WHO: Molly Walker and Lucifer
WHAT: A chat. Of sorts.
WHEN: Mid-afternoon
WHERE: Apartment #103D
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

If Molly claimed she wasn't nervous, she'd be lying. For the past few days - ever since her meeting with Kali herself - the little girl had been on edge over the task she'd been given. She had accepted it, of course, and she would do it, but if she said she wasn't scared that just wouldn't be true. Then again, she had been asked by the Goddess of her own religion to help Lucifer if he should ever approach her. She had been told not to give in too easily, as that would make him suspicious, but to definitely tell him what he wanted to know. She hadn't been told why. She hadn't bothered to really ask, figuring it was best if she didn't know. She had simply accepted Kali's softly spoken assurance that she wouldn't allow any harm to come to her, provided she simply gave Lucifer the location he was after if asked for it.

The only problem was, no one knew for a fact if Lucifer was going to approach her or not. Yes, she could find anyone or anything, including whatever it was he was apparently looking for, but that didn't mean he'd necessarily seek her out. After all he wasn't exactly humanity's biggest fan, or at least that's what she'd always gathered from the small bit of time she'd spent in church back when her parents were still alive, so if he could find whatever it was through other means it stood to reason he'd do it. However there apparently was a good chance he was going to eventually seek her out and, instead of fighting him valiantly to the point of giving up her own life (something Molly wanted to say she'd do but also not able to swear to it, to her own chagrin), Molly had the all-clear to tell him if he really wanted to know.

So she was nervous. And had decided to try and burn some of that nervous energy off by going out to play for a little while. She stayed close, never straying any further than the courtyard around the back of the building, and only spent about an hour or so out there before opting to head back inside. Yet the time away from the same four walls had helped. There was a bounce back in her step and a flush to her cheeks as she made her way inside the apartment. The worry was still there, of course, but she had decided she wasn't going to let it get her down. She would just deal with it if, and when, it became an issue.

Within a few seconds of entering the apartment, it became exactly that.

Once, in a very, very rare while, there shined a human being that caught Lucifer's attention - an undeniable lightning bug spotted amongst the slithering piles of cockroaches inhabiting the jar that was his father's precious little planet. This specific lightning bug was small, but possessed something so special that it deserved only the utmost care. He would allow it to crawl along his hand, observe it, make sure it was given what it needed to flourish and grow - to keep that light alive.

This light had been given the name Molly. Molly Walker.

Little Molly Walker seemed to be just the light he was looking for. She held a power in her tiny hands that seemed too big for one so small. Most would overlook her, cast aside the very idea of her assistance. But Lucifer would not find his time wasted. Instead, he watched her carefully - keeping close watch on how it was she seemed to maintain her ability. She didn't disappoint, of course, and due to this, Lucifer remained pleased.

That afternoon, Lucifer decided that it was time to pay his lightning bug a visit. Time seemed to grow shorter and shorter with every breath he took, and the skin containing his essence continued to dwindle, cell by pathetic human cell. He needed Sam Winchester. And in order for his needs to be made flesh, what Lucifer truly needed was Molly Walker.

The apartment was small - just enough to keep the young girl happy - and at first glance, it was made clear that Molly did not keep up her living quarters like most her age. Lucifer moved his fingertips across the nearest spread of wall, leaving a soft trail of ice after each digit. With no sign of the child, he waited, waited, and waited longer still. But Lucifer knew when the occasion called upon his patience - despite how virtuous that sounded - and would wait until the wait was no longer a necessity.

The afternoon grew still and as the clock on Molly's wall hit two o'clock, the door opened and there stood the child. Lucifer pressed his hands together, settling his middle fingers to his chin as he looked down upon his key.

"Hello, Molly," he said and the door slammed firmly shut behind her back, "I thought we might have a nice little tea party this afternoon."

The door slammed shut and Molly's back instantly went ramrod straight. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped a bit. Even though her lips parted, though, she couldn't manage even a squeak of surprise. Her tongue felt heavy.

It was colder in the room than she'd expected, she noted absently. She hadn't really thought about it but if she'd been asked she would have thought it would have been warmer. Lucifer also looked different than she expected. For while he had yet to introduce himself, she knew it was him. She didn't even need to use her ability to verify it.

Reminding herself to breathe, the young girl finally unfroze from her shock and she gave a slow, deliberate nod of her head. "O-Okay," she agreed. What else was she supposed to say? An outright no and he might not even get to his request. He might just get mad and kill her, and that was what she was supposed to be avoiding. She took a step forward and her hands slid into the pockets of the light jacket she wore. She balled them into fists, swallowed, and tilted her head back a bit more to peer up at him.

"Do you want real tea? Or something else to drink?" she questioned. Her voice started out fairly shaky but had evened by the time she'd finished. Yes this was all surreal but she was certainly adaptable and the easiest way to do that was to keep things as normal as possible for as long as she could.
