WHAT: Elle and Noah come to retrieve Maddie.
WHEN: Right after this.
WHERE: Apartment #206A
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
Even though Maddie was napping, Claire still hadn't let the baby out of her sight. She couldn't help it. Although she was all but positive that Sylar wouldn't try to hurt his daughter, she wasn't about to take any chances. So almost immediately upon arriving back at her apartment she had dragged the portable crib that she kept in her bedroom on those rare instances when Maddie was there, into the living room. And now that the baby was sleeping soundly in the aforementioned portable crib, Claire had taken to pacing.
Just a few steps away, toward the foyer, then back toward the crib to glance at the balcony doors. Her stomach was in knots and she was slightly shaking from nerves as she moved. Every so often she glanced back down at the baby as though afraid Sylar had somehow figured out a way to show up and steal the her right out from under her nose. He hadn't, of course, and logically Claire knew he probably wouldn't. They'd had their altercation and he wasn't going to risk another now that she'd had a chance to surround herself with people who could keep her safe.
Which, really, was the problem. Claire hadn't surrounded herself with anyone as of yet. She'd simply hauled ass back to her apartment with Maddie, sounded the alarm via the message board, and told Dean what was going on. She hadn't even heard from Peter or her dad yet and kept glancing at her PDA every few seconds in the hopes that one of them had replied. Then she sighed and continued her pacing. She told herself Elle would be there any minute, presumably bringing Noah with her, and she simply had to wait to make a more concentrated effort to contact her own family until after they'd arrived.
Which she assumed would be soon and even moved a bit closer to her front door in the hopes that her assumption was right.
