiss and peered up at him. "We should find somewhere for you to sit," she said in a slightly breathless tone, already deftly working his zipper down with a frenzied sense of urgency.

"Floor isn't crowded," Sam said with a little smile. He stepped back, pausing long enough to push his jeans down so that wouldn't be an issue later. He kept his eyes on Claire, because right then he wanted her so badly that he ached for it, and he didn't want to let her out of his sight even for a moment.

He knelt and turned to sit on his ass. he pulled his shoes off, then his jeans, tossing the denim aside. Reaching up, he put his hands out to her, to try and draw her to him. He felt his tongue move to wet his lips, they felt so dry without Claire there to kiss him.

All thoughts other than thoughts of Claire had fled his conscious mind. He moaned softly, more a purr of desire and an outward expression of his need. His erection throbbed thick and swollen, and he had to put his hands on her to keep from touching himself just then.

The floor worked. It was right there and ready to be used, which was absolutely perfect as far as Claire was concerned. Time was of the essence, after all, and the thrill of possibly getting caught out there in the open was far more alluring than it probably should have been. Regardless though, she wasted little time in sliding out of her shoes and unbuttoning her jeans as Sam removed his own. Bending over enough to slide the denim past her thighs then stepping out of the pants, Claire straightened back up and met Sam's gaze with a desire-filled look of her own.

Her top was next to go, which left her clad in just her bra and panties. With a sultry smile she finally stepped closer and placed her hand within his. Squatting down directly in front of him, she kissed him again. Deeply, passionately, it caused her to whimper in need in the back of her throat. Releasing his hand, she slid one of hers through his hair then back to his shoulder. The other hand inched downward, between them, until her fingers brushed across his erection. She stroked him lightly a few times before releasing him, her palm resting on his thigh as she focused, for a moment at least, solely on the desire she felt for the man she was kissing.
